IVYSCAM - scam all the way - even paypal info is BOGUS!

As I mentioned in previous posts, PayPal has already credited my account while they review the scam artist - IVYSCAM. However The IVYSCAM customer service number they list on the paypal page is a totally bogus. I called the (888) number and it is a consulting company.. WTF!?!?! Here is the bogus info from paypal:

Do your emails contain the same Transaction ID or is this unique? That would help answer some questions. Does this mean refund of $5 shipping which was promised if received after the 31st, or entire purchase refunded and no case will be shipped or full refund and still shipping the case???
 
Transaction number is unique. I have no idea what the email means though. It contradicts itself so I have no idea what they're doing (they obviously don't either).

According to these rules all of our orders should be retroactively cancelled and refunds issued.

Merchants who violate the Rule can be sued by the FTC for injunctive relief, monetary civil penalties of up to $16,000 per violation (any time during the five years preceding the filing of the complaint), and consumer redress (any time during the three years preceding the filing of the complaint).

Did you request a refund?

Sort of, i said if i didn't receive more detailed info by July 27th than I would request a refund. This is their 2nd response to that email. The 1st, that they would refund for shipping if received after July 31st.

Anyone else find it odd that when you track your shipment via Ivyskin's website rather than using the tracking # on the usps website, the carrier is listed as FedEx Next day Express? Is it possible those morons sent these things out today via FedEx overnight so that those of us in the US get them tomorrow? I wouldn't think so but it definitely says FedEx Next day Express when I track it. Weird.

I don't know about the other people that got the email but I did not ask them for a refund and I did not dispute the charge with AMEX (at least not yet). Got the refund email today but I don't even know what it means.

Since all the drama about IvyScam is in the iPhone accessories forums, here some updated 411 from the iPad spectrum (my scam story: bought smart case July 12th, supposed shipping of product 3rd week of July, received nothing, sent email, this is their reply):

ETA has been delayed to 2nd week of August 2010, and shipping notification
will be send after ETA confirms, Ivyskin offers Xylo T4 case as an interim
to Quattro T5, if interested let us know to send the case and return it

The most amazing thing about this email? They responded back in 28 mins and 38 seconds. OMG, there's a splash of customer service! *Now, if only they answered their phones... *

I'm not sure if these was an automated response due to the lack of people complaining about not receiving their Smart Case, but *****, better than nothing. *I do find it odd that they're giving me the Xylo T4, instead of the Quad T5. *The Smart Case = (same Quad T5 + de/attachable external battery/clip stand), and the Quad T5 was already available for purchase like a month and a half ago, so they should have some of them...I dunno, I'm just venting now. *This is irritating me so much, buck them.

Guess I'll try to stay optimistic about this, if it makes anyone feel better my case was $100, so if they are scammers, LOL @ me, potential drug money wasted. *Check back in two weeks, mofos, hope y'all get your cases in the meantime. * * * **

I been waiting since 7/8 and filed a dispute with Paypal today. thanks for all the info in making my decision easier than waiting for something that never shipped.
 
I also ordered my case over 2/1/2 weeks ago. Was promised ship by the 16th. Got the Delivery Confirm on the 21st.. Emailed the multiple times only one response as follows.....

If they got enough chargebacks the credit card companies might have suspended their privileges and gave everybody refunds.

What we knew all along despite customer service adamant that they had sent them, this company should be shut down
 
You guys are going to love this. I actually called Ivyskin just now and got a human being on the phone! I immediately asked what was going on with my order and he looked it up. He told me that my order had been refunded because I requested a refund. I told him that I did no such thing so he looked it up and found an email I sent to them. In my email I mentioned the fact that my tracking information hadn't changed at all and I wanted to know why. I also asked why they had reviews on their site that were dated before the cases had even been shipped out. Finally, I told them that a lot of people were pissed about the situation and gave them a link to this very thread. I told them that the company's rep was taking quite a hit and that they might want to jump in and let people know what's going on.

Anyway, the guy told me that they interpreted my email as a threat and intimidation and refunded my money for that reason! He also told me that macrumors is shady and that there are a lot of people on here that work for Ivyskin's competitors who are spreading false information about Ivyskin. Of course I told him that they are the ones who are being shady by posting false reviews on their website. He tells me that those reviews are from people in the business. He said that they send out free cases to people ahead of time so that they can review them before the general public gets them. Sure. I then told him that it's also shady that they sent out tracking numbers when the packages haven't even been shipped. The guy then tells me that the cases were damaged in shipment and that they never went out! I asked him why Ivyskin support told me that if I have a tracking # that means the item actually shipped. He tells me the item did ship. Wait, what? It's just lie after lie with these guys. First they told me it shipped, then they told me it didn't ship because the cases were damaged, then he tells me it did ship.

I again ask him why I have a tracking # that shows no progress whatsoever. He tells me that I'm lucky I got a tracking # at all because people who are ordering now are not getting a tracking # right away. I say what good is a tracking # when it doesn't show any progress. I then ask him why the carrier is listed as FedEx Next Day Express and he tells me it's a system glitch. I ask him where the cases ship from. He tells me the West Coast or New York. I ask where mine shipped from. He says he doesn't know. At this point we're just going back and forth and the guy is clearly getting angry with me. He tells me that I'll have the case by tomorrow or August 2nd. Then he says July 31st or August 2nd. Which is it, tomorrow or July 31st? He says that he never said tomorrow. Argh! The guy is talking in circles and doesn't know what he's saying. He tells me that I'm getting a refund. I say I don't want a refund, I want my case. I never once mentioned the word refund or chargeback in my email. He says you'll have your case by July 31st or August 2nd. I ask him why I'm still getting the case if they refunded my money. He says that the case had already shipped, and once I get it I'll need to send it back to them. If I decide I want to keep it, I need to call them so that they can send me an invoice. If I don't call them, they're going to call me. Whatever.

He goes on and on about how much of a demand there is for these cases, yada, yada, yada. I don't know what to believe with these guys. It's clear that they're in way over their heads and they've screwed this up beyond belief. I urge you guys to keep calling until you get someone on the phone. It's actually comical to hear them try to explain this mess. If there was a damaged shipment don't you think they would have either posted that information on their website or emailed their customers to let them know what happened? Of course not - that makes too much sense. Instead they just lie about it and hope that people will keep quiet. I was willing to just sit back and wait for my case but I do not appreciate being lied to repeatedly.
 
Man...shady, shady business.

Just got off the phone with my credit card company and started the process for a chargeback.

Done with these guys.
