Good thing I have another cheap $8 case from eBay arriving today so I can use that instead of this...thing.

I received my Ivyskin Reception Case today. I just registered to post pics to prove this but I have been following this thread in hopes of the cases finally sending. Overall it was meh. The right side of the case doesnt fit tightly like the left side and I'll probably be using my bumper since it's grown on me while waiting forever for this to get here. Here are some quick pics I snapped as proof. Like the prev person said the casing is cheapish lookin lol. I havent applied the screen protectors that came with bc I have on power support crystal clears on and love it!

Yep, same packaging as I had. It really is not very tough, just white paper, about 20 pound bond with bubble wrap inside it seems.

Can any of you who have received the IvySkin Reception case confirm the following claims:

From Andy at 7/13/10 10:36 AM

* Will I have to remove the case before inserting the phone into the iPhone 4 dock, or will it fit in the dock with the case still on?
*
No You do not. The Reception case is fully compatible with the original Apple iPhone 4 dock system.

From Mark at 7/12/10 2:07 PM

* Can I dock the Iphone standing up with this Case?
I could not do so with my previous-similar, but slightly thicker clear case and the 3GS.
*
Yes, 100%. The Reception case is fully compatible with the original Apple iPhone 4 docking unit. You don't need to remove the case in order to dock it.

From David at 7/10/10 1:04 PM

* Does this case still allow the iPhone 4 to be docked in the apple iPhone 4 dock or a universal iPhone 4 dock connector?

To be clear, I am asking about cradles not simply the USB sync cable.
*
Yes, only if the dock station is original Apple and not after market.

From IDUB at 7/8/10 3:41 AM

* Can i use the iPhone 4 dock with this?
*
Yes, 100%

Will it fit in the iPhone 4 dock?

Based on those pics I hope my order is never processed and shipped to me or they get lost in the mail so I can get a refund. I can't believe the edges of the of case don't clear the top of the phone. That's the biggest turnoff for me. Looks like I'll stick with my luxe lean for now.

NOTE: Does anyone else notice the case does not not match the pics on the ivyskin website. The camera/flash cutout is wrong. I'd be willing to bet there's going to be a flash problem with this case as well.

Also they claim it's the thinnest case ever but it doesn't look any thinner than the switch easy or my luxe lean.

Since the package was already delivered but my mind is pretty much made up that I don't want the case, can I just cross out my name and address, write return to sender on the packaging and toss it back in the mail? Or do I need to stick postage on the thing before I send it back? I don't want to pay for anything related to this product so if additional postage is needed, I'm going to make them send me a label.

Both cases are crap...poorly designed and feels cheap.

Sigh, back to the drawing board.

1) Didn't like the Apple bumper, raised my screen proctectors...
2) Ivyskin Clear and Nude Clear are just poor products

My only hope is the Incase Snap Clear.

$35 for the Incase, ouch. How do you think this hard shell will differ than the others?

I just intercepted the Mail Lady, all I had to do was write "Return to Sender" on the envelope.

Pretty funny, after all that wait, frustration, it is going back and I never even opened it.

If it hasn't been opened just cross out your name and mark it return to sender.

I just got one of the $6.50 clear eBay hard-plastic cases today. I have no doubt (just like all the other clear cases) it WILL scratch. My disappointment was that it turned out to be 2 pieces not 1 piece although it does protect the screen when putting the phone face down. It fits perfectly in my Apple "universal" dock with an old Switcheasy adapter in it.

It also had four approx 3/4" x 3/4" "mold marks" on the back which I am SURE would bother the "purists" out there but doesn't bother me.

It was a very nice snug fit. I put it over a Gelaskin I also just got today and it BARELY fit. Initially it did not but after squeezing the front and back together all day :) it finally fit.

FOR ME it's good enough until the Belkin Micra shows up from Apple which I am SURE will be as bad as all the rest or them.

This was the case:

I don't understand this at all. The pictures posted here look nothing like the pictures posted on the ivyskin website and they don't look like the similar Belkin case that Apple is offering through the case program. What gives?

It's NOT the same, look at the shape of the camera cut out, and the pictures look like the case goes all around the phone! What a con!

That's my point exactly. I actually just got off the phone with them for the 2nd time today (they've been answering their phones today and it's a different guy - much nicer and better English). He told me that the pictures that are on their website right now are of the first case they had made and there was a problem with the flash. He says that the newer one with the keyhole-looking cutout (the one shuynh1185 posted pictures of) is the updated version that does not have an issue with the flash. It would seem like the keyhole cutout would be worse but he told me the opposite. He also said that the top and bottom are exposed so that it will work in docks and so that people can use whatever headphones they want (that actually makes sense). The top and bottom certainly don't look exposed on the website though but maybe that's just the angle that the pictures were taken from. He mentioned the similar Belkin case and said that it's thicker and he said the similar incase will be thicker as well. He also mentioned the switcheasy nude but I'm not interested in that anyway.

At this point I'm just going to wait until mine comes and see if I like it. I don't like the top and bottom being exposed though so I think it's going to go back. Plus it will probably scratch like crazy even though he said something about the special coating that is supposed to be scratch-resistant. Those coatings never work.

Free through Apple's case program

Incase has a good reputation so one can only hope they'll release a quality case. We'll see in 4-5 weeks lol

Did he happen to mention why the edges are not flush with the front of the phone? It doesn't take an engineer to figure out that this design is just retarded.

try posting a review on their website...

Try posting a review on their website, betcha they won't post any negative reviews that would interfere with all the bogus reviews they have up now. I sent a review the other day...giving IVYSCAM one star for all the lies and poor customer service...surprise it is not up nor will it every be displayed. IVYSKIN is a JOKE!

Just installed mine. The case actually fits OK but the tabs on the front of the screen protectors ripped and left a crappy glue residue on them.

I'm cutting my losses and not wasting any more time on Ivyscam.

I'll use the case until I find something better.

Make screenprints of the website photos just incase (pun intended) you need it to prove "not as ordered" from PayPal or whoever.

Quite obviously the whole "scam" was they weren't able to get the cases they originally advertised (maybe because Belkin got a couple million of them for the Apple deal) and they came up with a quick substitute from China. From the photos they look noting like the website and frankly that's one more item to update on your BBB complaint because IvySCAM might answer the BBB with "well, we did ship them."

All their pics are completely photochopped. Look at pics 3 and 4. They don't even look like the case in pics 1 and 2, and they sure as hell don't look like what shuynh1185 got.

Comes with a front and back screen protector, squeege, and cloth for wiping

thanks for sharing. guess their online picture are a little off, the sides of the case does not go past front screen.  so in other words, if laying the phone face down, the front screen has contact with the surface.

Looks like they changed the pics on their site. Anyone save the old images?

Hah, those images look even worse than the originals.

I have to agree. I'm not even the least bit excited about getting this case now. Hate that the top and bottom are unprotected and I can't believe that this "new" design won't affect the flash. It looks just like the old design of the Griffin Reveal and that affects that flash. I'd love to know the real story behind why they decided to change the design of the case they are selling. Makes me think I should just order the Belkin Shield Micra as my freebie from Apple.
