Am I the only one who was kind of put off by this? Like yeah it was funny, but this whole thing kind of felt...forced, for lack of a better term. Having Iovine Cue and St John there just gave off an arrogant vibe. They're management of a company, not celebrities. Idk say what you want but I wasn't a fan of the decision to make this.
Didn't need Eddy Cue there but other than that it was a good ad.

i thought i read somewhere that apple didn't like using celebrity to promote it's product.

The ad is ok.
I wish I could say the same thing about their new Music app.

I wasn't sure the music app could get any worse than it was in ios9. Now I'm sure.
To think, in 2016 Apple can't come up with a UI to a music application half as clear & concise as they and everyone else had over a decade ago already...

Option 1: Apple has been selling iPhone 7 so well that they can't even get enough iPhone 7 for the commercials

Option 2: Steve Jobs would never allow blah blah blah Apple has lost it's blah blah blah

Option 3: I want that version and not the retail!

Option 4: Guess they filmed the comercial in antecedence and just needed a quick mock up so they faked it in AfterEffects

Either you haven't been even following Apple for very long or you haven't learned anything about the company in the last 30+ years.

Yep. Just adding more people to my "ignore" list.

Just click their name off to the side and hit the "ignore" button on the menu.

Yep. Lately, I've been on a quest to clean up the comments from vulgar trash and from people who clearly shouldn't be on an Apple site because they neither understand the brand nor are a fan. It's destined to fail. There are just too many of them. This community has been lost. I miss the early days.

Suggestion for @arn: Allow users to filter comments to only those who have been members pre-2008ish. That was around the end of the golden era where people who bought Apple products were actual Apple fans. Very sorry to real fans who joined after.

Oh no no no no...
Wow. I'm a lover of Apple commercials, ads, and promotions, but this was just awful.
I've never seen such an example of Apple just "trying too hard" before. That was painful.
No subtlety. No 'hidden' humor.

"forced" is an understatement.

Sinc when?

These are just some from the Steve Jobs era. Recently they have been using celebs a lot.
Not sure why you'd say that. For years now their ads have been distinctly 'none-celebrity'. In the past they had plenty though.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one feeling that way. I'm ok with them doing an ad with Corden - they should since they're working with him now for the new Carpool series - but this was not the right way to go about it. It was heavy on product pushing rather than sending a message about the product itself. Felt too much like they were being a guy in a crowd (the crowd being Spotify) jumping and waving his hands in desperation to get attention. And again the executives making an appearance (especially Cue) just gave of an arrogant "yeah you know who we are, because we're Apple" vibe. Should've just had Corden doing his own "Carpool Karaoke" in his car, then jumping home to his Apple TV to watch the same karaoke he just had in his car. During the driving scenes it could've shown him using apple music in CarPlay to request a song via Siri, and boom, perfect cute little Apple ad that is nice, funny, and gets the message across.

Instead they acted like American Idol judges. Big headedness all around if you ask me.

I think I might be the only one who noticed that the iPhone that Jimmy Iovine holds up in the commercial appears at first, to be a Rose Gold iPhone 7, but if you see the camera closely, its actually an iPhone 6s camera, with possibly edited out the antenna lines in post. I dunno why I noticed it, but hey.

Really? I thought it was nice that the management actually stood up for this.
Also would make no sense, if he would pitch those idea to actors who don't work at apple..

But didn't really like the jokes much. Only liked it because i like james corden.
