Apple couldn't hire a real comedian? Not funny at all, except that he was fat.
I would like to apologize to all non-Americans reading this thread:

I was born and live here in the good ol' USA.

And real Americans do not find this Apple ad to be funny.

If you spot someone here thinking this is funny AND they look like they live in the United States...

I can assure you they are a paid Apple shill.

Because that Apple ad was meh at best.

Instead, Apple should have hired Chris Rock and gave him a cup and a dime. Anyone remember that movie scene - now THAT was funny.

only bad thing about this commercial is the apple emplyees sitting there trying to naturally suggest things that obviously is said to explaing what features apple music has. It just feels fake and doesnt really fit into the conversation. Apart from that I like it.

No. The ad was filmed before the iPhone 7 launches and because adverts are usually filmed by external production agencies, Apple were hardly gonna hand over an iPhone 7 to film it. I imagine the antenna lines were removed in post to make it look more like a 7 from a distance.

And you presume Apple, the most pedantic of all companies, would have no prototype shells to use for the sake of consistency? The first leaked iPhone 7 images circulated as early as last March. The ad appears to have been filmed in the summer. Sorry, not buying it.

They should have gone for the full Ricky Gervais anti-commercial like Optus did here, but other than that it was pretty good. The Iovine "why didn't you just give him some water?" was impeccable comedic timing. Helped by the fact that he looks and sounds like Larry David.

I know it's all completely personal and I admit I'm not into his shows, but it's so strange seeing an awful actor from here go across the pond and make it mega big. Because he really is rubbish.

Same with Gervais. Office was a wonderful and short little show, but now he's just some angry mega Atheist. And as a normal atheist he (and his type) gives the rest of us a bad name.

At least Steve Coogan is still incredible wherever he goes.

man this fat british guy is terrible

Was that supposed to be funny? That dude is in the wrong commercial and wrong TV show. I have a suggestion: why don't they make a TV commercial about the Apple Watch while he joins the Biggest Loser?

He's not fat for US standards.

You guys asking him to adopt healthier habits are doing something that's frowned upon. SJW call it body shaming.

Oh, of course they had prototypes and probably working units. But what I'm saying is they wouldn't want to hand them over to an external production agency, weeks before the launch, and risk 'official' leaks. That's what I'm saying. It's not about them not having the materials, it's about the secrecy.

Don't know who any of those people are but my observations: Only the British guy can act even a little bit (maybe the bald guy), the rest even their reaction shots look fake, and the girl has awesome hair and we should see more of her in upcoming Apple Events.

I have no idea (seriously) who James Corden is and I didn't find the commercial funny, if it was supposed to be, but I felt like the lady in the commercial looked like she felt. The only cool thing I thought about the spot was the Chevrolet Corvette that he was driving at one point.

1) "that woman" is Bozoma Saint John. She has a long track record in music and entertainment marketing.
2) a lot of people liked her presentation at WWDC. It was definitely not the worst they've had.
3) Where is your Wikipedia page?

Steady on old chap!

1. I'd say the same for a bloke. But obviously replace woman with bloke or man.
2. Anybody who liked her presentation is in denial in my opinion. It was bloody awful.
3. I may not have a wikipedia page, but I have been a member here for yonks... doesn't that count for something?

As for this ad... blah. Corden did co-create the brilliant Wrong Mans though.

Foul and unnecessary. What a great community we have here at MacRumors.

yeah, body shaming at it's best (or worse, well, it can be worse). I'm sure these commenters are the most perfect and beautiful beings in the galaxy!

More on topic: That said, I like James Corden but find this ad boring.

What he said. Sums it up perfectly.
