Looks like it is the 1TB Fusion and 3TG Fusion holding shipments. Looks like they must have received more 1TB Fusion in because I see those preparing for shipment. My first order was for the 1TB 7200 RPM and it shows preparing for shipment after only 18 days. That is more than 1 week sooner than expected. I hope my 3TB Fusion ordered on Jan 19 ships sooner also....

Well, if it's the 1TB and 3TB Fusion Drives that are holding shipments up, then I can't understand why the hell mine hasn't changed to Preparing For Shipment. My configuration is only with the standard 7200rpm Serial ATA HDD. I think I know exactly why. Because the systems with the Fusion Drives cost more money, there for Apple makes more money off those orders, and they are getting those out first because if the customer cancels THOSE orders, then they lose more money than if I cancel mine.

---------------

ALSO. I really don't want to hear ANYMORE garbage from Apple about these orders Preparing and Shipping in the same order they were received. Because all of this is proof that it's absolute bullcrap. Two orders placed after mine? On the 11th and 12th? And I'm sure there's way more. This is absolutely ridiculous. If Apple truly built and shipped the orders in the order they were received, then mine would already be preparing for shipment and possibly shipped. Instead, people that ordered 2-4 days after me are seeing theirs change. Sometimes I wish that Apple reps and executives would pay attention to these forums. Also, it's worth noting that one of these orders is confirmed to be in the same country as me, so what's the deal?

Ordered 16th of January. Still nothing, but then again if they are only 1 week ahead, than mine will be shipped by the end of the next week :(
Yesterday, i started to consider buying a mac mini and a thunderbolt display, thus it being "cheaper" to update each time apple updated their line of minis.

Yes and no...By the time we're all ready to update our late '12 iMacs, there will be a higher dpi display.

Good News is my Imac has left China, bad news is they pushed my estimated date from 1/31 to 2/1(which was what Apple actually estimated when they shipped it.) O well I've waited this long I don't think another day will hurt. At least I'll have the weekend to get it setup.

Mine arrived yesterday. I've been using it for a little while now, and as far as I can tell, this thing is flawless. Love it.

Agreed. Am emailing apple now. It's not dependent in order date. Spec or country from the evidence in this thread. I got told this definitely could not be happening. Apple asked me for order numbers of those I am claiming have been ordered after mine shipping earlier. Yeah. Cos I have those

Cool,
This is the same configuration I ordered on Jan. 15th. Maybe mine is
shipping soon.
BTW, are you talking about setting up your OS on an External HD?
That's what I am doing using the seagate Thunderbolt Adapter (STAE129)
and an SSD drive. An alternative to a fusion drive.

Ours might get on the same flight...I'm hoping for it to get on that Shanghai direct to Memphis FedEx90 flight. :shrugs:

a day early?!

Looks like Christmas in January is going to come a day early for me. Estimated delivery was January 31, but it's on the truck for delivery right now.

Just got an email notification that it has shipped with Fedex tracking number.

Yes, I'm thinking of getting the powered Seagate Adapter with an Intel 520 SSD. Read about too many problems with Fusion drive, so this is probably a better alternative that doesn't break the bank as well.

Same here.
I actually had placed an order for a 3.2 i5 with the fusion drive back in mid December. The more I thought about it, I decided to go with the i7 and an external SSD for the OS. So I cancelled that order and reordered.

I have the SSD and dock hooked to my Macbook Pro as a test, and it works perfectly. I went with the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB.

I plan on using the internal 1TB drive for Documents and Time Machine.

FINALLY! Preparing For Shipment on 1/30 at 10:45am.

Well, as of 10:45am, my order is now Preparing For Shipment! Freaking FINALLY! All I was doing was checking my checking my bank account via the app on my phone, didn't expect anything at all, and then I noticed that the amount displayed for my available balance was significantly lower than earlier in the morning when I checked... After jumping around like a nutcase and screaming at the top of my lungs, I ran over to the computer here and checked my order status page and sure enough, both items are now Preparing For Shipment. Both the iMac, and the freebie USB SuperDrive. I really can't believe it, I think I'm actually in shock. It's a bit of a relief knowing it's finally closer to being on it's way, and now I don't have to check the status page every hour as I'll receive an email once it's shipped.

By the way, I received a MyUPS shipping notification from UPS. Originally I thought it was for the mouse pad and maybe it had been delayed, but it was for the Apple USB SuperDrive. Which is coming from Mount Juliet, TN. I don't mind IT being shipped via. UPS, but I really hope that my iMac is shipped via FedEx. Because I've had some issued with UPS, pretty bad ones, and FedEx has always been great.

Base model + 1TB fusion drive shipping to Nevada ordered on 1/10/13... Preparing to ship as of today. (And on another note, the spreadsheet won't let me write in the date like everyone else did. It keeps auto-formatting?)

I really honestly think that your order literally is right around the corner from going to Preparing For Shipment. Because I mean, your credit card has already been charged the final charge, and you placed your order a day before I did, and since mine just now updated, you HAVE to be next. I think it might have something to do with the countries, but I just can't wrap my head around why you credit card was charged so far ahead of your status changing. It's really odd. I would definitely call Apple today about your order, because something has to be going on, especially if you were charged a few days ago. May everything has already updated for you, just your status page is bugged out or something. Who knows. I really hope yours changes soon.. Good luck!

Ordered i7, 680, 1TB Fusion on Jan, 7 (order is on the spreadsheet) from the Apple online store. Here's my update:

I checked Apple website early this morning after midnight and the status changed to "Preparing." When I woke up at 6:30am, it was listed as "Shipped" and I received all the tracking info. I recently (11:30amish) checked the tracking and the estimated delivery was Friday at 4:30pm. I'm hoping I don't have to wait until Monday to get it!
