The spreadsheet is losing its credibility as people intentionally or by accident have deleted the username column, and now, someone has deleted a lot of order dates, and moved the remaining dates "up".

It's a mess. I hope it's not deliberate. If it is I hope karma bites him/her on the arse :p

I think yours must be in the next batch. In the last 2 days try have moved almost 6 days worth of orders.

Not long now. Can't be.

Thanks for the comforting words. Sometimes I wish I could just ignore it, but not easy:)
I hope mine gets shipped soon. Although I don't see many orders from the 15th being completed. And now it is even more difficult because of the missing order dates.

I just restored the spreadsheet to a version from about 2 hours ago. It seems back to normal now, but any legitimate updates made after this version will have been lost.

I think that users who aren't familiar with Google Docs and Excel-like spreadsheets are making unintentional mistakes and don't know how to fix them.

Fingers crossed for you. They really are speeding up. - in fact I wonder what their delivery time scale is now for new orders?

Thanks @oililymad. You are too sweet:)

The dates are back in the sheet. Way the go @solarno :)

Sweet? Lol. I'm quite the dragon when I put my mind to it. Appearances can be deceptive even online :)

Great news in the spreadsheet. That thing saved my sanity for a few weeks.
Thanks guys

Ps. I naturally assume you are all men. Don't know why !

On vehicle for delivery! But the estimated delivery date is showing Monday...ARGH! I just want this thing already. I'm a very patient person but this is really pushing me to my limit. It was delayed in Anchorage for 3 days so Apple credited my account $50.00 but still...

I dunno. The first I'd ever heard of Apple upgrading every 27" was via a poster here (you?). That wouldn't be very cost effective to give $30 to every customer in their database. They gave it to a lot of people but I wouldn't get too overly worried. Once it moves it'll be at your home pretty quick. :)

Yeah. Like I said, I'm not concerned about when it will get here as much because I have en estimated delivery date that is one day before what Apple originally quoted me when I placed the order. Also, I didn't pay for the express shipping, therefor I'm not losing out on anything. The only think that's an annoyance to me is that the Apple reps were telling people this, and telling people that their iMacs were shipping Express, and that all of them were, in fact. I realize that yeah, it wouldn't have been economical, so I still sort of doubted it a tiny bit, but when you hear it from four different Apple techs.

Honestly. There is nothing any of us can do to change the timescale of these things arriving into our respective countries now. Once in the hands of a local delivery hub - perhaps we could change stuff. But they will be palettes up waiting for flights sealed with documents.

Why fight something we cannot change?

I've deliberately left myself a few new iMac arrival type jobs to do for these last few days. I'm certain that this time next week ill be lying in bed looking at a beautiful shiny new iMac.

I'm even feeling positive about it arriving without fault

I don't think Appke have got it right. They haven't handled thus well. However. Telling them that will not make it arrive faster. It might get you a £50 cash ack or free drive or whatever. - but it won't give you what you want

I've lost over 10k these last few weeks in turned down work. £50 isn't going to cover it.

They've shipped loads these last 3 days. There's bound to be some hold ups getting them out. Yeah I'm impatient and called Apple to ask if it really would take another week. But they can't change it. At least bit 'til it lands in your country.

Just a little more patience needed :)

I hoping mine will arrive without fault too, well, everyone is I would assume. Like you said though, it's not use fighting what we can't change. If it does arrive with defects, then we go to plan B, which for some people included shipping it back for a replacement, or just getting a refund, or like me, possibly consider going with an entirely different computer.

For the Macbook Pro 15 retina, there's a terminal command to give the display type. Can't be done on the 13 retina.

On the iMac, just go to Spotlight and type in System Information, and in Storage under Hardware, Physical Volumes shows the code for it. So I have the Samsung SSD (SM128E) a WD blue 1TB drive. WD10EALX

Yeah, I can't remember the command off the top of my head, but it's easy to find here on the forum. You said you were able to see the hard drive information through "About This Mac"? You didn't see anything relating to the display did you? Other than the usual 2880x1440 Resolution, and such and such.. I was hoping that there was a website with a system, or a way that folks at the Apple store could check those stats by Serial Number. I mean, I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I don't know of it yet. That would save people a lot of hassle when it comes to finding one with a Samsung display, and it would save Apple some money, not having to deal with computers returned right after the lid's flipped up...

Didn't @large farva get a super drive for free? His signature says freebie.
So waiting one or two days extra shouldn't be a problem

You could have asked me. Unless of course you were stating it to the others in an attempt to make me look like a dick. Which is understandable, because I guess I MIGHT have come off a bit, I don't know, pissy? Like I said a couple posts ago, if you would like to take a look at them, I mentioned that I'm not that concerned with the time it's taking to get to me, as I only selected Standard Shipping in the first place, the thing I'm concerned with is why Apple reps are telling people that their computers are shipping out with the upgraded shipping. Four different ones told me mine was, and that all 27" iMacs were. There's nothing that can be done now obviously, and personally even if I could somehow have it changed to express while in transit, I wouldn't do it, because the extra talking to Apple reps or FedEx and such just isn't worth, 2 days... Like someone said below your post there, we all want our new machines, pretty badly. Some absolutely NEED them, because they are turning down work and losing a lot of money, and some WANT them really badly. Either way, it just stings a little bit to be told that you're getting something, just to find out your not. That's all. Oh, and yes I did receive a free SuperDrive, it arrived today actually. I have it sitting right where my iMac will be sitting, as a place holder if you will...

By the way, I just would like to apologize to folks that may have taken offense to my pissy attitude. I've explained myself in the above and before (separate) posts. It's not just this iMac I'm concerned with, I'm going though a little slice of Hell right now, me and my family are. And that just fueled some of my rantish behavior and had me in a not-great mood upon logging on here in the first place.

Well, you seemed pretty enraged, and it just pushed other people's buttons also. I would also like to apologize to you, because my comment WAS meant to enlighten the fact that other people are also waiting, without getting any info, or express shipping, or free stuff. It just shows, and also highlights your own comment that apple reps probably know nothing about what's going on, and in which order the computers are produced.
Personally I don't trust everything apple customer service tells me:)

Ordered January 15th from UK Education Apple Store for delivery to Central London, UK.
Changed from Processing to Preparing Shipment and then Shipped on the 1st of February.
UPS tracking states that it will be delivered by EOD on the 6th of February.

22 days from order to delivery (hopefully) - not too shabby. :)

Specs are:
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC TRACKPAD-Z

im obsessively watching a flight tracker watching a small yellow plane works its way across Asia.

I think I ought to step away now.

22 days is good. it took 22 days for mine to go to preparing.

beginning to end is looking like about 30

hang in there people :)

Yeah. I deserved it though, lol, no need to apologize. I think what frustrated me the most is that I was the one to originally bring the shipped upgrade on here based on what I was told by Apple, and that it didnt pan out, meaning because of the misinformation or plain out lies, I got other people's hopes up on the forum here, only for them tk be let down when they saw/see their tracking. Im really appreciative of the SuperDrive, so now Im just a bit mad at myself for making myself look like such an idiot. Also, Im going to remove the "freebie" next to the SuperDrive in my signature. Cause that doea sorta screams "d**khead". Thanks for putting me in my place, lol. We all learn stuff every day and gain respect and responaibilty.

BTW all. Keep positive about getting your iMac and getting it defect free. Remember, people that have the issues yell louder than the people that dont, so of course you're going to see quite a few people on here having defects, but thats compared to how many people that have already bought iMacs? We represent a very small number of those people. Enjoy everyone! I hope your machines get to you soon!!

I got a "freebie" superdrive and free express shipping without causing too much of a stink on the phone with an Apple rep, but this thing's not cheap and waiting for 3 weeks to get a computer is stretching it even though it's a new model. I mean, it's not like ordering a custom build car off the assembly line...or is it...But the fact is Apple is making what...Billions!!! So the product should be readily available to the consumer to keep up the rapport...

Did I receive a defect free computer and should I be happy even though I had to wait...maybe...I mean I barely hear the fan on this thing, the screen is great, wireless keyboard is nice to type on, trackpad = awesome, colors and contrast on the screen = more awesomeness...Will the WD hard drive as part of the fusion drive hold up for 5 yrs...hope so.

My first computer was the Commodore 64, so I've been there done that with computers, but IMHO this iMac is the most awesome piece of machinery I've ever used - Yes even better than that Apple IIe in a high school class many moons ago...:p Well, I'm just rambling now, but the point is, it's OK to be frustrated with the experience of trying to get the 27" iMac into your hands, but once you or anyone gets a "perfect" one on their desk, I believe the past frustrations will all be a memory and he/she will undoubtedly enjoy it beyond their expectations. I know I am and I haven't even gotten X-plane on this thing yet! ;)

Yeah. I do wish that I had actually received the shipping upgrade like they told me I did. I could have possibly had it before Monday, maybe Saturday, but most likely Monday. No big deal really on the delivery time, because it's giving me an Estimate of February 6th. But that's only if there's no hold up in Anchorage like a lot of people have been reporting, which would add another day to my shipping time, and would possibly screw me some, unless I would be able to have it successfully held at the local operating facility to where I could pick it up at 9:00am, instead of having it go out on the truck. That way I can bring it home and be assured that it's safe and delivered, because Thursday I am going to be away from the house all day until the evening. The express shipping would have been cool just because of the fact that its avoiding Anchorage all together, even if it didn't deliver until the 6th, just so it wouldn't get held up that extra day. But, there's no point in worrying about it yet, as nothing has happened yet.

As of now, my iMac is still at a Shanghai FedEx facility. Is that the facility at the airport, meaning my iMac is waiting to get on a plane or possibly on a plane now? Or is it just another facility? Because the tracking update before this stated that it "Left FedEx Origin facility, Shanghai".. So I'm pretty clueless.

EDIT: I just checked my tracking page again, and decided to try and select the option to have it held for pick up at the local operating facility. It opened the pop up window but told me that "this option wasn't available for my shipment". So either it's going to be loaded onto a truck at the Cocoa, FL operating facility for delivery, or with Apple, FedEx must make at least one delivery attempt before it can be help at a facility. Hopefully if it DOES get delayed until Thursday, when it doesn't get delivered because I won't be home, I'll be able to pick it up that evening, hopefully, but I don't know. Because I don't even think I'm going to be around Friday either, lol.

When it's on a plane you should see a entry that says 'In transit' with a location of Shanghai. I also had an entry right before that one on my tracking page that said 'International shipment release'. Those two entries were a minute apart, so they might both show up at the same time.

I had to rush home this morning from work after I saw it said "on truck for Delivery" - got home 15 minutes before it got delivered at 10:30 this morning - should have seen me cursing the slow people in front of me coming home! No hold option for me either.

After "left fedex origin", it has to say " international shipment release" then "in transit" for the next one. The in transit means it's on the plane and either going to do the Shanghai to Anchorage or direct to Memphis route.

I would call your local pickup fedex facility and see if you can work something out with them. Fedex seems to be more about catering the average customer more than in the past. I think in the old-school days it was more a business delivery service, but seems to be more average consumer friendly nowadays.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that mine is waiting to get on a plane then, because it was picked up after the FedEx cut-off time. Right after that it said "Left FedEx Origin Facility", and today I just got an update at like 11am today that says "At Local FedEx Facility", though the scan time for that shows 10:00pm. So I'm assuming it's China time. Also it sort of baffles me, since it's been a day, usually the ones that get picked up after the cut off time at least show an update that they arrived in Anchorage the next night. I'll have to wait and see.

Can some people possibly post screen caps or copies of their FedEx tracking pages? I want one to study. In particular I'm looking for one where the iMac was picked up after FedEx's cut off time, and is shipped via Standard Shipping.. I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a screencap I took of mine last night. Because of the time/date change from crossing the International Date Line the Anchorage times will look out of place, but I had it set to local scan time. You can still use all of the Shanghai entries to gauge how long it took between each step. You also notice that mine was one that went to Japan before Anchorage, but from what I can tell, that only adds an hour or two to the trip to Anchorage.

Oh, and 24 hours later, I still have the same Commercial Invoice delay, and I've missed all three flights heading to Memphis tonight.

Average Ship Time for U.S. (February)

Whats the average time people are receiving their iMacs after ordering?

The store currently shows 4 weeks from order to delivery.

Are folks in the U.S. receiving them exactly 3 weeks from online ordering?

Just want to see if posted shipping times are conservative, with folks receiving them sooner than published.

Thanks!

It took me 18 days from order to box opening...Mine is a stock high end model (don't know if that mattered) and it took 2 days to go from China to Long Island, NY doorstep. It did a Shanghai to Memphis, Memphis to JFK, drive to local Fedex facility, on truck to deliver path. My original delivery dates were Feb 8th - 15th.

I'm thinking I grouped into a large NY area order for custom builds, and NY city and two Long Island Apple store orders/deliveries.
