Wow! That would be awesome for you!

I am expecting the dates to change once the plane has landed and been emptied. Let me know if you get a more concrete delivery date after it has landed?

it would be if i was actually able to be here at 9am Monday. Im doing the school run
Ive got plans to leave notes on door with promises of a 'small bonus' if he/she comes back!

I'll let you know. :)

FINALLY... preparing for shipment:)

And you ordered on the Jan 16th, Great for you, Megaoctane, yours shipped. You are so lucky. I ordered on 15th of Jan and still in processing. This is why Apple's shipping priority does not make sense to me. Why not finish all the others on the dates before moving on to the next date ordered. It is a bit frustrating to say the least.

Today is my 18th day and most orders are being shipped 18-21 days however Lucky Megaoctane got his movement on his order on the 17th day. Go Figure.

Go on Apple, Ship mine already... This wait is killing me.

I just noticed that my bank authorized a $30.00 preauthorization. The first time was over $2700 dollars then it dropped off, so I wonder if that is a sign mine is going to be shipped soon. I would have thought that they would have just charged the whole thing then prepare to ship. Why authorize only $30?

But I hope this is the next step so they can finally ship mine today.

Basically what's happening is that it's still in transit, so you need to actually call FedEx themselves to arrange to pick it up. The button should be grayed out imo until it arrives at your local distribution center since it tends to be misleading. They don't need to make a delivery attempt as long as it's in their distribution center.

I had a really good experience this time around with FedEx (knock on wood). I was following the order and it appeared quite suddenly from Memphis to a place not 10 minutes away from me. Filled out the pre-authorization to have it left but then saw a message how it missed the courier and wouldn't be delivered. Call to customer service to find out what was happening, who called the center themselves. Lady at the Dist. center called me and apologized but told me I wouldn't be able to pick it up until the next day. She then said she'd go try finding it to put aside. 45 minutes later she calls me saying she was sorry but it was already out for delivery and that she could message the driver to return if I wanted. I was pretty surprised and told her hell no and to keep on driving to my home. Then I explained how my doorbell is broken but there was an authorization out there with instructions. She said she knew exactly what it was and would never risk that, so offered to have the driver let her know when he was nearby and she'd call me so I could go down and wait. 15 minutes later, she called. 5 minutes later the delivery guy showed up. 1 minute later he left and I threw my back out not realizing how heavy it actually was when I went carry it upstairs.

I don't know. All I know is that the button is available to click, but when I click it, it says that my shipment isn't eligible for that option. Usually whenever I have a FedEx shipment, I can't place the Hold For Pickup request any time. I think usually the reason for this in my situation is because it's going to be put on a truck for delivery from the Cocoa, FL facility, rather than the one a mile away from me here in Melbourne, FL on Dow Rd. I actually can't go into the FedEx location to request that they hold it personally for a couple reasons. First, I don't know if it's going to that specific location, Second, the last time I went in personally to try to make the request, they told me just to do it online. So I don't know if they'd be willing to help me out.

--------------

I wish the tracking information wasn't entered so crazy like. I can never pin down exactly what time my iMac was at a certain location, because FedEx doesn't put the time zone next to the time, and whenever I use the drop down menu for either "Origin, Destination or Local Scan Time" or even if I select "Other - Eastern Standard Time", it all just doesn't make sense. Because, well, it gives me scan times like 02/02/2013: 2:20pm-International Shipment Release Import ; 3:28pm-In Transit..... I mean, I'm safe to say that NOW, my iMac is on a plane, or it went onto a plane whenever this updated. But, I really can't make sense of this all. Usually I have no trouble following USPS along with HK Post and such...

EDIT: I think that FedEx's scan times for the Destination are actually my scan times, but they are delayed a day because of the international date line. Maybe FedEx's system for converting the scan time they receive to your time doesn't take that in account, therefor it thinks it's a day later. I don't know really.... LOL - I'm thinking possibly my iMac could be on the plane right now that is in transit from Narita Int'l in Japan, to Anchorage. Because that is the only flight to Anchorage from that airport, and from what I've seen, the Standard Shipping ones stop at this airport in Japan before heading to Anchorage. It really would make sense, because today FedEx wil update stating that it's in Anchorage.

.

My iMac is probably not as highly configured as yours. Maybe that might be the reason? I ordered the base 27" with 1 TB Fusion Drive, and yours is a high end with 3TB Fusion drive?

That very well could be it indeed. But actually I did order the 3TB HD but with NO FUSION. I did not want the fusion with all the trouble some people are having with it when reformatting at time. Wonder if that sets me apart from even more remotely chance of getting mine soon or not. Since I ordered a 3TB with no fusion which is not among the most common ordered I may have to wait even longer huh?

THAT would be weird. Maybe they are working with scandinavian orders right now? As languages/Country kits and electricity outlets are different from UK and the US?
I don't think anybody besides logistics at Foxconn and Apple know the truth...

So yeah. The videocard of my (hopefully soon to be old) iMac died completely today. Can only boot in Safe Mode (yay for still being able to take backups!).

These are going to be 3-4 long weeks.

I looked at the departure board for Shanghai Pudong. Look for a flight leaving at 11pm direct to Heathrow. The flight number is Y87487. Or it should be

Ill look too . The flight number sounds weird.

I'd love to prove my guess, but my computer has been sitting in Anchorage for two days now waiting for correct import paperwork. :D

And after a full 48 hours of sitting in Anchorage needing a proper commercial invoice my computer was finally cleared for importing into the US! I guess when I was choosing preinstalled software I checked the 'Top Secret Chinese Military Codes' option. I just hope that FedEx keeps the same flight schedule as last Saturday where there were three flights that left Anchorage to Memphis in the afternoon. If not, my computer doesn't leave until Monday morning.

i even ordered express shipping and paid an additional $30 which apparently at the moment does no good to me. However i did get a strange authorization of $30 only not the $2733.00 that i ordered from Apple. This authorization came on Feb 1st (yesterday) yet still no change in my status: Still Processing. . .

You know once I got thinking about this, it would seem to me that since i am not getting the Fusion Drive that it should be faster to put together therefore shipping ahead of the others. WRONG.... seems the case here. Maybe they have all these with Fusions already lined up and don't have one without the Fusion and that will take longer. Is that logical?

Thanks. I've looked and I can only see from 12:00am on Sunday onwards....guessing it's already left but I've no idea what the flight number is as that one doesn't work...

That actually makes more sense. As when I looked for the flight number all I was getting was lux air stuff. So the fact that its going to Lux first ties in

Although it doesn't tie in with the flight number, I've found this which looks like it could be the flight...due to leave at 11:55pm:

CV 6997 Has Not Yet Departed
Flight: (CV) Cargolux Airlines International 6997
Departure: (PVG) Shanghai Pudong International Airport
Arrival: (LUX) Luxembourg Airport
Duration: 840 minutes
Status: Flight has not departed.

Ok. Have you tried the other way?
Look at arrivals at LUX for the flight number ?
