Did you order express delivery?
And after a full 48 hours of sitting in Anchorage needing a proper commercial invoice my computer was finally cleared for importing into the US! I guess when I was choosing preinstalled software I checked the 'Top Secret Chinese Military Codes' option. I just hope that FedEx keeps the same flight schedule as last Saturday where there were three flights that left Anchorage to Memphis in the afternoon. If not, my computer doesn't leave until Monday morning.
2/02/2013 - Saturday
8:28 pm In transitSHANGHAI CN
7:19 pm International shipment release - Import SHANGHAI CN
1:45 pm International shipment release - Import ANCHORAGE, AK
12:46 pm Arrived at FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK
If I'm to believe FedEx, my iMac was in Anchorage, but is now back in Shanghai. WTF?
How have y'all waited 3-4 weeks for your iMac to ship? I'm only 3 days in and am already going crazy haha. Its gonna be a long month
Does seeing "International shipment release - Import" for Anchorage mean that everything is cleared and I won't have a clearance delay? I noticed on your tracking it didn't say that for Anchorage, it only said it for Shanghai... Glad to hear that your shipment has finally cleared!
From what I can tell, yes. Once my clearance delay disappeared it was replaced with a line that said 'International shipment release - Import' for Anchorage. Now I'm just hoping it makes it onto a flight leaving this afternoon. The first one left about 20 minutes ago, and there should be one or two more.
Are you referring to FedEx 14? I think my iMac MAY be on there, because it scanned at International Shipment Release - Import at 1:38pm AKST, and the flight left at 3:58pm AKST. The flight arrives in Memphis at 12:21am CST, so hopefully I'll know tomorrow whether it's in Memphis or not. If it is in Memphis tomorrow, then I MIGHT possibly get it early? Depending on whether or not it goes on a truck from Memphis to come to Florida, or if it actually goes on another plane from Memphis to Orlando, FL. Because I've seen those FedEx flights from Memphis TN to Orlando FL. Going on a flight to Orlando tomorrow would probably mean that I'll get it earlier than Wednesday. If all goes SUPER well, maybe Monday, but more likely Tuesday if it's going to be early at all.
There are now three flights in the air from Anchorage to Memphis.
- FDX14 - Due in at 12:21am CST
- FDX5060 - Due in at 12:51am CST
- FDX12 - Due in at 1:54am CST
Hopefully both of ours are on one of those. Mine doesn't actually say 'In transit', so I'm not sure. I guess we'll both know in about 5-6 hours.![]()

Hey, check your tracking. My tracking just updated with "5:27pm - Department FedEx location - Anchorage, AK"... So it looks like mine's on a plane as we speak. That was about an hour and a half ago, that it departed, as it's 6:56pm in Anchorage right now. Let's see if I can see which flight it's on...
You beat me too it by two minutes!
That means it should be on FDX12 due into Memphis at 1:47am.
Mine has been preparing since yesterday. Wondering when it will be shipped. Are they waiting for card authorization?
I have now got tracking info and its UPS that are delivering my new iMac tomorrow
I keep seeing posts about people with problems, the screen with image retention, yellow tint, Fusion drive problems and so on. Now i'm wondering if i should of waited 6 months or so for Apple to of ironed out the problemsthe last thing i want is to get back from Uni tomorrow to find a brand new iMac with problems
is anyone thinking the same or am i just being paranoid?

mine should arrive tomorrow too.
let me put it like this:
my husband told me that if its faulty please could I call him to let him know so he knows to stay away
i am trying to be positive, but i know I would be very upset if it were faulty.
having said all that, I'm not going to go looking for faults, because i know damn well if i do I'll find them. so just a quick check cosmetically and that the specs are right, and then I'll use it.

its great to see that people's orders are now moving faster. I think it might just be a little paranoia, there are a few posts about problems on the forum, but what we don't know is how many problems there are compared to how many people who HAVEN'T had problems. Considering i have spent around £2301.80 i want a perfect machine that will last for at least 4-5 years
Just out of interest what specs did you order? i got the following one:
3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X8GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
Apple Magic Mouse + Magic Trackpad
Apple Wireless Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Apple Battery Charger
Accessory Kit
I hope its going to be worth the wait
my order is in my sig. also the fact that orders are moving faster is good, as if by any chance we do get duff ones then we wont have to wait so long for replacements
My accessories have cost nearly as much as the damn iMac !
i'm probably replacing mine in 2 years so I can sell with a year of Applecare left for a decent price and buy a new one. I am hoping i can have pure SSD by then.and the prices have come down
768 wasn't enough internal storage for me, so i ended up with a compromise. a 1Tb fusion and an external RAID ssd stack.
Yea they do seem to be moving faster nowmine is sitting in a depot in Tamworth at the moment until tomorrow when it will be "Out for delivery"

Accessories i got were just the Apple USB SuperDrive and the Apple battery charger because of the trackpad, magic mouse and keyboard didn't fancy having to keep using throw away batteries.
I think my setup will be fast enough for what i will use it for Photoshop, general everyday use and some Final Cut Pro editing for university) I hope i have "future proofed" it a little at least. Being a university student i got the HE discount which helped a lot. I have never owned an iMac before so i'm happy about tomorrow![]()
once you go Mac you never go back
you are in for a real treat.
I cant believe the waiting is nearly over.
Though apparently mine just nipped back to Abu Dhabi.maybe it forgot its power lead.
The tracking is utter rubbish!

I thought I would say Hi!
Lurking on this forum for the last couple of weeks has helped keep me sane, wondering where on earth my new iMac is!
The tracking info leads me to believe it's somewhere between Shanghai and London, possibly stopping off in Abu Dhabi. And why not? The weather's a lot better there right nowI did fill in the spreadsheeet too.
My iMac seems to be part of a consignment of 10 orders so maybe its on a flight with yours![]()
