I agree, it's been 5 days for me and I'm going INSANE!

Take a look in the thread about people buying them from resellers.
Soon makes you feel better! There's still a few ordered in December that haven't been delivered. They paid in full and have no idea when their iMac will turn up

It seems that resellers really got stiffed this time around. I dont know if it's just because the customer has already paid for their iMac in that case, therefor the reseller and Apple (I assume Apple also), already have their money, and aren't worried about getting those orders out in fear of the customer cancelling the order... Has it been like this for every release of an Apple product? Where resellers are getting boned?

Help me track my iMac

My order was shipped and FedEx tracking shows:

2/04/2013 - Monday 12:02 am In transit SHANGHAI CN

2/03/2013 - Sunday 11:23 pm International shipment release -Import SHANGHAI CN

2/02/2013 Saturday 2:24 pm Left FedEx origin facility SHANGHAI CN
1:08 pm Picked up SHANGHAI CN

2/01/2013 Friday 11:29 pm Shipment information sent to FedEx

I don't see any FedEx flights headed for the US today. I live in Seattle, WA. Scheduled delivery is Wednesday 02/06. Shipment has been sitting since late Friday night PST.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.....:D

Did you get Standard or Express Shipping? Check FlightAware.com, and do a search for FedEx flights (FDX). This will show you what is airborn currently. Then go through the list and find the plane that is departing from Shanghai, and arriving in Anchorage. I forget which flights make this trip but there are three, I believe.. You tracking will show "International Shipment Release - Import", and then after that it will show "In transit" as a tracking update. That means that your iMac is now on a plane for Anchorage. Then once it's in Anchorage, which is will say "Arrived at FedEx location", keep an eye on your tracking for an update saying "International Shipment Release - Import" for the Anchorage location. That means everything is ok and you wont get a clearance delay like some people have been having.. Then you'll get an update that says "Departed FedEx Location" which means your iMac is now on a plane. So at that point you are going to want to check FlightAware for flights leaving Anchorage, and see where they are arriving. If there's a flight that's arriving close to your area, then chances are your iMac is on that flight. I live on the Eastern side of the US, in Florida, so mine went from Anchorage to Memphis, TN, where it is now.

Thanks for the help. I checked all flights that have departed and there are no FedEx flights that departed or scheduled to depart to the US. There was an American Airlines flight that left a few minutes after my last scan on the tracking.
Is it possible it shipped on another airline?

This is very weird!!

It's nearly here...

My UPS shipment was scanned in Koeln, Germany 20 minutes ago. Just the final airborne leg to Heathrow to go, then by roado Gloucester, and on to my desk! :D

I don't see any FedEx flights leaving Shanghai either. Looking at the FedEx 90 history, it looks like it doesn't fly on Sundays, so it might be scheduled to be on that flight tomorrow. Unless it leaves on a flight later on today to Anchorage.

There are typically three flights that US bound iMacs find themselves on. Those leave Shanghai between 9pm and 11:30pm Shanghai time each weekday plus Saturday. It is currently 2:30am in Shanghai on Monday morning so you probably won't see another change until late tonight at the earliest.

If you are lucky your iMac will get on FDX90 which is a direct flight to Memphis. Most likely though you'll end up going through Anchorage and then on to Memphis. FDX28 goes from Shanghai to Anchorage. Then there is a flight that goes to Narita, Japan (I don't know that flight number). From there it goes on FDX24 to Anchorage. Both arrive around noon Anchorage time.

Once in Anchorage there are two or three mid-afternoon flights to Memphis that it could hop on. (Note that there have been at least three of us who had their iMac held up for two days because of wonky import paperwork, but we seem to be a very small percentage of all iMacs going through Alaska.) Those flights typically get to Memphis between midnight and 1am Memphis time.

I can not decipher if my imac is in Luxembourg or En route to Heathrow.

Sure a few in here will have the same flight number as me: 87487? Any ideas?

Also where it says 'Requested Delivery Date' is that delivery to me? Booking my days off work tomorrow and don't want to be off with no imac as it'll be a waste.

Thanks people.

ok i have several dates

one is Apples estimated date from the 'my orders' shipping page that says 08.02

then the requested delivery date is 05.02

then the actual estimated delivery date is 9am 04.02

book a day off work? I wouldn't until you knew it was out for delivery that day, perhaps you can call UPS to ask them the evening before?

i'll go an see if I can hunt down your flight. mine was missing details on the first leg to AD but it is finally definitely confirmed as being in London now.

on my tracking i have 2 words one is arrived another delivered. so i am assuming one is arriving at the next point in the journey and delivered is delivered to me.

edited to add:

ok Mike i don't think you will find your flight before tomorrow, its not due to land at Heathrow from Luxembourg until 11am tomorrow morning. i didn't look to see what time the flight was due to leave Lux but you will be able to use either Lux airport departures board online if its a passenger flight or Flightradar after about 10am tomorrow.

I don't get it. My order now says Shipped Feb 1st, but the Shipment Status screen shows an Estimated Delivery Date of Feb 11th? Huh? Plus there's no fancy tracking information available whatsoever. I'm in the UK. Have other UK customers had the same experience? Seems very sloooooooow to me.

mine was 'shipped' thursday reality is it didn't move until Friday/saturday ( cant remember) and only actually arrived at Heathrow a couple of hours ago, having spent a nice day or so in the sun in Abu Dhabi. My apple estimated delivery date is the 8th. but expeditors says tomorrow.
i think its a worst case scenario guesstimate and i think once its in the UK you will see that change.

fancy tracking isa available by sticking your 82 number into Expeditors.com

Brilliant stuff! I wish I could hold off on booking a day off work but I can't do that. My biggest fear is taking the 7th off which is what is under 'Requested Delivery Date' and no iMac showing up. I can deal with it being delivered earlier as I can get re-delivery for the 7th.

You are right with not landing until 11am tomorrow. I guess around noon tomorrow I will have a clearer picture. Damn deliveries and their unflexable behavior.

Where are you seeing you Actual Estimated Delivery?

on expeditors.com there are tabs. one says timeline one says events.
the estimated delivery date is at the top of the timeline one, i think.

i just had another look at yours. its definitely in Lux now, and probably will get a flight tomorrow due to land at Heathrow at that time, but my flight number and estimated departure times were slightly out. only the arrival time was exactly right. it said it would be on EY19 and it was on EY17 (confirmed) the departure time was estimated at 12.30 but it wasn't even due to leave 'til 13.45 and didn't leave til 14.20.

so watch out for the estimates being wrong.
I am pretty sure that most people are getting them a day ahead of estimated delivery dates.

i clearly have too much time on my hands :)

Yes the orders appear to be taking a while to get from Shanghai to UK. My order shipped on Thurs 31st Jan. However it didn't leave on a flight until Feb 2nd - it landed in Abu Dhabi this morning (3rd). Due on a flight to Heathrow tomorrow arriving at 12.30pm 4th Feb. Estimated delivery date is 8th.

Use the expeditors website or app to track your shipment using the 'our delivery reference number' from the apple tracking screen.

Haha thanks for the info. I'm going to try and book off Thursday & Friday off anyway. Hopefully it will get delivered then if not I shall rearrange it, even paying a little extra to get it quicker.

These last few days are mental. I mistakenly had a play of one in the apple store at the weekend....noooo :D

My iMac was shipped friday the 1st of february, when I checked the receipt online its says on top:

HollyHill Industrial Estate
HollyHill,Cork
Ireland

Does this mean that my iMac was assembled in Ireland?

If it was assembled in Ireland, the delivery time would be shorter than if it was assembled in China.

Im living in Sweden.

some certainly are being assembled in Irelands from reports online

However from memory my last Apple purchase receipt came from ireland, just the paperwork though, not the product.

you can check the origin of the consignment? also when it does arrive check where it was assembled as it will be written on the back.
