Haha this is why I'm holding out on a replacement. I have slight chip whine/hiss and the machining issue on my Plus but otherwise it is perfect - especially the screen. I have a feeling a replacement will be worse.

I have it aswell over the 4 sides but i dont care. Its better to have it everywhere instead of 1 side imo.
Same idea but i wont replace. I know in my country people wouldnt see it. I sold my full damaged iphone 6s plus for 600 euros which is a lot for the amount of scratches and damage it had. Lol.
I have it all 4 sides and according to apple.. I've had replacement devices wether it was new or refurbished.. they looked legit brand new... so.. it's fine..
I'm wait it out where they'll have some in the back for situations like this... plus the irregularity if it's visible in a specific light I doubt you'll see it on daily use

its just annoying that there are ones out there without the issue...I honestly shouldnt care as much as I am on the upgrade program.
But maybe they got bad screens or hissing. There can be so many issues

Yeah, I think the JB is a last minute decision because i didnt see any rumors about it. But i still like the JB more then the normal black.
I dont regret getting it however it appears that most if not all of the jet blacks suffer from this issue. However its just on the left side on my current phone, all the other sides are perfect.
I know in my country if you sold a phone with a lot of scratches and damages, you'd be considered MBD Level 10 (10 being highest).
However, "N" may be brand new or remanufactured. Most likely still brand new at this point.
I don't think there's any such thing as an "F" iPhone because Apple doesn't sell refurbished iPhones in the Certified Refurbished Store. You may however find "F" iPods and iPads as they do offer them for sale directly in the store. Either way, it's for allocation purposes only because all remanufactured and refurbished iDevices get a brand new shell (meaning screen and case) and battery.
Yeah so I think as long as you get a device in a timely matter this year swapped. I think we all may have new till end of year
I went to the Genius Bar today regarding this issue. The person helping couldn't see it even when I showed him a picture and this thread to help him know what to look for. He called another agent to see if she can see it and they both couldn't even with me pointing it at them. For me all 4 of my sides have this and it's something that cant be unseen once you've seen it.
Anyways, he did say even if he can see it he can't just give me a replacement unit because it's considered "cosmetic damage" even though I tried to explain to him that it's not done by me. At the end he did order an replacement unit for me and at this point I don't really know if it's worth it to even get it replaced because maybe it's really not a big deal and won't damage my resell value a year later.

This is why it's important to document the issue with them directly as soon as you notice it..because several people have had this flaw called "cosmetic damage" when it is not. It is a machining fault. I hope your replacement solves the issue!
