i would hate to see these people's cars that are up in arms over this.
Point is, JB iPhone can be easily scratched. Face the facts. Even Apple warned us.
Hope you don't say that to your other half as he/she agesA beautiful object that accumulates wear is no longer beautiful.
No they didn't. They said it would SHOW microabrasions. Nowhere did they say it be more easily scratched.
You need to stop making **** up.
"The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."
This thread is about the Jet Black iPhone 7. It scratches easily.
After handling a friend's jet black phone I have to say I am more impressed by how it feels in the hand than how it looks. The grip is perfect and what has been missing from the design. The 6 was the first iPhone I used a case on long term because it was so slippery. Glad to be able to go back to a naked phone.
I saw it in person today. It does look like plastic in some ways but more so like glass. It was quite striking. It looks like the all glass slab that Jony is said to be dreaming of. It was very hard to see the antenna lines on it. There were no scratches on the demo unit at the Best Buy despite it being stuck on those horrible springy tethers that try to pull it out of your hands. That's my feeling, it looks like plastic. Gives it the feel of a phone from 2010 when they were all shiny plastic. BUT I say that without having seen one in person, I may change my mind and they may look incredible in person. But even in videos they look plasticky. I ordered the matte black one which IMO has a metallic, premium look. Plus the first thing that goes on my iphones is a matteskin full body skin so it will be matte no matter what.
Did it get scratched by holding it like all the debbie downers are warning us about? Maybe your breath caused a microabrasion?
Apple better recall these before the scratches and microabrasions cause them to fall apart.
Who in the world would store their caseless $800-$900 phone in a toolbox full of wood screws and razor blades?
Dumbest video ever...
Synonyms of 'abrasion' are scrape, scratch, graze, etc. 'Micro' just means small. It's just a fancy way of saying that it scratches easily.
I'm not trying to deter anyone. Can't you read my posts correctly? That's my point, you are trying to deter people from the JB when the video you posted shows the person scratching a JB phone with objects that can scratch any phone unless its made of sapphire or diamonds.
It's a pointless video and misleading. Where's the scratch video of him doing the same scratch tests with a matte black phone?
If you don't want a JB phone don't buy one, but don't try and deter people who actually take care of their devices by saying it will scratch for no reason.
I think most of these posts are from people who wanted a JB phone and settled for matte due to the wait time. Now justifying their impatience they are posting negativity about the phones.
Yes Apple warned us, consider us warned and leave it at that.

Matte black also looked great because that one also blended the antenna lines very well.
I'm torn between jet black, matte black and silver. I prefer the silver aluminum Nike Watch and wanted to color coordinate the iPhone to it. Also this might be the last year to get a silver and white iPhone and I always wanted one but never went for it. Once it was because AT&T didn't have any and I got stuck with space gray. But the antenna lines are so ugly and the camera lens looks more prominent.
On the matte black and jet black especially there are no such distractions and it looked really wicked. I wear a lot of black clothes. It would look great with my black accessories and clothes.
I am not sure I'll use a case this time around. If I get a skin and a screen protector that may be all I need. Smaller iPhones are easier to hold than iPhone Plus and Note 7's and everything else I've gotten used to hanging onto for dear life. Without a case the IPhone 7 is close in size to my SE with its thicker cases.
LoL, classic denial. No they didn't. They said it would SHOW microabrasions. Nowhere did they say it be more easily scratched.

And, again, you miss the point. Despite your visit to the thesaurus, Apple still never said it "abrades, scrapes, scratches, grazes," easily. The keyword you're having trouble with is, "shows."
I've never skinned a phone before. I'm going to look them up. Whatever color I get, I think I want to skin it this time. I'm afraid I would be terrible at putting one on, though. Do some places skin them for you? (Yikes, it sounds like we are going to hunt and eat these iPhones!)Yeah I got to fondle one in person, my fears were founded and it did feel and look like plastic. That's only my personal opinion and I'm not trying to ruffle anyones feathers. Comparing it to a glass back I noticed the glass back felt like glass, cold and hard. It's a moot point anyhow as I usually skin my phones. The mattskin from skinomi looks awesome on the matte black, but would waste the JB finish.
I take it you conducted a survey? Not sure I understand the whole point of this thread. 99.9 percent of the Jet Black buyers were aware of micro abrasions. It seems for whatever reason some people want to trash other peoples choice of phone.

If I have to explain that to you, you're probably challenged to use the phone in the first place. Can you please explain the difference between a phone that "shows scratches" vs. a phone that "scratches more easily"?
Thanks.
If you want the Jet Black make sure you get a case.Between a 128 gig iPhone 7 jet black and a 32GB 7 plus matte black which would be better ?I have OCD about scratches
