I think the fine scratches on the back are just like the ones you get on the screen. You only see them if you're looking for them and shining the light just right. I honestly think it's a non-issue.

The look of the Jet Black is unparalleled greatness. I know that's subjective though.

The grippiness, however, is much superior to the 6s I had and the other finishes of the 7. Holding one you can immediately tell that it doesn't slide out of your hand nearly as easily as the others.

I honestly think the OCD crowd is missing out. The Jet Black iPhone 7 is the best looking phone I've ever used and it performs like a champ.
You still using it naked then?

Of course, the jetblack is the best looking. However, many can't stand to see any scratches on black. Once we know it's there, we always see them unless we cover them up. Some people just don't care about scratches or broken screens, but many do ;)

Yeah, it's why I referenced the OCD crowd lol. They're just fine scratches like on SS watches and on iPhone screens. You don't see them unless you're really trying to.

Funny thread - In the finish business (which I'm in - cabinets/furniture) the 2 most dreaded finishes are Gloss black and white. There's no light space for any imperfection to hide.
That's on wood. Metal is even more insane. I'll give Apple credit - the thing looks amazing out of the box. Want it perfect? Don't Use It ;)

What a ridiculous video. Obvious anything you put a key or screw for that matter is going to scratch it. This should be labeled a scratch demonstration, not a test.
The iPhone got scratched when he took it out of his pocket....

Apple wasn't kidding when they warned us about the jet black iPhone 7's being prone to scratches. I'm positive that you'll eventually find scratches on your jet black baby even if you use a case since dirt and who knows what else will eventually make it's way inside. Beware OCD JB iPhone 7!

Dang I just firmly drug a razor blade across my matte black phone and it left a deep razor blade scratch in it. I thought only the jet black was susceptible to razor blades? Will I be able to exchange this razor blade magnet?

The moral of this story, don't drag razors, keys, coins, or any other metal objects across your phone of any color and you should be ok. Or in other words, don't be an idiot.

Just don't try and wipe it clean with anything abrasive like a shirt and you'll be fine, lol.

Actually I don't wipe my phone on my shirt, or my expensive sunglasses. I don't want to damage my sunglasses, shirt or phone.

Pretty much common sense to use a microfiber cloth for sunglasses as you would a phone. If you treat your items like crap, I guess you get what you get.

I also don't pick my teeth with my apple pencil, but apple didn't say you couldn't.

Im going to check my black lexus and see if a key will scratch it and post it to youtube. Ill let you know how it goes...

Point is, JB iPhone can be easily scratched. Face the facts. Even Apple warned us.

Did you watch the video?

The finish scratched from simply wiping with his shirt.

At the end of the day, and I got the matte black, but who really cares about scratches...it's a phone and is meant to be used.

A lot of people care about scratches otherwise Apple wouldn't have bothered with a disclaimer.

Unless you take care of the phone... my 6s+ looks flawless, not a scratch on it, it looks brand new. Take care of your items.

I would never put my phone in a pocket with keys, coins or razor blades. Are you saying oxygen is going to scratch the phone? Maybe an ear will scratch it while on a call?

Good lord, of course a metal object will scratch it, a screw will scratch any phone, go ahead and try...

Yea i know, but it's still just a phone. And those same people probably upgrade more often than the normal person. I don't really care either way, I'm enjoying being naked...phone that is.

This thread is about the Jet Black iPhone 7. It scratches easily.

Updated OP.

Videos like this are stupid. I can't believe how many people buy stuff just so they can mess it up in a YouTube video. They prove absolutely nothing. I take that back. They prove some people have more money that they know what to do with if they do stuff like that.

Go to the Apple shop and see how people have abused the JB and the black iphones on display.

One of the JB ones had a chip and the matte black one someone had drew a star on the back :D
