i really enjoy apple music. whats with the backlash here? I think its wonderful.
The app needs work, IMHO. Feels cluttered, messy.
Also, the matching frequently screws up, e.g. giving me a live song when mine clearly was studio.

He's leaving God.
Look what happened when Lucifer left God in the Christian faith.

By most of the posts here I see MR is full of under informed people on the subject of the music industry.
Losing Jimmy is a big blow to Apple.
You all need to go do some research on just who Jimmy Iovine is in that industry.
Dude, yes! Completely agree.Eddie Cue should join him..
Ignorance is bliss I guess.
Ummmmm Lucifer didn’t leave. He was shown the door because he got too uppity.
Goodbye Iovine, you will not be missed.
It took 2+ years but it's a good thing Apple realized their mistake and fired him.
Under Iovine's leadership, Apple music has seen strong growth since its debut, with the service now boasting more than 30 million subscribers.
Meanwhile in California..

Oh, his pockets are full now? Time to jump to the next sucker company, Jimmy. You true worthless quack.
In made sense. They needed to move iTunes from a “singles” shop to a streaming service.. and come out the top of the pack. As long as they keep the ok relationship with the industry, they should be good. Iovine seems more of a “deals” guy than a guy who promotes artists. Zane Lowe (if you like him) seems to be taking over the “new artist” angle.. getting new music on Apple Music to keep that streaming revenue subscription. And that keep the service going. It is fairly usual for the founders to cash in and leave at the end of the lock-in period. He's done well. Good luck to him.
From the outside, he seemed the strongest part of Beats, so him leaving reminds me of why the acquisition seemed an odd choice.
And you keep repeating the rhetoric that it was a bad idea. Never with any supporting evidence though. Why is that?Thank God. And there are still people out there claiming the Beats acquisition was brilliant. Good grief.
Totally agree! They have the media, the artists, and an ok Beats One... but the Apps to access those suck. iTunes was never great, but the apps on MacOS and iOS are rubbish. The whole line of services needs reworked with somebody that cares about user experience.Everyone responsible for the current state of iOS Music.app and iTunes should be fired.
Really? Cue oversees parts of Apple that pull in countless millions. Clearly he’s doing something right.Eddie Cue should join him..
It’s turning a profit. Which is more than Spotify can say. He'd probably do better there. Apple Music is a complete trainwreck.
Apple created a new service and brought over 30 million to it. Plus a very lucrative headphone business as well. Apple stands to gain plenty of cash from the deal.Thank God. And there are still people out there claiming the Beats acquisition was brilliant. Good grief.
Exactly. Apple became a key player in the streaming business in under 2 years and on its way to being a trillion dollar company. But they’re all a bunch of dopes according to the armchair CEOs around here.I’m sure his position was temporary and everyone at Apple knew he wouldn’t be there longer than needed. Reason why he never received an official title. Seems like he was hired on more of a contractual basis, kind of like a consultant so to speak. He helped get Apple Music going and didn’t plan on leaving until the product was a sure thing. I don’t get why folks don’t like him. Apple Music has been as successful as a music streaming service can be in a short amount of time. Think he has done a great job. As far as the “right fit” to be an Apple employee.....he was the right fit to help build Apple Music. That’s what matters.
why do you feel Dr.Dre needs to leave Apple?Good riddance. Apple Music is a mess and needs a complete restructuring. Dr. Dre - hopefully you’re next, along with Eddy Cue.
