This really strikes me as one of those things that they put off just to save time. It'll probably be something in 4.1 now that they've had a few more weeks to polish everything.

Save time? Huh? THREE YEARS and still no wireless file transfer between an iPhone and anything else. Not via Bluetooth, wifi or 3G.

How much time do they need?

Does anyone else get the eerie feeling like steve talks to us costumers sometimes like he is our daddy.

"Son dont ask questions about HD uploads, just do with what you have now and in the future you may get that feature. If your good"

Does Iphone have bluetooth tranmission yet? Like phone to phone or phone to computer?

Have you been living under a rock? The current iPhone is the best phone available today.

All these negative comments floating around makes it sound like a clunky Microsoft/Android device. The issues are actually pretty minor compared to how serious everyone else is trying to hype it up to be.

You are seriously insane. A "phone" that constantly drops calls for many many people (lucky you) has serious issues. Just because it works for you, doesn't make it a good phone. I've loved apple since my Apple II but I am really disappointed in this phone and their attitude.

And I am holding it right. Two fingers.

Exactly. The solution is to give out bumpers; it completely eliminates the problem. But Apple 1) won't admit to a mistake, 2) doesn't want to screw up the aesthetics of the phone, and 3) knows that the FB's would preorder 500,000 iTurds at $199 apiece.

Edit to add: and it's not like bumpers cost more than about 50¢ to make.

He has to be vague for accounting and legal reasons. Legally, if you say feature X will be version Y of the product or available by some date then you sell the product without feature X then the customer can say you owe them feature X and technically you cannot recognize revenue on it for accounting purposes until you deliver feature X. I have to be very careful where I work about always saying "it may be in a future release" or something to that effect. In fact the legal department drills that into us.

However, you are correct, the delivery of the short vague responses does make him sound like a father talking to his child.

Of course it is! Steve Jobs said so himself. You also forgot to mention that it's "magical" and "changes everything.. again".

All these negative comments floating around makes it sound like a clunky Microsoft/Android device.

Ahh.. those clunky Android devices.. the ones that can make Video calls without being tethered to WiFi.. the ones that you can use as WiFi hotspots.. and the ones that can actually make phone calls while placing your fingers anywhere you want to!

You mean the clunky Android phones that don't drop calls, make video calls over more than just wifi, and offer 4G speeds?

I'd have to drink an awful lot of the Kool-Aid to come remotely close to thinking that iPhone 4 was the best phone on the market.

How about a read of a credible news organisation reviewing it, such as the FT - they (as most of the people on this Apple fan site do) completely disagree with you.

Let's see... do I believe a newspaper or my own experience with tons of dropped calls? Hmmmm. Tough one.

And I'm holding the phone correctly.

Even if the phone itself has the capabilities, I wouldn't expect HD uploads coming anytime soon to the AT&T network. It takes almost two years from announcement to reality. Remember MMS? Remember tethering? How about copy paste? Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of 7.2 upgrade announced years ago. Where's that?

I can see a WIFI option added in the not to far future but over the cell network won't happen till 4G networks are built out!

Thats just the point, you shouldnt have to hold the phone a special way to get it to work. I've had dozens of cell phones and this is the first one that the manufacturer actually said I had to hold it a certain way or it wont work.

Great job of product design apple!!

They got so involved with making a nice screen they failed to do anything about the rest of the product and it suffers. You know apple knew about the problem, why else would they suddenly come out with just a little rubber bumper?

There's only one Android phone like that and it has horrible battery life (especially compared to the iPhone 4) and the video calls are very awkward to set up.

Mms took two months we have tethering and the 7.2 happened 7months ago. Where are you?

Well, since that was the number one feature that users have been demanding, one that kept 1.7M people from purchasing the latest iPhone in 3 days, I'd say Apple is stupid. Oh wait, it was another 1.7M people that wanted that feature.

Apple makes stupid decisions that prevent millions of people around the world from buying their products because the company lacks essential features which, by your claim, are actually so simply they are stupid from implementing them.

I guess they need a bit more time than THREE YEARS. Harumph.

Well, sign me up for your credible news organisation's publication! Will that be a yearly release of each issue? ;-)

You want to send HD video over 3G? That doesn't sound like a good idea, it would probably take too long and use a lot of data that goes against your quota, as well as sink your battery life. I'd say send SD over 3G if you must have it the timeliest way possible (SD would upload much faster too), upload HD from your computer.

Apple's paranoia and secrecy contributes to them not properly testing their phones off campus. When they take it off-campus for testing, they hide it in a case, which probably helped mask the problem such as this one.

Jobs line that "every smartphone does this" is an utter nonsense. I have tried hard as I might to reproduce iPhone signal loss issue on my EVO, and I am unable to.
