Has anyone ordered the Bronze color? I am really, really curious now as to how this case will look, considering how fab the silver has turned out.

Does it fold into a shape so you can watch videos? It doesn't show it like that on the site so I wasn't sure.

Also, what would people recommend, this or the STM Skinny?

dukhuc, thanks for posting pics on the silver. I ordered the silver, which will be delivered Monday, I hope. Anyway, looks good. I don't really like the slight white around the speaker grill. Not a fan at all actually. I don't think the case would look good without it, but yet the white almost looks too thick. I don't know, something about it just doesn't appeal to me. Maybe they should of done grey in the same material as the white that surrounds the speaker. I think I would of liked that more. But, I'll see when my case gets here. :) It doesn't look overly shiny which I'm happy about. I don't want to go blind by looking at it.

Overall its everything I want in a case.

By the time my case gets here, everyone will have theirs and this thread will be old news! :p

You're right. The first thing i don't like when looking the pics at their web is the trim. Look thick & why not make the same silver color? The way they made this case (offer some highlight at the trims & ports) almost way different than the other company which I rarely see two tone of colors. Well...This Silver/White really stand out at some point as you look at it. Should they put the words "Think different" on the back of the case?

Not too crazy about the trim around the port cutouts. It might just be the color contrast. Hopefully it will be less noticeable in the black one I am getting.

I think you've got the right color. Looking at pics from laurenr, the trim color almost match with the case and black one doesn't make you feels this case is too thick because of the "color contrast" as you mentioned.

For $20.00 cheaper its worth to consider which case should you pick huh. I did the same as you before i pulled the trigger on the joy. The reason is...The STM look little bunky and less quality compares to smartsuite 3. Which is the best for you? Looks. Feels or Budget? To me, SmartSuite 3 for the first two, STM for the last one. Hope You'll happy with your pick.

Here are some pictures of the White/Silver. I order on Monday and got it on Tue. It does smell strong when first open, but as of today, the smell pretty much gone. A bit shinny but not consider as a mirror. Over all, I really like it. I really want The Folio360 III. Hopefully i will get one when it available.

Oh be still my beating heart - I'm so glad I ordered the silver! Thanks for posting the pics.

I don't like the goofy strap on the Skinny. The only thing I don't like on this one is the price. Ordered the Coolermaster Choiix but if I end up not liking it i will probably order one of these.

Here is my pic of the iPad in the standing position for movie watching. You can see my others on page 4 of this thread:

I agree. I did look at the Skinny before ordering the Smartsuit. That strap would drive me nuts. That and I don't really care for how the back corners of the case are plastic and then there is that weird/odd material covering it. Kind of like an overlay? Not for me. Plus knowing the way I am, I'd try to open it fast and end up tearing or breaking that strap.

For me the smartsuit was a bit pricey, but then again for my iPad 2 the case was $50. So I figured with the 15% off plus the shipping it ended up being the same price for my new iPad, give or take $5.

:)

Congratulation! So now you know that your iPad will protect. I'm so glad I did too because you know why? This morning, my daughter she ran to me while saying Daddy look...when i looked at her, I saw the iPad flew ahead of her from 4 feet high and landed on the edge of the camera and volume side onto wood floor and flips around 3 or 4 feet until it bumps into the table..
The good thing is, the iPad and the case still remained intact. took out the case and see no damage on both case and iPad. Now i know something else that this case probably survive from such impacts. Hope it not happens to me again or for anyone.

dukhuc, does the sleep/wake function work properly on the silver case?? I know Laurenr mentioned that hers worked, I just want to see if all of their cases are working properly. :D

Kelly. I'm with her. It works. Worked nicely.;)

 WOW - that's why I got it -i was tempted by something a little less protective because I really really wanted the green smart cover from apple, but I really could not find a system that gave me the protection I would be more comfortable with.

I got my case today in black and my first impressions are very positive. It fits on the iPad 3 perfectly and is nice and slim. The sleep/wake works, the cover folds back nicely and stays secure in the open position with the magnet as well. The outer material has a nice texture to grip and the inner fabric is soft to protect the screen from scratches.

Joy Factory has also been very responsive, first when I emailed them to change my order from white/silver to black and again to check on the status of the order at the end of March after which they upgraded my shipping. Top notch company. This is a breath of fresh air after ordering my last case for my original iPad from Portenzo and all the issues I had with them.

I totally agree with how superb their customer service is. If I contacted them by email regarding my order, the response was within minutes. I called them too, and the rep spoke to me for a long time, going over the look of the various colors/models. They even offered to exchange the case for me if I discovered I would prefer a different color. I love the black though, and will keep it.:)

You were really lucky! A few weeks ago, my Husband dropped his iPad, which was in the Targus case. The iPad bounced right out of the case, shattering his screen.:( He was NOT a happy camper). On the bright side, it was his iPad 2, just before he received the new one. He ended up repairing it and giving it away.

Is it more stable in this position than the smart cover is?

Having never used the Apple Smart Cover, I cannot compare the two. The JF case is totally stable in the viewing position.:)

I Think I am having problems with mine. When folded BACK (iPad in use) the first section nearest the "hinge" sticks up about 1/8-1/4 of an inch. Because of that the front of the cover (where the magnets are) doesn't always stay "stuck" to the back. Anyone else noticing this?

That's what the old one used to do!

The fold you show is near the top of the case, by the seam. The magnets are at the bottom, so I don't think that would cause a problem for them. You must remember, that folding the cover back, the magnets on the back shell of the case will not be as strong as those on the front. The reason for this, is that every time you fold the cover back on itself, it would trigger the sleep/wake function, which would be annoying to say the least. I have seen this problem reported in other cases here on MacRumors, (where folding over the cover causes the constant on/off light). Wish I could remember specific manufacturers, but I don't.

Does yours fold back like mine does with the gap or does your lay flat? Or anyone else?

The problem is, due to the gap at the hinge end segment the cover segment at the other end does not go to the edge of the iPad. When I push down on the "gap" to flatten it, it stays "stuck" quite well. When it pulls back from the edge of the iPad (because of the lifting of the cover at the segment by the hinge) it doesn't stick half as well. Even if I "manually" flatten it it pops back up.

For $60 for a case that is realistically worth maybe $25-$30 I expect it to lay flat. The case is 10% of the cost of the iPad. I have a $5 case from eBay and a $10 "Poetic" case and they both are flat. I also had a $17 KHOMO case (very similar to this one) for my iPad 2 which was perfectly flat. Just like people who get an iPad expect it to be close to perfect, so should this case for $60. (IMO of course).

How come no one is showing a photo with the cover folded back? I'd like to see how flat theirs lies.

Hey guys,

Just wondering if this case fit iPad 2? Can anyone please try this?

Also, is it just me that getting this case to ship to Australia cost $46-$50 by FedEx sounds absolutely ridiculous, almost the cost of the case itself:eek:
