I Just discovered another really useful viewing angle that is only possible because of the 4-fold design of the front cover - great for having the iPad on your lap, or typing on a table. This would not be possible if the cover had only 3 folds:

This is what I need to do with mine! Maybe it'll eliminate the need to get that wedge pillow thing. *taking a mental note*

Got my bronze case. Struggling with accepting how glittery it looks. Not what you see in the photos. Besides that I LOVE the design. It feels just like a smart cover with a nice back to it. Quality feels really good and the magnets work great (front and back). Texture is nice to the touch and the smell is already getting better. Will post pics later when I get home.

Lauren, it works great!! Been using that angle all evening. Thanks so much! :D

:D I use the cover like that when lying on the couch watching TV too. My Sister had this case for her iPad 2 and loved it; she just received the new one a few days ago, and it's actually better designed than the original.
I'm waiting to see what the Bronze looks like. I was really close to ordering that color.

Sorry, didn't have time until now. So the bronze has really grown on me. I just thought it would be more brown at first. Now I really like it. Depending on the light it has a slightly gold shimmer to it but I find it elegant, not tacky. I received the case at work and put it on immediately. Almost everyone who walked by had to stop and admire the case. So needless to say its an eye catcher. Still in love with it's functionality. I think the magnets work really well. And now pictures :)

Looking forward to the pics. From the pics of the silver you've seen on this thread, is bronze more glittery or about the same?

I would say as glittery. It's almost more of a sheen though. I think they all have the same finish. But it's definitely bronze, not gold or brown. It's hard to replicate the glitter on camera but it's not overpowering. The bronze with black trim compliment each other really well.

Thanks for the pics. My last question is do you think that color might be susceptible to fading and/or getting dirty/dingy over time or can the surface be cleaned?

At this point, bronze doesn't seem to be available on Amazon or on the Joy Factory's site so I guess I'll need to develop more patience.

I got mine (silver) on Monday - but I couldn't bear the smell even just opening the envelope -so I set it in my garage to air out for a couple days. I'll check on it tonight and maybe- just maybe I'll actually get to use it!!

Only time will tell but since it's a faux leather it seems like it will resist staining and wear well. Also seems easy to clean. It shouldn't fade like real leather. But a little fade wouldn't bother me. It might look a little more rustic then. But as of now feels like it will hold up well.

I really like the look of the Bronze! Now I am sorry I never waited for this color. When I was at the mall this past weekend in Vegas, I saw many accessories in these dull/antiqued metallics; they are very popular.

I still love my case though, and for anyone worried about the initial odor when it first comes out of the plastic wrapping, it's completely gone in a very short time.

The bronze is still on the JF website:

well after being in my in my garage for a full day now I'm still not ready to bring it inside - it still smells too strongly for my nose. I wait! Maybe tomorrow!

I Think I am having problems with mine. When folded BACK (iPad in use) the first section nearest the "hinge" sticks up about 1/8-1/4 of an inch. Because of that the front of the cover (where the magnets are) doesn't always stay "stuck" to the back. Anyone else noticing this?

Just got mine and it's looks the same. My order was backdated so I don't think it's an old case

Mine also sticks up slightly but it does not bother me. It's still thinner than a book. Magnet holds it in the rear position fine though. If I shake it, it will flap but in a natural holding position it sticks great. I don't know in what situation you'd be holding the case that your hands wouldn't be there to support it anyway.

Yea, mine is a 6 days opened now and the smell has faded quite a bit but I am very sensitive to it. I guess that's why they call the material "PU." :p

Yea, but its marked pre-order while black and silver are available for order now. IDK if the web site is out of date or they sold all the inventory. Would prefer to use amazon given that I've got some credits there and its mark OOS on Amazon.

Ooooooh, it's handsome!

Just be careful if you order from Amazon. The SmartSuit has been completely redesigned for the iPad 3. Look a few pages back at my pics, where another member noticed the huge difference in the rear shell. It offers way more protection than their previous version. Many vendors on ebay and amazon, seem to be passing off old cases as compatible with iPad 2 and 3 because they are similar in size. However, the true dimensions do differ, as does the magnet polarity. With that being said, if the Amazon seller can guarantee it is indeed the NEW design, then you could go for it.:)

It's no longer preorder. They started shipping Monday. Theyre just lazy in updating their website. They may be back ordered now ( couldn't say for sure) but the preorder info is wrong.

Can anyone comment on how stable the SmartSuit is in Portrait mode? From the photos, it looks a little unstable with the iPad straight up. Also, what are the approximate angles of view in the different viewing modes?

Hopefully, all the viewing and typing modes work well, because this case seems like one of the best I've seen.

Check from page 4 of this thread. That's when we started posting pics upon receipt of our cases. Look at all the viewing angle photos especially. There are quite a few because of the 4 fold design.

Looking to find out about Portrait stability, which is my primary concern, because there are many cases that do Landscape well, but very few can do both well. And, it's a really useful feature.

Anyone have thoughts on using their SmartSuit in Portrait?

Sorry, I missed what you said about standing in PORTRAIT mode. Duh! Please excuse my temporary brain freeze!:p i just tested this, standing on a table. Understand, because the case's cover mimics that of the Apple Smart Cover, the only way to accomplish this position, is to fold the 4 sections into their triangle formation. Given the strong magnets, I could stand the case up in portrait mode, with the triangle giving support on just one side. The iPad ends up at a close to 90 degree angle from a horizontal surface. The triangle will not unfurl, but if tapped, I would be concerned about the iPad toppling over. This would not happen in landscape mode because said triangle provides a weighted, wider base, which provides better stability, if you get what I mean?

Ohhhh I do like the bronze. Looks fabulous with the black! By looking at the pictures, the bronze looks more rustic than the silver. If I had a black iPad, I'd definitely go with the bronze. Love!

For my case, the smell faded away rather quickly. Received it on Monday, totally stunk! Aired it out that night and into Tuesday. Tuesday night had a slight odor, and yesterday I didn't notice anything! :D

I searched on the new part # (CSA111) and it says smartsuit3 on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Joy-Facto...4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1334238175&sr=1-4

If that is the old case, that is beyond deceptive advertising because they are using the new part #. In any case, I asked the seller when they will be stocking the CSA111. For the other two colors, they have significant discounts (37% and 27%) compared to joy factory (even when using the 15% coupon).
