Artists only get 12%, that’s a pretty good deal compared to 15 years ago when we were just downloading it all for free.
I would be interested to know what an artist made from CDs at their height.

I’m willing to bet we all have mental health issues to at least some degree. Not a “normal” one in the whole lot.

Most of us just don’t know it.
Probably more accurately - at least at some point in our lives we will all experience mental health problems - possibly multiple times...

I question his mental state. My brother had an anxiety attack when people started commenting that his daughter would soon be dating. Mom was 'very concerned' about him. I thought it was hysterical. Is he freaking out about her dating, his age, his coming irrelevance in her future life. Hmm... I wonder how I might have handled those times.

Still this picture and story on 'Ye' is concerning. And he's supposedly suing Kim to prevent her from reverting to her maiden name. Those poor children. They never deserved this.

And the whole thing about dating is, like they say, finding someone whose monsters will play well with yours. History is filled with examples where that didn't happen well...

And 'families'. I revered a family where I grew up. They looked like they 'had it all and then some'. Many people thought they were the 'loving family'. It was a complete shock to find out how deep that 'loving' went. Most people were nearly completely destroyed to find out the 'dark side' of the 'perfect family'. Yikes...

Someone described me as 'normal', and I said 'What have I ever done to you!'. They finally got it...

Everyone commenting on Donde (3 decent songs) or the device (insane) but the real issue is that Kanye is trying something to help the artists gets bigger slice. We are freaking out that developers only get 70% when artists are in a system where they make 12%. Probably time to rethink the current system…Apple offers an artist 70% that would be a pretty good deal.

TRUE!

When top rated artists declare bankruptcy because of the parasitism of 'the business/industry'...

Stem player makes it sounds like you could remix the track on the fly, which would actually be pretty cool.

This man is not well. Mental health issues or not he’s completely insane and full of himself. The more attention he gets whether positive or negative is just going to fuel his craziness even further. This device is a joke his music career is a joke and his music kind of sucks if you ask me there’s much better rap out there than Kanye. His family‘s one big reality show and that’s all that really seems to matter in these pathetic disgusting peoples lives. They are too rich for their own good And contribute nothing to society except division and craziness. People need to stop giving this man money ????

No one is missing the point, but you might be.

There is no app store for this crappy 8gb star wars turd looking mp3 player. If anything, it's a piracy law suit waiting to happen because people can swap stems (AKA songs) on a web forum, and all the music has to be managed in a web browser.

Giving his album away on the turd, er, Stem player, makes 0% and the dude is a freaking psycho loon that will throw it on every music service anyway or do something else crazy.

This was obviously one of his unthought out ramblings and musings. Maybe sell it as a direct download? Why limit to your crappy mp3 turd? It looks like a droid turd from star wars.
While I can't stand Kanye and his music has been subpar for like a decade, this move is kinda smart. He reported to make just over $2 Million in 24 hours on Stem Player sales alone. None of which will go to streaming services.

Don't really care that the "latest" will not be widely available via traditional channels. The peeps who dig it, and want it, will certainly use his method of distribution, but for the rest of us who dig hip-hop / r&b (not gangsta rap)... we could give a $&!+

I don't disagree with his position on the "split" issue - artists have been getting screwed since the debut of "recorded media" sales began, by the industry as a whole.
