I think Apple knows the iPhone 5 is disappointing as well. Why else would they close talking about the different iPods?
I was about to say. When's the last time an iPhone event was shared with an iPod event? Aren't they usually separate?:confused::confused:

Holy crap, the iPod Touch 4th to 5th gen seems to be a better upgrade than the iPhone 4S to iPhone 5. It's got a iSight camera with flash and an anodized aluminum body and the same tall screen.

And Siri? And 5 different colors to choose from?

i agree, it got a huge jump. Why not make the iphone in all those colors?

There's no reason not to, I know. I don't know why Apple keeps the iPhone black and white when there's people like this today who would love colored phones.

Im happy to see I guessed right and went for the GS3. iRemote it sure is...It would have been better if they made the bezel much smaller. More screen, less other crap. That, and some fricken eye candy already. My GS3 running JB (via cm10) is PROOF that a phone CAN have widgets and live wallpaper AND be smooth as butter! My GS3 is as smooth, if not smoother, than the iPhone has been.

Sadly, Ill bet the farm that most everyone will convince themselves this is a good thing.

The disappointment has been building in me for weeks so this is no earth shaker. I really hoped that there was a huge surprise but nothing. Lamest new generation announcement ever.

I won't be getting it. Pains me to say it but this will be the first time since '07 that I haven't had an iPhone as my primary device. 4S is just about sold on ebay. Just a little longer on the bidding.

I sure hope people dont go and buy overpriced earpods just because they will match lol

1) If it were quad-core, they would have said quad-core. Apple will never pass up that marketing.

2) There's not going to be a one-more-thing for iPhone. The shipping dates and pricing have been shown. It's over, Johnny.

1. Yes they do at times (have you ever seen them market how much memory an iPhone has?)

2. The keynote is not iPhone only.

It's everything I would want, considering I loved the form factor of the iPhone 4. My biggest hope would be that they would have improved the front FaceTime camera, and they did.

I sincerely hope Apple falls deep this time. This was indeed the biggest leaks of all time. Johny Ive has a great job I must say, scratching his balls for 2 years

watched the original iphone video earlier today with jobs saying how their phone is 5 years ahead of anything out at the time. iphone 5 is probably 2-3 years behind android at this point...

I wouldn't say that at all (and lets ignore the fact that you're comparing a phone to an entire mobile OS).

In fact, as someone who moved from an iPhone4 to a Galaxy S3 and subsequently posted a 'grass isn't always greener' thread on these forums, I'd argue that we've reached a point at which none of the major mobile OS's are leaps and bounds above any of the others. Android certainly isn't perfect - far from it (I'm currently running a custom Jelly Bean rom on my S3 and I wouldn't call it evolutionary by any stretch) neither is iOS or WinPhone 8.

It's all about personal preference these days - what phone do you prefer in your hand? which eco-system do you find most satisfying to use? Your answer represents your personal preference and not which is 'better' and certainly not which is "2-3 years ahead" :)

Thanks I really appreciate that comment.

Also, the earpods didn't replace the iPhone earbuds and are selling as a standalone accessory. I bet a lot of people will be annoyed that they have to pony up the cash for that.

you're always looking for something negative to write. please check your facts before posting. the new earpods will be included with the new lineup of products announced today.

iPhone 5 is just a stretched iPhone 4S. Crapple no longer innovates or surprises since Jobs is gone. No wonder they're trying to sue their competitors into oblivion.

I'm wondering if the OP is clueless. iPods were announced with the iPhone last year, and the new headphones will be included with the iPhone 5.

I don't see why some people choose to ignore the leaks and then are disappointed because they were hoping those weren't true.

Whoops, I'll edit.

They did replace them for the Nano, Touch and iPhone 5, you must have missed that slide.

I don't get what feature people are always expecting. I think it is a nice upgrade over the 4S. Two times as fast, bigger screen, better battery, and LTE are more than enough for me to use my upgrade...

Did I miss something or did they not show any screen shots of the back of the iPhone 5?
If not then if the top and bottom bands on the back are true in my opinion that's pure fugliness.

I wouldn't say I'm disappointed. A couple of notes, though.

1. The camera. I realize they've made some minor improvements and threw out the "as phones get thinner, cameras gets worse" line. I was seriously hoping to see a drastically improved camera and that camera phones would continue their rise to power. So in that, I'm a bit disappointed. I guess we'll have to wait and see what their changes bring with some sample photos and videos. After what they did with the 4s, I was expecting something dramatic from the 5. That brings me to my next note...

2. There's nothing really ground breaking here for the media to run with. "Apple released it's fabled iPhone 5 today. It's a little bit faster, a little bit longer, and that's about it. More news tonight at 6." Even if they had to manufacture a big feature like siri, I was hoping for something a bit more ground breaking.

Having said all that, it's a better phone than my 4s and I'm sure I'll get one.

A musical guest, this has to be a first for a keynote, eh?
No it's usually Coldplay or somebody like that.

The way they resized the screen and the lackluster featureset of iOS6 are the biggest disappointments here.
