Are these three phones going to be in addition to an 8s? Or is this going to be it?

It’s shaping up that my 6s is going to be my last iPhone. I’m not being forced into paying over £1k for a phone just to get features I got 2 1/2 years ago for £700.

I skipped the X cause the screen was basically smaller than my 7 plus. So I’ll be looking to jump in with the X plus.

It seems odd that they would not include 3D touch. That tech is a few years old at this point; it should become standard on all new iPhones at this point, especially since many recent UI enhancements in iOS depend on it.

yeah no way this is happening.

I just got force touch and i find it incredibly annoying and mostly pointless. Trying to do a long press vs force press is just too close so I keep getting the wrong action. As for technically challenged users, force touch is one of the first things I turn off on their iPhones as it just confuses them.

Apple keeps going down a path that is making the interface less friendly to non-technically comfortable users. While I like the gestures and can deal with Force Touch, the idea of teaching them to geriatric aged people is a huge NO WAY. Heck last week I had one person having trouble using touch ID, they kept pressing the button too hard when trying to scan their finger.

I am already concerned what i will do for my technically challenged friends once Apple completely ditches the buttons this year. I guess I will have to find an Android Distro for them...

I hope this is wrong, this is a sh*t lineup. I was hoping for a iPhone 9, 9 Plus and "X" Rev 2. I want to get a Plus this time around, not a 6.1 to 6.6 inch monstrosity.

Ming-Chi Kuo is the one that told the world iPhone X would rely on Face ID alone. And Apple would ditch Touch ID.

Those of you who doubted him last year looked pretty silly.

Feel free to doubt him about 3D Touch, but prepared to look dumb in September.

Stuff like this requires massive hardware purchases and Kuo is usually very reliable on anything related to supply chain.

I really can't understand Apple management of some features. 3D Touch, TB on MBs .... Stuff like this are what used to make Apple shine, full hardware/software integration, quick rollouts, developers follow up...

These decisions help make 3D Touch one of those Samsung half baked extra features they put on top of Android that nobody cares about.

That's rather interesting. No 3D Touch, basic camera....weird.
I agree. You would think that 3D Touch would be standard across the line by now. I think they are gonna try to entice people to buy the lower end iPhone lineup that looks like an X. There is no distinction between devices anymore. You can't tell the high end from the low end just by looking at it. That being said, bring on the 7" iPhone X Plus already! Why go with 6.5" when you can squeeze in .5" more? Make that and take my down payment now :D

all reports suggest 8 and 8 plus will not be updated.

No 3D Touch? And you're charging $700 to $800? F outta here, Apple! This is acceptable on the way cheaper iPhone SE, but unacceptable for $700-$800. Its crazy how this 6.1-inch nearly $800 is considered Mid-Ranged!

This is all speculation right? I rarely use 3d touch but I like having it ... I mostly use it to go back to the home screen or switching apps without having to double press home button (press and hold the upper left).

From what I see... I'm going to be keeping my 8+ for a very... very long time.

i thought the key was that LCD with promotion for that price 700$, since oled cannot have that...

I think that phone would sell a ton.

Outside of the tech bubble we live in, the fact that a display is oled or not is reaaaaally not important. Plus many people don’t use force touch at all. Frankly, if I had a choice, I’d drop 3d touch from my X. I bately use it, and it just adds weight and cost to the phone.

The average user cares about price, battery life and display size, mostly.

This phone fits the bill.

The 8 Plus has 3GB of RAM. If this graphic has incorrect information about the models that are already out, that makes me feel less than convinced by what it says about future models.

Still don’t get the point in spending 900+ bucks on a phone running the same iOS only to go back to using the exact same Apps you always have unless you are running an aging slow phone

Large display in smaller form factor. That’s basically why I bought the X.

What baffles me the most is the lack of an OLED display. Every phone that I know of in the $700-800 price range has an OLED display, and HAS HAD one for a while. As you know, Apple was late to the game adopting OLED screens. And now Apple is really going to limit the OLED display to their $1000+ phones?

If so -- laughable. But we'll see. It's just a rumor.
You realize there isn’t enough OLED production capacity on the PLANET right now to cover this years smartphones across the industry right?

If Apple doesn’t go OLED it’s because there simply aren’t enough worldwide to add the extreme burden of the numbers Apple moves, not because of cost savings.

On a different note, no 3D Touch is complete crap on KGI’s front. Aside from the SE (and likely to be on the SE update) it is crystal clear 3D Touch is one of Apple's strategic technologies, it’s going to be there.

The 6.1" model uses a brand new Full Active panel from JDI.

3D Touch adds another layer of complexity to display assembly. It makes complete sense to drop 3D Touch for a mainstream iPhone intended for a mid-range price point. Besides, not everyone uses 3D Touch.
