The iPhone X+ will have a screen resolution around the size of the old 30” Cinema Display.

I wonder when these are going to be hearty enough to be used as laptops? I mean full OS-type devices that can hook into peripherals and be a person’s complete computer experience. Expect it in the mid-20s,

A LOT of people will choose the LCD version just because of price alone. I like OLED but in all honesty, there was nothing wrong with Apple's LCD panels. They still look good to me. My iPad Pro still looks amazing without OLED.

I was right with you until I watched my first HDR iTunes movie last night on my X. I could not believe how much better it looked, if I could only have that screen on an iPad I would be in heaven.

Lots of rumors of a replacement for the SE coming early next year which will be manufactured in India. Hard to say what features it will have but they are probably aiming to keep it budget friendly so I would guess similar to the current SE with processor and camera upgrades.

None of those rumors are credible, i.e. not Kuo or Bloomberg.

That's fine if Apple wants to make a larger one and charge more for it.

But there needs to be feature-parity across the OLED models. After the X, no one is going to buy the argument that some special camera improvement can only be unique to the 6.5" model.

I only ever bought the Plus models for the camera, and I'm ecstatic that the X has come down to reality with a usable size AND all of the hardware Apple can dish out.

I'm never, ever going to buy a 6.5" iPhone and I will be extremely irritated if I'm missing out on camera or other hardware features because Apple chose to make them unique to the "premium" model.
Its about the size. Not about Premium.

I like the sport but I will refuse to call the next iPhone the Ten-Es.

Name it X1 (Ex-One). Sounds cooler than Ten-Es or Eleven. The iPhone Ten-Es Plus or Ten-Es XL. That sounds lame.

Ex-One and Ex-One Pro or Plus sounds better. Feel sorry for the #9 but maybe the LCD one will be named the iPhone 9.

LCD can be as slim bezel as OLED.

Xiaomi Mi Mix for example uses TFT LCD and has a thinner bezel than iPhone X.

By the look of it, the display controllers are in the bottom bezel/chin on that phone. I don't think LCD's can be curved like the X with the controllers underneath the display.

The so called iPhone X Plus will have a 6-1/2" SCREEN. It will get that size by eliminating the large top and bottom bezels of the current Plus iPhones. The device itself will be the same size physically as today's Plus sized phones. It'll just have a longer narrower screen like the current X model.
If that is true then the X-plus or whatever it is called would have same size as my old plus phones and that was maximum for my larger hands to hold securely with my last finger joint curled around it a bit. I was concerned what a X plus size might be at 6.5 diagonal.

Would be nice if they do it in April, which is the 2 year anniversary of the SE. April is also when my company gives out our cash bonus, so it would be perfect timing for me. :)

Hmm..

I went from a Plus to an X like many people.

And iPhone Xs+ or whatever its called will just be too much. Excess. iPhone Excess...get it?

We’ve found the millionaire :p

Whether someone does the iUP or decides to sell their previous year's model to offset the cost of the newest model (what I usually do), you're not really out of pocket that much more. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Honestly, I'd jump ship now if I had any other option in the USA than Android.

I'm honestly hoping that something like Sailfish will start to undo the restrictive and oppressive platforms iOS and Android have become.

We need openness more than anything else right now.

The best part was the asymmetrical notch on the side, right? Which orientation are you watching film? Notch to the left, or notch to the right?

That’s a design decision by the phone manufacturer to place the earpiece, camera and sensors in a bezel.

LCD can be both thin bezel along all edges and curved.

Apple’s main supplier JDI showed this more than a year ago.

I'll provide my secret that's worked for me two years running (at the risk of having more people in front of me next year). I buy on preorder night as an all cash transaction but then I walk into the store the day I receive it and "return" it then repurchase the same device (I don't let it out of my hands :p ) as the upgrade to my existing IUP. No worries about the IUP getting in the way of preorders that way.
No apple stores nearby for me. Closest are 2-3 hours north or east (Chicago and Indianapolis) so that will not work. I used to do AT&T Next and then IUP last year. Allowing me to mail in old phone once I got the X worked fine for me.

The war's been over for some time now. There were only two survivors. As far as choice is concerned, that may suck, but it's reality.

Like. Just make sure that the sensors are contained within the bezel and not notched out like a stink eye on iPhone X.

I'm so glad I bought the 8plus. I sensed that this might happen but you never know. I bought my 8plus two weeks before the X was being rolled out for ordering and the sales person said "why not wait for the new X?". My response was simple "I don't want to be an early adopter of new technology until the second version come out for sale". Now I'll have more options for a X when it comes out next year. Cheers! ;)

Which phone is that? Is it able to be mass produced on Apple's level? Just because it can be accomplished, doesn't mean it's actually feasible in the marketplace.

Someone please help me remember this quote when the onslaught of delayed launch reports from Ming start up around June 2018.

"Kuo is upbeat on the shipments momentum of all three new iPhone models, and expects them to launch without any delays in 2018, given Apple's supply chain will be well experienced with iPhone X production by next year."
