Let's face it, no one really saw Siri coming, so I bet there's something unthinkable coming...

Or maybe that's just me...

More durable than a Nokia :p Drop the new iPhone on the floor the glass doesn't break. Instead, the glass breaks the floor.

If Siri would be as useful in Europe as it is in America, it could be a killer feature for us over here... But you Americans already have a very good experience with Siri so for the American market it would barely be a killer feature I guess

Siri will improve globally, it was already announced

----------

Actually everyone expected Apple to announce Siri "Assistant".

Siri was an app on the App Store before.

Really? I didn't know that. Did they buy the company called "Siri"?

----------

some of the below sounds erasonably plausible... not sure about slow motion video capture...

would love airdrop though... :D

Re MagSafe, do you mean a shared charger between OS X and iOS devices?

----------

Siri 2.0 was announced at WWDC 2012.

More like Siri 1.0. Siri is technically still in beta

probably NFC with fingerprint recognition built in for security with passbook and locking unlocking the phone. I think security will be a big deal the way they are pushing for government contracts and such plus with a fingerprint scanner built into the home button they could work that into the software so many ways.

Sounds cool, but not going to happen. You can't do fingerprint scanning through the screen and any hardware to enable it otherwise will take up too much space to be in a phone. This is why Google went with face detection via the front facing camera.

Edit: apparently I'm totally wrong in what I said above, as I just read the article about Apple and AuthenTec. Very interesting indeed, although it is likely too late for it to show up on the iPhone to be released in the next month.

The article about this form of fingerprint reading is very interesting, it would definitely be a killer feature we have never seen before on any other device!

it could be included if apple were working with them and had prototypes ready to go but had to deal with their patents thusly justifying the purchase

Killer Feature ... The fact that its Unibody is something that few actualy think of a killer feature but it is .. A Unibody iPhone is actualy a big deal ..

btw - > https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1422872/

But to stay on topic .

Killer Feature Design Wise :
- Unibody
- Gorilla Glass 2
- Mag Safe
- Thinner

Killer Feature Tech Wise :
- 4G LTE World Phone !!!
- 9X Graphic Performance
- AirDrop !!!
- Bigger Screen 4 inch (16:9)
- 12 MP iSight Camera (Actualy 10 MP because of antishake/shutter feature that reduces MP in favor for improved antishake/shutter)
- 60 fps (slow motion capture video)
- 2 MP FaceTime Camera
- 802.11n 5Ghz

and I'd add 32GB storage as the base level phone to this list - so the line up would be 32GB, 64GB and 128GB

I think everyone is expecting a lot more than we are going to be getting already..

It's pretty much set in stone..

LTE
NFC
Larger screen

Anything else they announce will be pale in comparison...I think it is just because we know what it is getting hardware wise and software, we are expecting more. But those three alone are worth upgrading for pretty much everyone

Apple will need to do more than just that as there are Android devices that have include all those features for some time now.

I'm hoping for a fingerprint sensor built into the home button (from authentec) but most likely that'll be next year.

They don't need to do anything. People will still buy the next iPhone because well... it's the new iPhone.

Some will and some won't. Apple can only play catch up for so long before consumers get aggravated for being a year behind Android devices.

Yeah, definitely not this year. I'm looking forward to the two-factor authentication this will provide for all sorts of services.

There's like 15 new Android devices every single month, all with all sorts of gizmos and different technologies. Where exactly does the year start or end?

Not only that, no single company can add every single feature (hardware or software) from hundreds and hundreds of android handsets. Android sets are even behind of other androids.

Please share your hopes and ideas! ;)

My hope is a Transflective screen so that a)I can read the time/notifications without touching the phone. b)read screen comfortably outdoors.

Although the rumored changes to the screen should at least improve b.

It starts when an Android set is available that touts those features. It's not a complicated concept.

But none of that is available on the iphone yet....making people who want to keep iphones upgrade. It is not necessarily what android has that apple does not. Apple has a way better eco system of products....and unless that changes soon I will keep buying iphones. The droid competition with tablets and nexus Q really are awful in comparison

Maybe on 3g? Ain't gonna happen with 4g/LTE on. You are going to see a ton of posts on here about terrible battery life within a day of release. Just watch. :D with my S3, I can get 3.5 to 4 hours of actual onscreen time. This is used to the max straight through. You won't see that with the iphone on a tiny little battery, especially if they are using the IPS display still.

Battery life is important to Apple so i think it will have 5 hours of 4g usage at least.

I think Siri was known pretty well in advance. Especially after Siri was acquired by Apple. (It was a standalone app by a company called SRI International beforehand)
