Why wouldn't you? I still have iPhone 6 and maybe this year I will upgrade.
Keep your X for 2 more years at least. The improvements are minimal so no need to upgrade regularly. ;-)

For those posting about how these features aren’t worth upgrading over, are you comparing to last years model or are you on an older device?
Personally I’m on a 6s that I bought when it was the new phone. Obviously I don’t upgrade often, but I’ve never understood upgrading yearly anyway. That said, IF this is the year I decide to these changes will make me lean towards the newest model (because I don’t upgrade more often than every 4 years or so).

Am I the only one that doesn't care about front facing cameras. Even when I take a selfie I turn the phone around and use the back camera.

The front of the iPhone is becoming less and less complicated while the back is becoming more and more complicated. I hope they're working on better materials because most of that thing is going to be cameras someday. They'll have to bring back the bumpers, lol.
You'd think with as much internal space that three cameras would take up they could just do away with that and put a long zoom lens vertically inside the device with a 45 degree mirror pointing forward.

Glad to see improved cameras. Wish they’d improve the webcam on Macs. When I use FaceTime or Skype, I more often use it on my Mac and the camera quality hasn’t changed in years.

Sounds fine to me. There wasn't much Apple was going to do to make this worth upgrading to from an XS Max. That'll be 5G. I couldn't care less about camera upgrades.
From an investor point of view, this won't cut it though. Expect more slowing iphone sales especially with qualcomm chips waiting in 2020. Apple just has to get past 2019 and focus on sideshows like the video streaming. More integration between macs and ios devices is welcome too. Focus on ecosystem.

Cool by me, I upgrade yearly either way and will go with the 5.8 version. Hardware is bland today no matter what, not really sure what people are expecting. Software is the difference and Apple still has a leg up in a number of important categories - performance, security, privacy, ecosystem, apps, and support.

The camera sounds good enough for me to upgrade from my X. Camera is always my main interest when the new iPhones are announced.
So, what are you missing.. exploding batteries or screens that crack within the first day?
Don’t really trust what he says anymore in his ‘notes’, seeing as he got several things wrong recently.. plus this is just stating the obvious and nothing new.

Yeah count me in too. It just seems the wide angle will be the only major change to the camera system. The time of flight sensor is rumoured to be coming in 2020 which should improve portrait mode and augmented VR.
Though I’d like to see Apple improve low light perfomance like Google Huawei.
And also the reports of failing screens already after 48 hours of usage. Lol. But let’s ignore this fact. And hammer on Apple for wanting to innovate with better cameras. Nevermind the A13 chip rumors. That thing is going to be an absolute beast. iOS 13 looks very promising too.
Just make the battery a little bigger so the case is flush with the camera. ye gods.
