I agree 11 is solid value and the Pros are still grossly overpriced. But I don't like the subpar screen on the 11 tho. If they put the same standard of LCD from the iPad Pro models to the iPhone 11, not even the OLED, then I would drop my iPhone 8 and get an iPhone 11. iPhone 8 is the last LCD iPhone with premium LCD pannels. XR and later all use value-oriented LCD panels.

I think the major gripe people had with the 10R was the DPI, which is lower on the iPads (264 dpi). Of course the 120 hz refresh is lovely on the pros.

It seems most people have forgotten about that wave of bad PR from a year ago, and are busy just using a a very capable device. Maybe I’m getting old, but I can’t really see a difference between the pixel fidelity of my SE and my girlfriends 11 pro!

99% or more of people who “care about 5G” and bitched about it here were never even interested in buying an iPhone.

True. If iPhone came out with 5G, same people would go- "Oh, But what will I do with my iPhone 5G? There is no coverage anyway, no thanks, i'm holding to my iPhone 3G. Also the notch and no USB C, yeah...that's it..that's what holds me from buying iPhone"

An updated SE seems like a great option while I wait for the premium iphones to figure out that notch issue

Hard to believe 12 years after the original iPhone and there are still lines of people waiting to buy newly launched iPhones. You don’t see that with any other manufacturer. It’s especially interesting to see since so many negative comments were made about how this will be a boring lackluster year for iPhone sales. Apple literally improved massively the two big things people care about- battery life and camera.

Apple hit a home run with the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.

This again could prove the naysayers wrong.

apple can do what ever they want in a duopoly. theres enough sheep outside - who wanna go pseudo premium.

The real big thing about apple and the US is that they keep every competitor down!

Louis Rossman has stated in one of his recent videos that he might consider switching to an iPhone SE if it proves compelling enough.

Your move, Apple.

It makes sense to launch new iPhone SE and iPhone 8s...everyone can have more option to pick.

other companies have lines too
apple improved nothing - they hammered in a much bigger battery and copied some lens tech from huawei

huawei and samsung phones of older gen. are way superior in battery usage and lens tech!

According to those benchmarks, Huawei and Samsung phones have been way superior in battery usage and lens tech for a long time. Funnily, Apple still managed to sell its phones at much higher prices. Somehow Apple customers must see other things in iPhones than number of cameras and battery life.

Apple improved their phones in areas which their users appreciate. It's the whole experience. From the Apple Watch to AirPods to iOS-only apps to Apple's very own credit card. Yes, not everyone cares for this, but enough people do to vote with their wallets and Apple so very financially successful.

On the flip side, we now have Huawei phones unable to run google apps. You can point to a laundry list of features that other android phones have, but at the end of the day, ecosystem is king.

Learn it, acknowledge it, explain it, not explain it away.

Source for Apple copied lens tech? You do know one mans’”Apple improved nothing “ is another mans’ must have. All depends on where one stands.

I’m really surprised about the iPhone 11 demand. I guess the camera and battery life improvements are very good.

People aren't buying the iPhone XR(S) because it has better battery than the XR. People are buying it now because Apple corrected the biggest mistake they have ever made: Selling an iPhone that costs some €800 and still "perceived by Apple as not top of the line". For the past 8 years, every year, if I went into the Apple store and paid €800, I would get the new and best iPhone. They sold another model at the time, marketed purely as "bigger". It had more capacity and sometimes two lenses but the message sent from Apple to customers was "the PLUS version is the bigger version". This is a crucial difference. What happened with the XS, is that they released an iPhone that is even SMALLER, and more expensive, and clearly better from its name and features. Why would I go to the store and pay €800 and have some weird XR something? With the new naming and more feature parity, I can say I have iPhone ELEVEN. The new one. This is very true especially for people upgrading from iPhone 6 or 7 or 8..."Now we have iPhone 11". The Pro however this year is just a filler phone, the real big deal will be next year.

I personally do not think it should get the A13 SoC or possibly a double lens camera, because we just paid a lot of money for our iPhone 11 models, and yes, I know we paid for more than just the A13, but Apple should stick an A12 in it, which will be plenty good for an iPhone with a 4.7" LCD screen, and most likely one camera...like you mentioned from the XR. If it gets a double lens camera, I think some people who got the non-pro iPhone 11, would feel a little robbed, especially if they like TouchID better than FaceID.

But hey, that is just my opinion.

:apple:
It might have the XR camera, but no way the 11 camera. Probably will have A13 because they’ll be selling it for probably four years untouched (except maybe a bump to 512GB a few years in).

Someone earlier mentioned more likely an A12 than A13 which makes sense since the XR will still be officially in the line up at $599

Apple created this industry, so they are rightfully taking advantage of it and leading it.

My money is on the A13, and there will only be a single lens camera on the refreshed 8 because Apple wouldn't have to modify the chassis to accommodate a second lens.

But could it get a bigger camera bump? Meaning the iPhone 8 camera or the iPhone Xr/Xs camera?

If the rumored SE 2 comes with better display (4.7” or smaller) and chip, it will be hard for me to resist. Otherwise, I have two like new SE 128GB I can keep rockin’.
Yeah If I could get a better camera and a slightly better display and stay smaller than the 7/8 sizes, then that could make me upgrade. Anything less, or larger and I will keep buying SEs off of ebay every year. I'm on my 4th one now.
