They didn’t drop anything, they simply passed that £50 price drop of the iPhone 11 onto the customers who want to buy the iPhone 11 Pro which increased in price by £50 here in the UK which is a disgrace. Instead of absorbing the cost themselves they are forcing it onto those who purchase the higher end model.

Even with the US sales tax it is still cheaper than here in Europe.
[doublepost=1568639833][/doublepost]I think the new colour coded camera glass makes the phones a lot uglier and harder to match with cases especially the gold and white versions. The midnight green and space grey would be the only options if I was purchasing this year.
Doesn't this have to do with the currency being weak over there currently?

In the states tax on a $1000 phone comes out to ~$100 depending on where you live. So essentially each phone is $1100 instead of the $1000 that is advertised.

It's funny how on MacRumors there is a positive post, yet some people still try and turn it into a negative one
People around here seem to want the phones to sell poorly. Every year they say the same thing and every year Apple sells tons of phones.

This is why Apple doesn't need to innovate... throw in a few incremental improvements to the camera and add a new color... People will buy it and they cash in. Unreal
What innovation are they really missing that other phones are bringing to the table? The smart phone market is essentially totally mature. There isn't much else they can do. 2-way wireless charging would be nice, but I think the amount of times people would use it would be incredibly low. Don't get me wrong, id like for them to implement that. Isn't Samsung having issues with their version of that though? I thought I read that somewhere, could be mistaken.

I would love colors like the old iPod nanos had, those things were brilliant:

Agreed, the 4th/5th gen nanos actually had great, vibrant colors, not this pastel crap Apple usually goes for when they've add colors to products the last 10 years.

Isn't it also reported that they sell fewer phones and have to cut production?

They are just dragging out revenue. Can't blame them as they have shareholders.

But at the current price points, fewer fans are jumping in on every release.

I skipped the phone and the watch. That $2,000.00 I saved.

When Apple has some significant innovations I will be back in. This includes fixing that horrible camera array on the back..UGLY!

Oh same here! I am on the iUP program and have a SS S4 watch. Very happy to keep my current XS and pay it off so when/if I upgrade next year I can use this one to help pay for the new one. Very happy to not have any need or desire to upgrade this year. I look at it as a good thing for me. I'm not a shareholder so personally I don't care about their revenue or anything.

That iPhone 11 for $699 is quite enticing for most people, especially with T-Mobile offering huge discounts on it with trade ins. Perfect phone for the average customer and a very reasonable price.

iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro order demand is ahead of expectations since the start of pre-orders on Friday, according to a research note by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and obtained by MacRumors.

In two months we will see another article about how Apple has cut productions forecasts with its suppliers.

It is the same cycle every year:

1) New iPhone orders exceed expectations (which Tim will say again at the next earnings call)
2) Apple cutting iPhone orders

Based on what I've seen and read, the Phone 11's seem like very nice smartphones. I expect that the iPhone 11 will be the most popular model based on price and I suspect that Apple expects the same thing. Apple has been working for the past several years to create new pricing tiers and I think they've succeeded in doing so.

Not quite true. iPhone sales are leveling off, not dropping. There’s a difference.

The iPhone had explosive growth in sales for many years, and that kind of growth is simply not sustainable. So now iPhone sales are leveling off.

Apple doesn’t care if people hang on to their iPhones for several years. As long as they get an upgrade in the end.

You haven’t seen them in person yet, so there’s that. Also color choice is a preference. For everyone that thinks a color is hideous, there’s someone else that thinks it’s gorgeous. The buyer of these phones likely think your favorite color is hideous.

Exactly. Car dealers have a saying: there's a seat for every @ss.

I guess that it’s a good thing for Apple that their target market/markets for these devices AREN’T the seemingly many negative naysayers online, but instead the greater population of smartphone buyers at large. People who (aren’t ‘sheep’ btw) value what Apple brings to the new models every year, and don’t view the yearly updates as being only, or necessarily, ‘incremental’ ones... aka internet forum-speak for ‘trivial.’ They instead find enough value in what Apple brings to market, to purchase them in volume.
Sell on Apple, sell on, and the haters can go and burn effigies of the phones, and flame out on forums everywhere.
Haters gotta hate, iPhones gonna sell. Success is the best....

Unscientifically and going by memory, that does seem to be a frequent annual scenario.

You know what we didn’t see this year (yet)? The analysts saying there are issues with producing “insert component here” and that production is constrained because Apple is having difficulty ramping up.

Well, obviously these colours are made to appeal to asians, which they kinda suite, especially chinese. And there are a lot of chinese, you know? TI2019 - a Dota 2 tournament - gathered 10$ million more compared to previous one just because it was held in China. So, yeah, not a surprise, the colours are still bad, they remind me of dirt, drug effects and other unhealthy emotional moods.

I'm skipping the purchase of the top config iMac Pro. That's $15,000 I saved!
(I don't know, stating you're saving money by simply not buying something you don't want and don't need is a bit silly to me).

Keep your existing phone and watch, and keep the lack of features that are in the new models *shrug*.

I will be upgrading my Xs to the 11 Pro (most likely Max Pro).

3 round lenses look 'scientific', the screen is like the 'new Mac Pro', battery life is better, and sound is improved. iPhone 11 Pro is very good.

Glad I’m not the only one with the question “color?” on their mind. My mind is blown right now just by reading this.

I’m upgrading because of all the new cameras. I travel often and take a lot of pictures so I want the best photos I can possibly get all the time. The plus 5 hours battery life is the second reason I’m upgrading, and third reason is the unique dual video recording system.

I'm with you - there's a lot of great capabilities - another bonus is increasing the angle for Face ID unlocks - can't wait to try that! (coming from an X)
