Has kuo ever been wrong. I mean he said Apple Watch redesign by 2nd half 2021. Which I doubt since Apple does it always 4th quarter.

Apple doesn’t ship specs they ship features. What is the feature here that people are missing?

***** are you talking about? What "feature" does a glass back instead of a plastic back provide? None if we go by your incorrect definition of feature... it just makes the phone look and feel more premium.

Similarly, 120 Hz may not provide a "feature", but it makes all motion and scrolling look better. I notice the increased smoothness every time I switch between my iPhone and my iPad Pro. Also, they added 120 Hz to the iPad Pros, didn't they? Apple only ships features my ass.

any rumors of the new iPhones moving to USB-C? I do use my iPhone for taking pics but better cameras alone really isn’t exciting me like it used to.

I don’t have a specific link for you but I believe everything I’ve heard and read says Lightning. With no charger in the box allegedly.

Apple doesn't really offer half-baked features.

And they're not prepared to call it "Semi-Pro-Motion."

How can you know it's "half-baked"? ProMotion has been a thing on iPad Pro's for 3 years already. How is it still in a more half-baked state compared to e.g. LiDar which has only been around for a few months but is coming to iPhones anyway?

Yes he’s been wrong before. Most every leaker has gotten some things wrong here and there. But he’s pretty good and gets a lot right so what he says should get attention.

I now find myself wanting to hang on one more year with my iPhone 7 Plus (which will be able to have iOS 14). I'm approaching 4, might as well make it 5...

I am NOT interested in 5G. Why are they even pushing this? MR should do a front page poll of people here who are actually using 5G right now. I'm willing to bet few people even have a 5G plan, let alone actually take advantage of 5G speeds, especially mmWave.

So we have a redesign (okay, cool), a camera spec bump (meh), LIDAR (meh), and... what else? Is there anything else besides iOS 14? It'll be underwhelming if there's no 120Hz.

Less eye strain for OLED screens.
Honestly, if they could transition away from PWM dimming, that would do a lot more for me than 120 Hz (even though I do want that, as well). The PWM, especially at night, is bad. It makes my eyes water when looking at the phone for long.

I really wish they'd just transition back to their LCDs until they can get OLED right by eliminating PWM. Their LCDs really were good enough, since the XR they can cut out the LCD to fit around the front camera modules, and don't come with the negatives of PWM.

I just don't understand how they've gone this many years without addressing it or offering a "Pro" model option without OLED. Now it's going to be even worse, the only semi-modern iPhone in 2020 will be the SE, with a gimped camera, 2x2 MIMO antennas, no 5G, and poor battery life.

First they relegated the good cameras to the humungous Plus models, then they forced Face ID on us starting with the XS/XR, and now the smallest "Pro" will be 6.1" and there will be no non-SE model with an LCD. It just sucks that you can't get the iPhone with the good cameras anymore without a bunch of compromises.

iPad Pro uses a different backplane tech because it's LCD, not OLED like iPhone. And 90Hz isn't as noticeable as 120Hz. But battery life will still take a hit due to lack of LTPO.

LIDAR has been out for years. It's more commonly known as ToF on Android phones.

when everybody wants an narrower notch or no notch, why apple would make this happen only on the smaller and the most cheaper one and not for the entire line-up
We get that 5.4" has even less space...but for all displays we would get something if they narrow the notch
Again, a girl will disagree with me
"Again, a girl will disagree with me".
Or....be confused by you. What? Terrible grammar. o_O

Like the LiDAR scanner that will support Apple's thrust into AR and apps?

Unless there's any major applications for it in the next year that's not really all that big a deal for most consumers, and also it seems like it's only going to be on the pro this year, which kinda limits market penetrations. Seems more like a way for *Apple* to get some more data about real world implementation than something super useful for customers this year, with likely broader introduction and use cases with the phones next year.

Would this really mean bad battery life or Apple keeping in pocket for next years big thing. Seems like once again if Apple wanted to deliver the best featured hardware, it would have happen. Not the bread crumbs.
^^^this - smart man - luckily for Apple Samsung cannot produce the panels Apple needs in major quantities which gives them cover when the reviewers ask why this 'essential' feature (at least for this board) was not included. Next year, they will have A15, 64MG camera and 120mhz and that should be good enough of an upgrade.

60hz in 2020 for £1100+ is rather awful i must say....

Fair statement for us ‘techies’ who understand the value for the features being offered. However, Do you think consumer cares in the slightest about 60hz in 2020? (Rhetorical) Consumers didn’t even know how to utilize 3D Touch for all these years when we had it. Apple knows that, they know theit target demographic and they’re not concerned about offering 120hz if it’s not offered this year, they’ll use their marketing tactics to highlight LiDAR and other camera tech specs’. I don’t suspect 120Hz displays are nearly as important as some are plastering in this thread.
