Photos are NOT the only digital media people keep on their phone. Personally I have a LOT of music files and playing them in my car directly from my phone saves a LOT of streaming charges. Also, occasionally load movies for trips. Likewise savings streaming charges.1TB is a god send.
Exactly the same here. I have TBs many live music recordings (Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic) in lossless formats and I like to have as many of them on my phone as possible to listen to while traveling or when data/wifi is not available.

It won’t be for everyone, but I really hope they make the 1TB version available so those of us who want it can get it.

New Photo's APP in Windows 11.

Hope in the future it will work with the iPhone connected and Android?

Yeah...unfortunately. 😒

I still have this old backup Note 9 from my brother. 128GB base storage, but that option on this to add 256GB from a pretty inexpensive memory card...I love that option. Apple never had this and never will.
*I know Samsung ditched the expandable storage.
Agree. And I can understand why they would want to move away/not allow an SD card, but at least be honest when the pricing for storage has dropped over the years yet they continue to charge a premium for it.

Well, what I can say is that Apple offering a $1,000 iPhone with 128 GB storage into 2022 should be shocking. There are already phones with 128 GB storage costing less than $200. And the 1 TB option seems way too much indeed. Offering 256 and 512 GB options would be just fine. But Apple's hunger to upsell everything seems to produce this kind of business decision.

I have a XS-Max and so far I'm only using 44 GB.
I have 3826 photos, 133 Videos and 152 Apps.
128 will be more than enough for me.

They really need to increase the minuscule 5GB free storage.

For me 64Gb is the sweet spot and I have to get more than I need.
I had just 16GB on my old 6 - until I got my 12 Pro last year with 128. :)

64 would have been plenty so far - but always nice to have some headroom so that I don't feel that I will have to upgrade.

(16 was a pain. Definitely too little to do anything more than simply exist.)

I remember back when it was impressive that my mom's iPhone 4 had 16 whole gigs, this is just mind-boggling. What's also mind-boggling is that Android hasn't kept up, given how bloated it is. My "32" gig Motorola had 15 gigabytes eaten up just by the OS and apps Motorola and T-Mo were paid to make uninstallable, like Facebook, ending up really as a 16GB with aspirations.

I upgraded to the 12 Max to resolve the frequent screen-freeze in Contacts, dial pad, and iMessages from my previous Max. Perhaps it's more of an iOS issue, but the end result is the same. I'll see if iOS 15 can solve the problem before I upgrade.

If CSAM launches off, people will definitely need 1TB iPhone.

Glad, Apple is throwing that option out there.
Apple could just generate neural hashes for CSAM on any image that appears on your screen… just because it’s exclusive to Photos and iCloud doesn’t mean they can’t extend it

My iTunes library is half a TB so go figure. Plus TV series easily hundreds of GB, as well as BD movies.

I have gone to 512GB on my iPad and can finally breathe a little bit knowing I don’t need to micromanage storage for a while.
If you travel 1TB definitely makes sense.. but rarely do I need all the content on an airplane and foreign data plans are pretty decent to stream these days

I always got the 64GB model. I pay $35/year for 500GB of cloud storage so I never felt the need to pay more for phone storage. Cloud storage is safer as well.

Still heavily depending on regions and your travel budget. And even so I’d still not want to stream using data plan in a foreign country unless the deal is insanely good.

Considering earlier rumors of price increases because “supply chain constraints” I expect the 1TB Pro Max to approach $2k. Anyone else?

If the iPhone 13 starts at 128GB then the iPhone Pro should start at 256GB. That’s one of the big differences between the two that makes the extra price worth it.

what about increasing the free 5GB (!!!!) iCloud storage mother Apple?!
What about somehow deploying the actual required 5 billion GB storage space assuming the free storage space is bumped from 5GB to 10GB? Would you like apple bumping the price by a factor of 10 to cover those “free storage” cost?

Anyone remember the original iPhone had a massive 8Gig 😂
I always went the highest capacity however now I’m finding with iCloud 256gig is fine, in fact I could probably get away with 128gig. I have over 60,000 photos

I would be happy with something put in between 200GB and 2TB. I could use about 5GB to 1TB and I would rather pay 4.99-7.99 than 9.99 for something I’ll never come close to using.

What’s your plan to deploy those extra 5 billion GB storage? Apple has reportedly been having 1 billion iPhone used actively, each of which would need to be assigned with 5GB of “free” storage.
