Next year's lineup should be:

- iPhone Mini
- iPhone Regular
- iPhone Pro
- iPhone Ultra.

I'd be happy about that.

I always and only buy Pro Max.(or Xs Max as were called).

Let’s hope this doesn’t lead to more price hike.specially with the rumours or Ultra renaming from next year..

Also it’s a big mistake to differentiate Pro and Pro Max with specs.
many people want the flagship features/build quality but prefer slightly smaller more practical size of Pro.

Tried using the 14 Pro Max for a week since launch. Returned for 14 Pro. Great size for daily use.
That's interesting to hear. I'm on the fence about going to the 14 pro max from 13 pro, but I'm concerned that it will be far less easy to enjoy without using both hands. Was that your experience, by chance?

I’m getting the 15 Pro Max to replace my 12 Pro. My aging eyes need a larger screen. I use a LG Stylo 5 with a holster case like a defender for work and have no problems with the size. Hopefully they do 8gb Ram and 256gb minimum even with a price increase

This seems to be illogical thinking.

The suggested logic goes:
One model sells a bit more than another. Therefore they need more differentiation.

That makes no sense.

Why would you want to increase the feature gap to increase the desirability of the better selling device?

It all just sounds like nonsense.

Exactly right. I'm already paying a 'pro' price, so it shouldn't be limiting!

The iPhone Pro is still too large for me, adding features to the Max would do nothing to entice me. Making the Max the only model with all of the top line features would likely make me consider switching to a different maker altogether. I'm an Apple fanboy since 1987 but the iPhones are just too large. I miss having a top line model that can be operated with one hand.

I'm afraid — for that very reason. I got the 7 when it came out, and envied the camera of the 7 plus, but wasn't willing to go to that size. I think it's terrible, but that really is why the do it: you want all the bells and whistles — pay up. Problem is, personally I don't mind paying — I just don't want the huge phone. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.

Agree - much of the increase in screen size is just scaling the size of the content up - larger text, icons. etc. You don't really get that much additional useable screen real estate.

If your eyes don't mind, the regular pro is functionally the same.

You can change the text size though

I am the same way. I can pay for top features, but I hate that huge size.

Perhaps this just shows that the people that gets a new phone every year tend to go for the best and is not interested in anything else and don't care about price.
People who are not interested in the "latest and greatest" tend to go for the lower end phone (SE) where value is of essence.
Apple's current iPhone lineup is confusing af.

I want a 14 but I know I'll be really annoyed to end up with the last Lightning model. I use my phones for at least 5 years, so I'd be stuck with that for a long time.

They're going to miss a big chunk of the market. The ultra watch being bigger was a consequence of needing a bigger battery - form follows function. If they add features that need a bigger screen fine. But if it's just putting cool stuff in the massive phone, then no thanks. If I wanted an Ipad on my shoulder, I'd just buy an ipad.

I hope not. Apple finally got it right with the MacBook Pro. The processor, CPU, GPU, everything are exactly the same whether you want the 14" or 16" screen. The only difference is a slight difference in battery capacity.

The Pro and Pro Max should be the same device, but with options for people with different screen size preferences.

Apple needs to consider regular iPhone 14/15 models for the Spring event. No point introducing them during Fall Event. The Pro model steals the thunder.

Could it be? In 2023, we may see...
  1. iPhone 15 Pro
  2. iPhone 15 Pro Max
  3. iPhone 15 Ultra
If they did that they should just make them the S version of the previous September release.
