Get rid of the regular models

Pro 6.1 and 6.7 and Ultra 6.1 and 6.7

The Pro’s are similar to what we have now and the Ultras are an even bigger upgrade. More Ram, starts at 512 and more features not found in the Pro’s

Try the Samsungs that fold. I have tried the Huawei foldable phones of a friend in my country and at first I did it see the point of heavier and “everything bigger”, but the I saw that you can have a chat window on 1 half and the messages on the other half, or a super nice maps view, or show photos you Justo took to your friends in a large screen, I was convinced that foldable, but lite devices are the “ultra” versions!
There is some interesting things in the phone world related to foldable. As Apple is wont to do, they will release a foldable phone a few years after everyone else to make sure they make theirs “better”.

Apple has seen high demand for the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, which could lead the company to further differentiate the next-generation iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apple could add exclusive features to the iPhone 15 Pro Max in an effort to encourage more people to purchase the larger and more expensive device.

Kuo last week said that Apple asked manufacturing partners to ramp up production of the iPhone 14 Pro models due to strong demand, and today, he noted that the iPhone 14 Pro Max accounts for approximately 60 percent of the total order increase of the Pro models.

With the demand for the iPhone 14 Pro models, Apple has asked its suppliers to shift from iPhone 14 production to iPhone 14 Pro production. Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are reportedly seeing demand that is "obviously lackluster," according to Kuo.

The suggestion that Apple might aim to further differentiate the 6.1 and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 models is somewhat in line with a recent rumor that we heard from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, suggesting that instead of an "iPhone 15 Pro Max," we'll get an "iPhone 15 Ultra."

Gurman says that Apple could replace Pro Max branding with Ultra branding, and while he didn't mention additional features for the "Ultra" model, a name difference between the "Pro" and the "Ultra" could perhaps indicate that the larger iPhone 15 would get features not available in the smaller Pro model.

As of right now, rumors indicate that the iPhone 15 could see a design update with a swap to USB-C instead of Lightning and new periscope telephoto lens technology. Everything that we know about the iPhone 15 so far can be found in our iPhone 15 roundup.

Can they not. I want a premium phone without the large display. I like that the only differences are battery life and display size. I like having all the features in the smaller “Pro” form. If I want a phablet I’ll just also bring my iPad along.

So what, the Pro model would actually be”Semi-Pro”? This would be incredibly annoying. I don’t want to be pushed into phablet territory just to have all of the new features.

This would be detrimental if so.

Not everyone wants a phablet.

Apple needs to just have 2 sizes:

5.8” to appease both Mini, Regular and Pro users.

6.7” to 7.1” to appease those who want the biggest screen.

Yeah, I don't support this. People shouldn't be punished for wanting a smaller phone.

I don't need a "phablet" (how I hate that term), but I like to have the high-end features. That's why I have the 13 Pro. I don't want a deliberately nerfed phone.

I know this is common in the Android world, but I've been happy that Apple hasn't been doing this (well, mostly).

I’m more and more glad I jumped on the 13 Pro. Looks like it’s going to be Apple’s last sane phone for a while.

I was afraid they would pull this crap, because they’ve already started with dynamic island. I really don’t like the direction they are taking the company.

Great, that's all we need: more fragmentation. It used to be iPhone, then there was iPhone and iPhone Pro, then Pro and Pro Max. Lets add a third category just for the flagship version, plus the two standards, and a low cost version. Didn't Steve Jobs work to eliminate so much fragmentation when he came back to apple?
Yup, every year was 'iPhone'. Now? LOL. Steve Jobs did, and they will eventually go back to that ONE model. What's old will be new again, it's normal. After they squeeze the profits and move on to AR/VR.

Agreed

It’s such bad UX having to reach the top of the screen.

Thank god this is just an analyst’s opinion. The main difference and the reason why people buy the Max is because of the size Apple!!! We, normal pro buyers are not interested at all in buying a phone that big. If Apple downgrades the Pro in anyway it will just result in me just not buying the phone at all.

this could bring down the price of non pro iPhones moving forward, Im still gettig a Pro, but it´s a great way to introduce new customers to the apple ecosystem, so they get a Pro later on.

I thought the credit card sized iPhone Mini were the best thing that came out of the iPhone line? ;)

If they go full 7" screen, take my money now!

So, in your opinion, the Max/Ultra phone should be held back because the regular 6.1in phone cant fit the same features?
That’s not what they are saying though. What this is saying is Apple will intentionally put less features on the Pro so people that wants the best have to go to the max.

I mean, there’s enough differentiation with the better and screen size. What else do you want? We are already paying $1,000 minimum.

No, the "pro" should have ALL the features no matter what size. Other wise, don't call it a "pro"

What if the size is a limiting factor?

You do get some more features with the larger MacBook Pro. Thought not as much since the move to M series chips, but they used to be much different.

Yea because they weren’t able to focus in any of the products so they had to cut the crap and just focus on what they do good.

This is not like that though because they only have 2 devices in two sizes. The other devices are just old things they are selling, not at all what Steve encountered when he arrived at Apple.

Many others have said it, but I don’t want a giant phone. If I can’t use the phone 1 handed (like the Max) I won’t buy it. 6.1 screen is even pushing it for me. Parity on everything but screen size and battery is what Apple should continue to deliver.
