I'm conflicted this year. I usually go for the regular Pro due to heft. But if the rumors are true and the weight will be cut somewhat significantly, I would strongly consider the Pro Max. (Ultra?)

You can’t spend $100 for a new battery?

In Japan it cost more than 12,000 yen at the least. Apple has stopped supporting apple battery changes even through the warranty. And in this case it’s an iPhone 11

The big phones have always been too hefty/impractical for me. If they were able to find a way to lighten their load, i'd find them more appealing, especially now that i'm using my phone more for emails/messages/text based tasks.
A colleague of mine has the iPhone 14 Plus. It is lighter than my iPhone 13 Pro. A lot of the weight difference has to do with the camera and extra lens on the Pro model. And the 14 Plus has a much bigger battery than the standard size Pro. If that pattern holds for the 15 Plus, I think that’s the way to go. I only use phone cameras in a pinch.

My Pro Max 13 can do everything 15 Pro can and at lower price (read zero). So I will not "upgrade" to 15 pro. If I need optical zoom, my Nikon camera can zoom faster and better and in low light so I am covered with that. Other than that, see no changes.
It can’t do usb c 🤣

I just want to officially state that I don’t understand you people who want to carry around a giant boat anchor in your pocket everywhere you go.
I observed two things: 1. hot chicks and soccer moms wearing ultra tight jeans with the largest possible phone in the backpocket sticking out is a thing
2. people holding a phone ALL THE TIME in their hand while doing everything else is also a thing
Very fascinating 😂

Where are my macrumor mini owners who said they’d never buy another iPhone but now are secretly planning to buy an iPhone pro max?
I can't for the life of me explain why anyone would want one. I'll consider the regular pro but that's about it and it will largely have to do with weight.

Oh well… guess i‘ll be enjoying periscope on the 17 pro…
(New company phone every 2 years)

Well a titanium frame is luxury, and a periscope zoom lens is a nice bonus. I’m certainly going to watch the presentation to see what Apple has been cooking up, even though I’m not going to spend my hard earnt shekels on it.

Another lucky recipient of a company iPhone :)

I'm due this year, but we've only had the non-Pro as options. Though that may change this year 🤞

I've never considered the max variant of the Pro phones before. I can barely fit the normal one in some of my pockets.

However, this go around I am considering it.

I will probably go to the store, play with both of them, try and stick the larger on in my smaller pocket jeans, hope I don't get accused of trying to steal it 😂, and unless its completely outrageous, but the max or ultra or whatever they call it.

It’s not as big as people describe, and I’m a woman with small hands and wrists, rarely carry a purse, and wear stretch jeans. I have 0 issues carrying my Pro Max and it’s not heavy.
I’ve considered a Pro Max a few times but always ended up getting the regular Pro. The reason has never been that Pro Max doesn’t fit in jeans pockets. And I used to wear skinny jeans. Surprisingly the Pro Max doesn’t feel that big in a pocket. No the reason I always get the regular sized Pro is spelled one-handed use. As a guy with fairly big hands I’m sometimes still struggling to reach the far corners of the smaller display. With a Pro Max I can just forget about one-handed use as it requires two hands for just about anything. For me that’s incredibly impractical. I sometimes take my phone out of my pocket while I’m riding a bicycle and hold on to the handlebars with my other hand. But even in more normal and less death defying situations there’s many times i want to be able to use my phone with one hand so a Pro Max unfortunately is out of the question for me. Too bad as the big display is great in all other situations.

Well if you're going to bring it up, I still have every intention of keeping my 13 mini for at least ten years. I'm not using one of these offensively large monstrosities regardless of what features they may have.

I remember my dad and I walking into our gym back when the original Galaxy Note came out and some guy was standing outside using one. We thought it was comically big. "That guy looks like he's using a tablet!"

That phone is smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro. Not the Max, the Pro. o_O

It’s 75 euros only. In Germany it’s 99 Euros. Still way cheaper than a new iPhone.

I don’t understand people complaining about the weight of the Pro Max. I’ve only ever used the Pro Max since it came out, I love big screen phones. Its not like you’re carrying an anchor around in your pocket 😂

I thought Macrumors users were a bit more savvy these days and would’ve wised up to Apple’s up selling tactics but judging by quite a few comments, I guess not.

I’ll probably be holding on to my iPhone 11 for another year then. I find my 11 to be the absolute max size I’m willing to go. It’s on the too large side as it is.
