Good. Means preordering should easily get their phone on release day.

My Pro Max 13 can do everything 15 Pro can and at lower price (read zero). So I will not "upgrade" to 15 pro. If I need optical zoom, my Nikon camera can zoom faster and better and in low light so I am covered with that. Other than that, see no changes.
Everyone's Nikon Zoom is better, the problem is carrying the aforementoned Nikon kit on you at all times like you do with that phone camera

I am not planning to OPTICALLY zoom all the time. Digital zoom is sufficient for most zoom operations.

Apple is aiming for the highest-end iPhone 15 Pro Max to account for roughly 35–40% of initial shipments for the iPhone 15 series when it launches next month, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. That would give Apple's most expensive model the highest share among the four models in the lineup, with Apple planning for Pro Max shipments to be 10–20% higher than for the iPhone 14 Pro Max last year.
That is one heck of a courageous projection.
It might be possible considering iPhone 14 Pro Max supplies/shipments were (supposedly) heavily constrained during the first few months after release

so it might not be that hard to surpass those constrained iPhone 14 Pro Max shipment numbers

Plus, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has been the most-shipped smartphone in the first half of this year, so there is demand for the higher end models

I just want to officially state that I don’t understand you people who want to carry around a giant boat anchor in your pocket everywhere you go.
Apt analogy… if you're referring to a toy boat.

The rumored size of the 15 Pro Max is a bit smaller than an 8 Plus, and only 0.5 inches taller and 0.2 inches wider than a 12 Pro. And a report on Macworld says it may be lighter than the 11, 12, 13, and 14 Pro Max. For anyone concerned about the size, I suggest cutting a piece of cardboard to match the specs. I did that and was pleasantly surprised.

I get that it's not for everyone and that some people prefer a smaller iPhone. But it's hardly the massive device you're making it out to be.

I don't think there will be a price increase. The way apple has release of laptops, i.e., 15" air and then it goes on sale within a month or so is interesting. Increase could not be more than $100 worst case.

Nobody wants phones anymore, just small tablets they can use on the couch.

RIP mini
No, more like they want ONE device for LITERALLY EVERYTHING, no matter how impractical it actually is. (Can phone be used to do serious programming? Drawing? Remote to a server and you can see everything clearly?)

Then you certainly won’t understand why I prefer carrying an iPad Pro around instead of a phone nowadays. Yes I know I am the minority.
I feel like if tons of people get hooked to buy the most expensive model for the camera they’ll never bring it down 😂
As if they ever will lower the prices…
Uh, if somehow in one year their sale drops by 98%, maybe?

So Apple is just going to eat the higher costs and take a hit to their margins?

The new 3nm A17 SoC

as well as the periscope lens

Kuo notes that the periscope lens costs about three to four times more than a traditional high-end lens...

will be more expensive than the parts on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Don't tell me you also think Apple will cut iPhone 15 prices 😂

I expect a price hike for all phones. They will have a braided cable now too. Does a type c port cost more than a lightning? Are they using thunderbolt on the pro's? Is titanium more costly than stainless steal?

I think you underestimate how excited some of us are for USB-C. So tired of carrying around multiple cords or having the wrong one near me when wanting to charge. Now all my devices will use the same charging port:
  • iPad Pro
  • MacBook Pro
  • Beats Fit Pro (Christ Apple loves the pro name)
  • Apple TV Remote
  • Work Laptop
  • Finally adding my iPhone 15... Pro

Ugh. I might have to buy the big one if the camera is really that much better. I'm mostly a camera phone user. If Pros match cameras next year I'll go back to the smaller iPhone. They'd better name the big one Ultra, since pros with different features is rather putrid.
There’s a rumor that the 16 Pro Max/Ultra will feature an upgraded periscope lens and the 16 Pro will get the 15 Pro Max’s periscope lens so no exact match with the cameras again.

I live in NYC and the amount of times I've used my S23U just to zoom in on far away signs or parking codes across city blocks is too numerous to quantify. The optical zoom is more than just for picture taking, I've used it as a pair of binoculars, it's a really nice feature to have a 10x optical zoom on you at all times.

I used to always be excited about a new design, but ever since they squared off the edges again, I‘m afraid they will redesign it again, with rounded edges. The only physical change I would want Apple to make is to get rid of the camera bump. If they could do that, WITHOUT sacrificing any camera quality, then I would be happy.

I actually miss the round edges. The squared off design causes an iPhone like shape to wear into my jeans over time, seems to strip off the denim dye faster or something.

Granted this could also be solved by Apple making what has become a very thick and heavy phone, thinner.

yeah agree, the whole thicker thing is just not a thing.. they need to be done with it IMO!

I think the price increase is gonna be in the Pro Max only.
Wishful thinking. I think Apple feels this is the year to send the base Pro deep into 1K territory. Of course it’s possible Apple will only increase the Pro Max prices and keep the 256GB 15 Pro at $1,099 this year, raising the price to $1,199 with the release of next year’s 16 Pro. Then again, why stop with the Pro Max when you can also get more dough out of those who want a phone that fits in their pockets.

It’s not as big as people describe, and I’m a woman with small hands and wrists, rarely carry a purse, and wear stretch jeans. I have 0 issues carrying my Pro Max and it’s not heavy.
thank you. folks at like a Pro Max is akin to carrying a cement block in your pocket/hand. 😂

I mean maybe if you put a LifeProof or OtterBox case on it yeah, but no case or a thin/regular case and the phone is nottt huge whether you’re a a smaller person or not.
