Interesting prediction. Does that mean he is not expecting as many iPhones to be sold this year then? Let’s face it, the 15 Pro Max will be some serious money and people are worse off due to the cost of living crisis affecting the cost of everything we buy.

I can’t see this device becoming the common iPhone anytime soon to be brutally honest.

Why do people flame about iPhone prices? I mean, there are people paying bunch of thousands just to visit Disneysh!t. So why not buy a Phone for 1200$?

Can I bet somewhere this will be very far from the truth?

My guess is that most people that would go for the Pro due to size would not want a device that doesn't fit in their pocket just to be able to zoom to 6x.

I’ve considered a Pro Max a few times but always ended up getting the regular Pro. The reason has never been that Pro Max doesn’t fit in jeans pockets. And I used to wear skinny jeans. Surprisingly the Pro Max doesn’t feel that big in a pocket. No the reason I always get the regular sized Pro is spelled one-handed use. As a guy with fairly big hands I’m sometimes still struggling to reach the far corners of the smaller display. With a Pro Max I can just forget about one-handed use as it requires two hands for just about anything. For me that’s incredibly impractical. I sometimes take my phone out of my pocket while I’m riding a bicycle and hold on to the handlebars with my other hand. But even in more normal and less death defying situations there’s many times i want to be able to use my phone with one hand so a Pro Max unfortunately is out of the question for me. Too bad as the big display is great in all other situations.
That's actually a really good point about one hand typing.

I will have to give that a go and see how it feels too. I don't full on hold it, but I do balance it on my palm with a ring finger grip resting on my pinky and type with my thumb.

This is expected, if Apple does what the rumors say and makes the "ultra"...the majority of people upgrading to a new iPhone in the launch quarter will be buying the "best" phone available, and not the rehash model, or the "lesser" pro.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but anyone know where to get that wallpaper in the lead image of this article?

Completely unsurprising, everyone in my family uses a Pro Max variant except for one person and it's probably the most common variant I see in the wild (except for the base iPhone).

It seems like the iPhone that gets the least attention is the regular Pro.
My experience is the opposite. I see 95% standard iPhone pro sizes.

There are people that pay thousands for a Disney vacation but the numbers are falling as they keep raising prices.

I actually miss the round edges. The squared off design causes an iPhone like shape to wear into my jeans over time, seems to strip off the denim dye faster or something.

Granted this could also be solved by Apple making what has become a very thick and heavy phone, thinner.
Or looser jeans?

I just want to officially state that I don’t understand you people who want to carry around a giant boat anchor in your pocket everywhere you go.
I just want to officially state that I don’t understand you people who get so worked up about what other people want to buy. In my case, I’m 72 with diminishing eyesight. The larger phone is much appreciated.

I really don't but unfortunately for me my eyes just arent what they used to be. I am torn because I really dont want the larger phone other than having a screen I can read.

Because not everybody who uses an iPhone is rich maybe? We are in a cost of living crisis after all and seeing tech companies post record profits whilst telling is prices have to go up is rather absurd. In what world does the average iPhone user pay £1200 for an iPhone anyway? Most don’t.

We called off our trip after seeing so much of the previously inclusive stuff now being charged for extra.

Hopefully we’ll start to see a similar pattern with the tech companies that are using the cost of living crisis as an excuse to further extend their massive profits.

That’s a crazy prediction and even more crazy if it becomes true. Seems people are not done throwing their money away at perishable gadgets..

Disney, like Apple, are going through the motions. Construction at the parks is nearly idle and visiting has become a chore, staring at your phone all day vying for a virtual place in line. I don't want an expensive vacation to be dominated by rules and restrictions. I already have an abundance of bureaucracy at work.

The missing ingredient in management at both companies is passion.

I was planning for Pro but now I am so tempted to get Max Pro. Is this Apple effect? :p

I would admit that pre-emptive hype over most expensive model is rather genius. And it's all done based on rumors. Subtle, Apple, really subtle.
good thing is zoom is very easy to test compared to other features and can be done at bestbuy on day one. zoom on ip14pmax is so horrible there r probably 200 phones with better zoom right now

Hope they switch the name to Ultra.

Pro Max feels long and silly. Ultra is just silly. :)

Increased optical zoom is a big development. Lots of users will take advantage of it. Zooming in on buildings, people, birds, distant wildlife, night scenes, clouds, sports figures, the stage at plays, rock concerts, children's performances, etc. It truly expands the canvas of photography and opens up new worlds.

Zoom is a critical reason many people still use digital cameras — 20-40x is great for travel, stage events, birding, sky gazing, etc. Current iPhones simply can't match the quality or utility of even basic, comparatively inexpensive, pocketable travel zooms in such cases (e.g., Canon SX260 or SX700+ series).

Once Apple achieves 10x+ with 2x that with digital, millions will recognize how valuable it is and use it routinely.

Where are my macrumor mini owners who said they’d never buy another iPhone but now are secretly planning to buy an iPhone pro max?
I'm a former 12 Mini owner (now a 13 Mini owner) who is considering just the regular 15 Pro if those smaller bezels mean a smaller form factor, and (hoping against hope) a lighter Pro than last year's.

It’s not as big as people describe, and I’m a woman with small hands and wrists, rarely carry a purse, and wear stretch jeans. I have 0 issues carrying my Pro Max and it’s not heavy.
Not heavy? I find the 14 Pro heavy (in comparison to the 13). Can’t imagine the weight of the Pro Max.

Of course the Pro Max is bigger and weigh more than the Pro version, but I have a thin case on my Pro Max and it don’t feel any heavier than if I went caseless. I get it that some people find the Pro Max heavy, but that’s why Apple have other phones with various screen sizes and weight.

It doesn't, and that is the problem. Instead of reducing bezels and reducing the size of the device they have gone with the trend of just making the screen bigger in the same size device - or even slightly larger. I'm in the group of people who would have loved a 5.8" screen of the X(s) in a smaller/sleeker/lighter form factor with the reduced bezels. Or basically a full screen with small bezels with the true size/weight of the iPhone 8. I too will hold onto my iPhone 13 mini as long as I can.

I used to always be excited about a new design, but ever since they squared off the edges again, I‘m afraid they will redesign it again, with rounded edges. The only physical change I would want Apple to make is to get rid of the camera bump. If they could do that, WITHOUT sacrificing any camera quality, then I would be happy.
That's a fair point and I agree.
I'd also like under display faceID,

I was in the Apple Store Sunday and just went to feel them in hand. I have the 13 mini and the only phones I'd buy are the 13 mini and SE3 because of weight. The 13 mini is preferable to me because it's also smaller. The person who wants a lightweight iPhone is out of luck. I do have an iPhone 5 but it only works on AT&T and I'm with Xfinity Mobile now.
