So we went from "There are no signs of a new iPad Min ever and the product line is effectively dead" to "A new one is coming as soon as next week".

I would think about 95% of the people who question the usefulness of a iPad Mini, even with the new bigger phones, has never actually used an iPad Mini. Perfect size and form-factor, especially for those who travel a lot. I haven't found a better device to use on a plane. But I use it for home, work, etc. I'ts my primary gaming device. Overall I love it. This rumor very much excites me!

Whenever I pick up my wife's 10.5" Pro it just feels like a ten ton... heavy thing.

Although I don't think they are going to announce a new regular iPad, I am absolutely excited of the prospects of a iPad XR! Hope they release it in the same matching colors as well. The only thing is with an iPad XR, i see them increasing prices back up to maybe $379-$399.
the mini will probably take the XR form factor and colors.. i bet..

I happen to agree with Kuo and have mocked up some of the products we should expect to see released. First, in addition to the updated iPad mini, we'll also see the iPad line embrace the notch in both portrait and landscape orientations:

The camera bump will join the notch in Apple's warm embrace:

The Apple Pencil will gain easy pairing similar to AirPods, and AirPods will in turn take design cues from the Apple Pencil:

And finally, we'll see the first Retina Mac mini!

The retina mac mini - ha ha ha ha

It's almost 2019 so let's see what Apple has in their Macs.
MacBook Pro: 2018 processors :)
MacBook: early 2017 processors
iMac: early 2017 processors
iMac Pro: Xeon processors based on the desktop i7 from 2015
Mac mini: 2013 processors
Mac Pro: Xeons based on the desktop i7 from 2012

I'm going to guess the MacBook gets a 2018 chip and the Mac mini gets some sort of ultra low end 2018 chip that uses very little power, but performs about the same as something from 2014. The iMac will be heading into 2019 with chips from October 2017 while the desktop "Pro" machines are apparently not getting anything this time around. We might see an all new Mac Pro form factor with 2015 era chip technology by the end of next year. Because, of course, Pros don't need much in a computer.

The iPad has never held any interest for me as a customer, but since I own a tiny handful of Apple shares I hope to see increased sales to other people.

Pilots?
“Pilots looking to buy the best iPad available today should definitely steer towards the 10.5″ Pro. This model significantly improves on previous full-size iPad designs by including a much faster processor, larger/brighter display and increased storage capacity”
Yes, Delta just ditched the Surface for the 10.5 Pro for around 15,000 pilots. The last airline using Surface is switching soon to iPad. They don't need to be high powered or replaced often, it's basically just apps displaying charts and maps, not intensive on the device. Biggest issue is battery cycles. Most plan for a 2-3 year replacement cycle. Mini is way too small for airline use, maybe it's more prevalent in props.

New AirPods for the holiday season would be wonderful. I've been holding off on a pair (plus the AirPower) for months and am ready to pull the trigger!

Been holding off as well. Mostly because I already own Beat X's and I'm hoping they eventually get redesigned/improve the sound quality at the very least. Neither of which will probably happen with the Gen 2 release. I'm assuming just a new case for wireless charging and new chip for siri.

No new Airpods will be out until AirPower is ready, that's my two cents.

Unfortunately that's my guess as well since it probably going to focus on the a wireless charging case.

I still think they look weird on a lot of people and will probably look weird on me my main concern will always be how they sound though. Oh and how well they say in your ears. The other point in getting them is getting rid of all cords.

Why are they listening to Kuo? Seriously these are all predictions everyone on this forum can make! USB Type C on Apple products? Ha! That's a good one!

Kuo has a very good track record. I don’t understand why people get so worked up over what analysts say. The difference between Kuo and forum users is that Kuo actually has knowledgeable connections whereas we are all just blindly speculating.

I would not be surprised to see Apple embrace USB-C. They’ve already done so with MacBooks. I imagine all new Mac models will only feature USB-C from here on. USB-C can do everything Lightning does. Switching would benefit Apple and consumers alike in a huge way when it comes to third party peripherals.

The Mac mini is not really mini anymore. It was mini a decade ago, when every other computer was a full tower. Mini is now Intel NUC size, or half the size of the Mac mini is each axis. Unless they're putting a real GPU in it, it needs to be cut in size and weight. The reason it's so large in the first place is because they had to fit a CD drive and a rotating hard drive in it, both of which are dead now. There's no point making it that large if it comes with no GPU.
But dang my nuc has a loud fan!

I think most people here would be exciteded about this but a Mini with the home button and bezels doesn’t sound very interesting to me.
My 71 year old mother would love a new Mini. Hers is okay but she definitely does not want a full-size iPad, ever (way too big/heavy for her hands). It's been a while since there was any update available so this would be an ideal Christmas present.

I wonder if by lower cost screen they mean "lower pixel density" ?

The iPad mini 4 has 326pi but the iPad Pros are both at 264. I'm not sure if that's because iPad mini users put the screen closer to their faces - but is a screen still retinal at 264ppi? And can one see the difference?

I know the XS to XR ppi change goes from 458 to 326 ppi - but am not sure what they look like.

My gut says it's one thing to charge a premium price for Apple design and ecosystem - it's another thing for them to charge the highest prices and then short-change the guts on their devices.

I could see them spending a decent amount of time introducing the new Pro iPads then showcasing the whole iPad line at the end with a brief mention of an upgraded Mini.

I also thought a cool way to introduce all these products would be to reveal them all simultaneously. Have a creative project as the central theme and show ways each new product could facilitate that goal. At the end run through all the specs and prices of each new product. Mix things up a bit.
