All quiet here over the past week. Anyone received their delivery recently? How are people who already have it getting on?

Mine had a pretty bad Freak out. Black flashing lines started appearing and gradually became green lines. Thick obvious lines. Now 1/4 of the screen is completely green and just getting worse and all within a month getting it. The settings menu would freeze the screen for its controls if I pressed the settings button on the remote. Once pressed I couldn't use the remote at all or the Power button on the screen to even shut it off. I reached out to support because the remote issue happened first they sent a replacement remote which took about 2 weeks to get in. The black lines and the green lines appeared within that 2 week span to which i reached out to them after i sent them a video of me working the new remote and the lines appearing. The screen did the exact same thing with the new remote where the screens controls would freeze up. I then sent them a picture of how fast it got worse with 1/4 of the screen now being useless. They then said they'd do a full replacement of the screen without question. Im not sure if they're also going to want me to send this screen back since they only asked me if i had the original boxing which I only have the white box it comes in. They just didnt say anything after that but im expecting to eitherway. So now i wait for a new replacement and hope this new one work lol. Another month to wait.

I haven't heard anything but that the shipping information had been sent to ExFed.

Maybe they're getting these things past Customs by shipping them via paddled canoe...

Really sorry to hear about your experience. I had to replace mine after experiencing vertical green lines only a couple of days after receiving the monitor. The exchange experience was good and quick in my case. I purchased from Alibaba/Kuycon and am UK based. My only issue with the whole returns process was that I was charged import duty on the replacement unit. I contacted FedEx about a refund for the second import charge only to be told I had to make a claim via HMRC. I made a claim but stalled at the point at which HMRC wanted to see the invoice for the original item. This causes an issue as the declared value of the original item by Kuycon was $400. Obviously the invoice will show the true value of the item which will lead HMRC to see that I have potentially underpaid tax and duties for the original item. I decided not to pursue the claim. Kuycon asked me to return the faulty unit. They asked me to arrange shipping which I did and they refunded me the shipping cost but it took quite a while for me to receive the shipping cost from them. I felt Kuycon did their best to make the return and replacement process as painless as possible but they’re just not set up for this kind of customer support. It’s frustrating that I’m out of pocket by approximately £80 from the whole return process but will just put it down to experience. The replacement unit has been flawless for the last 3/4 weeks and overall I’m still happy with my purchase.

Anyone found any fitting webcam for this monitor? I know the one developed for XDR won’t work. Anything else, preferably 4K?

It's definitely not what you're asking, but the iPhone's continuity camera works amazingly well and gives you a webcam of better quality than any others out there. The awkward part is obviously finding a place for it. I got a stand that can rise pretty high with a MagSafe puck to hold the phone. Works well for my use case of needing a camera only a couple times a week. Not ideal if you need a solution to use more frequently.

Thanks. Yeah I know about that solution. I typically have 3–4 meetings a day, so looking for something more permanent.

As cool as this solution is, for many people it simply won't work for practical reasons, because the iPhone has to be constantly at hand as a tool for multi-factor authentication, and there are certainly other use cases where you need to reach for your iPhone. I therefore imagine it would be very time-consuming to put the iPhone in the holder for a video conference and then take it out again to use it for the next meeting. I have 8-10 online meetings per day and have to authenticate myself 4-6 times per day via MFA on my systems.

I second that.

Anyway, anyone tried the Logitech MX Brio, or Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra (on a Mac and/or the G32P)?

I haven't tried with the Kuycon monitor, but have been happy with the Insta360 Link2c webcam. (or the Link2 if you want it to follow you around) Lots of good options to tweak the picture and settings, and in general looks great in lots of different lighting conditions.

This will run up against the USB 2.0 (480Mbps) limitations if you plan to use the USB-A USB-C hub ports on the display. So it will be fine for a 1080p camera, but a 4K camera won’t work (well) at full resolution, you’d need to run it at 1080p.

Well that sucks… thanks for the heads up. Guess I’ll have to add a USB hub to the shopping list as well.

I’ve been using the Obsbot Meet SE:

They also produce a higher specification model. The SE is fine for my needs. I wanted something small and unobtrusive and this fits the bill. I tried the Logi 4K Pro Magnetic Webcam for Pro Display XDR but it seems the Kuycon isn’t magnetic so the camera wouldn’t ‘stick’! I sent it back.

One thing to note, Apple prevents third party webcams utilising echo cancellation so if you use FaceTime the camera becomes unusable unless you use headphones. I think Zoom and Teams use there own echo cancellation so you should have no problems. Just something I wasn’t aware of having previously only used Apple’s built in webcams.

Is that true for the Logi 4K Pro as well? I’m thinking that otherwise that might be an option after all, if you just get it to stick somehow.

This is probably overkill like the rest of my setup, but I use a Sony ZV-1F mounted to an Elgato master mount. I've been really happy with it.

This is the reply I got from Obsbot technical support:

This issue occurs because Apple (its built-in software and browsers, etc.) only provides echo cancellation for its own products, but not for ours.

For the echo issue, here are some possible solutions:
1. Use headphones during calls.
2. Use software with echo cancellation, such as Zoom.

3. Use web version like Google Meet in the Google Chrome browser.
I then asked if it is just their product that suffers from the issue with FaceTime and they replied:

Webcams that do not provide an echo cancellation feature will all experience this issue.

I suggest you try using headphones or accessing the FaceTime web version via Google Chrome to see if this resolves the issue. However, you need to follow these steps: the Apple device user should generate a FaceTime link and share it with others. The others can then join the call through a browser (including Chrome), but they cannot initiate the call, only join it.This feature requires iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or macOS 12 or lat
er.

if you just get it to stick somehow.
I was thinking the same thing. I was going to buy some of those small strip magnets with an adhesive back:

Don't most webcams stream compressed video over USB? Netflix needs 25Mbps for UHD and even Blu-Ray doesn't go above 128Mbps.

Those are internet upload speed requirements, not USB data transfer rates. The webcam itself (usually) doesn’t process/compress the video for upload — that happens in software after the data reaches your device.

Is the stand on this tilt *and* height adjustable, or just a tilt stand? I can see that the G27P on ClickClack's site appears to have the tilt and height adjustable stand variant as standard (if you pick a stand) as you can clearly see it in the product pictures. However the G32P you can't see clearly. Can anyone confirm for me? Thanks!

It is tilt AND height. Only if you want to rotate the monitor (from left to right or vice versa) do you have to rotate the entire stand. But it's the same with the Apple Studio Display.

just got it, quick assemble and connected to MacBook m4. Used the cable included in the box and was flawless integration – Laptop is charges via the same cable. Got 2 remotes but no batteries but there's a small on/off button on the bottom right of the monitor. Resolution is same as the 5K iMac. The colours look a bit more punchy, saturated but not a problem for me: not really doing accurate colour work.

Perfect for anyone looking for a glossy, pixel dense monitor. Dimension is perfect for productivity. You can have an active window (e.g. Figma in my case) and still have plenty of space for email, slack, etc. Don't use it for gaming.

Stand is aluminium (heavy) and easy to adjust: height and tilt. Never tested the Studio Display stand but this is quite smooth.

A lot of unknowns especially with reliability but from a size, quality of the materials, resolution, ease-of-use, this is easily a productivity monitor that I can recommend. I'll run a few comparisons with my iMac for colour calibration/accuracy.

quick note: bought via Alibaba. Was offered free shipping and took 10 days to arrive. Paid £88 of duty (UK)

For actual owners: does G32P too glossy(mentioned in another thread)? how does it compare with iMac 5k and LG 27 5K?
