For those of us who travel quite a bit it would be nice to stop packing the charger for the watch. It would be really convenient to plug in the phone at night and have it charge my watch at the same time.
It's starting to sound like a gas station ED pill at this point.
Watch the show.
In a vacuum sounds great -but Apple continues to sell previous models for many years and this will bring confusion - and more importantly - next year - what do you name it?

Where is the innovation??????????
Of course I’m just assuming, it would be beneficial (If possible) to charge the AirPods or Apple Watch for a ‘quick charge’. I don’t necessarily need to charge someone else’s phone, but if you could charge accessories like my AirPods, that would’ve been an outstanding feature. I’m sure others are in agreement with that if it was a possibility.
Yes, they did a good job confusing everybody with the iPad. Most people don't know what iPad they have. Heck, I don't know what iPad I have, the first one that didn't have "air" in the name, is it gen 6-7 something? what are we at now?
"Outstanding?" Nice, maybe, but the whole point of AirPods cases is that they hold 24 hours of charge, so they provide the "quick charge" for your AirPods, and there's little chance for most people that you need a "quick charge" when you have a case.
Having "11" only in the XR successor and not in the Pro would only create confusion. I don't think Apple would do that. They would either have the 11 in all the lineup or scrap the numbers all together.

Maybe for the Apple Watch for travelers as others have pointed out, but AirPods not so much.
Tim Cook: "Ours go to eleven."
I mean, you’re right, the AirPods do hold a long charge, but I always don’t have the opportunity to charge my AirPods or maybe I forget to, so why not have the opportunity if I can charge my AirPods bilaterally with the phone if need be when my AirPods battery is low. I mean, we live in a world where everything needs to be charged, (Phone/Apple Watch/AirPods), etc. and I personally would find it beneficial top off my AirPods using the phone for say like 15 minutes to accrue extra usage throughout the day without having an extra lightning cable with me. So that would be an outstanding feature for me, especially for those who travel.
There will be another beta for iOS/iPadOS today after the keynote and another one on Friday, that will also be the GM.I do hope they are on track with iOS 13, iPad OS and Catalina though.
My phone is constantly low on battery. I would never use it to charge anything else. But with the bi-lateral charging feature missing, I can’t use it to receive power either from another phone, huh?
