The vast majority of iPhone buyers (non-tech-savvy consumers and those who buy iPhone just because it's iPhone) will not care about a camera bump. Apple is not catering to those of us who care about the nitty-gritty details. If the iOS 10 iMessage updates didn't prove that enough, I don't know what will.

The larger sensor is going to be great for low light photos. The camera already protrudes do why not make the sensor bigger for better photos . Galaxy s7 takes photos so well because it's has a large sensor.

Unfortunately fugly antenna bands confirmed.

Antenna lines? What the hell are you guys doing with your phone? I can see them only when I switch vom my leather cover to the hunchback und back again, and even then I don't look at antenna lines.

The majority of people I know don't use a case on their iPhone. I do have some friends who I know are klutz' and they all do have cases.

Come on apple, i try to support the company but sheesh galaxy arent looking to bad right about now, basically the same design with a better camera. Just hire new people please, i guess ill keep my 6

I hear what you are saying. But i think the hype is much because of Apples traditional focus on detail and finesse. They can not compromise too much on that before it spreads in the 'lines of consumers' in a negative way.

Another thing is the fact that the grade of innovation flattens since the technology matures. But there are certain areas that obviously could be implemented: for example water resistance (very valuable for most people) and reduced bezels (which simply gives users more screen real estate in relation to physical phone size).

Smart phone vendors will have a really hard time differentiating their products eventually (it is already like that for android users) because in the end it will just be a screen with no bezel and a back-side. So when it comes to hardware design it will mostly be the backside and sides of the phone to work with. I will be all software and ecosystem (if it not already is just that) that plays the big role in the purchase decision.

Apple is a world class company with world class design and engineering teams...

If any of these rumors about a camera bump are true, it proves that Apple doesn't care about obscenely ugly products.

Furthermore it proves Apple hypocrisy is alive and well.

Apple definitely has some teams that design first on looks and everything is second. Did you ever try the old hockey puck mouse? After minutes of use my hand hurt. Who in the hell designed that stupid thing? I think it was designed to hurt your hand so you could go back to staring at how nice your Mac looked.

I'm disappointed they still haven't managed to hide the ugly antenna lines and get rid of the camera bump.
Many will remember that the original iPhone didn't have copy and paste!

Apple couldn’t be bothered, even though BlackBerry and others had it.

Saving copy and paste, gave Apple some leverage over buyers of the second generation iPhone. It's a classic move to starve people, getting them to upgrade to each years new model.

Perhaps in the next year or two, Apple will... Oh forget that.

Funny how most of you are so quick to call it ugly but will slap on a REALLY ugly tacky case as soon as you get it anyway.
Yes I think the leaked model is ugly in a comical way and yes if I end up getting it I will indeed stick it in a very hideous case at some point. On occasion I've stuck my current iPhones into silicone cases that look like cartoon cats. I have no shame. It seems Apple doesn't, either. Life with IPhone is amusing like that.

After reading appalling horrifying news articles on my newsfeed, it puts my soul into a far happier place to come here and see in this cute little world of Apple that here the "horrifying news" is that Apple might make the next IPhone's backside look like a cartoon character's face. I love this forum. (That's sincere, not sarcasm. This place is fun).

Yeah, because cases are gonna cover that ugly camera, so nobody's able to take pictures anymore.
So what's your point?

I know nothing is confirmed yet, but IP7 is shaping up to be absolute garbage. What has Apple been working on for the past 2 years? Is it too much to ask for a new design every two years? This is more like iPhone 6SS.

Garbage? So you know exactly what it's going to come with? You have any details on the cameras for us? The A10 processor? I'm DYING to hear all about it.

BTW, other than a camera or processor, what exactly have other phone makers brought to the market with their phones that's so groundbreaking and innovative?

Same old same old. Like I said previously, some new features, the same or similar boring design, sad really. Better camera? Great, everyone's selfies are going to be that much better. Getting rid of the headphone jack is not that big of a deal. Means all of the millions of traditional headphones we use will require an adapter that Apple will charge $50 for...

There are too many other great new products from other manufacturers to ignore. All these constant tweaks all the while several other products with outdated hardware are still being sold at prices way above the competition. I don't know how much longer they can keep this up. It's getting depressing.

Sorry for the rant. I have been an Apple junkie for 20 plus years but they are no longer innovators of design anymore. Late to the game with their watch, outdated hardware, pretty much just an endless cycle of tweaks to existing hardware.

Sure...

Better camera requires a bigger sensor, better sensor will allow more light, so now I wonder if it will be true DSLR quality?

Newsflash most companies going forward will be updating their design every 3 years.. That's the way forward as it becomes harder and harder for major improvements

One man's trash is millions' treasure. Thankfully you're not on the design board.
You know nothing about my design skills.
There're a lot of people who'll agree iPhone 6 design is an ugly trash. As well as the new Mac Pro. As well as the iPhone battery pack. You just have no taste, so speak for yourself.

No, but we can read your comment history. Tells us all we need to know about you. I'm glad Cook and Ive are running things, and NOT someone like you.

We, the Queen? Must be pretty bored and miserable queen to spend time reading my comment history.

I have to admit that the dual lens bump looks better than the single lens bump and I would be willing to jump from my 5S to a 7+ along as it retains the headphone jack (which I'm doubting will happen)

In an ideal would I would hope that come September I can jump to a 128GB 7+ with a headphone jack in space grey (or slate black if they would bring it back)

My pictures of the kids will be that much better. Probably not selfies. I don't really do selfies, but I know enough to know that they're generally done with the front-facing camera. If you're not tech-savvy enough to know that I'm not sure why you expect your opinion to carry any weight.

It's not too much to ask. You could even ask for a new design every week. Whether you get it is another matter.
