Are you sure? Based simply on the pics in the article, the camera seems pretty flush. Look at the camera module case surround. It's convex, sinking back to the camera. Nothing there suggests a protrusion. There could be a protrusion (probably is), but nothing in the pics suggest there is. Cursory googling just brings up multiple renders with varying levels of protrusion, from none to pretty big. We'll see soon I guess.

Obviously no one can be 'sure' at this point, as it's not out yet. But once the Speck case is removed in the photo, the shadowing seems to show (to me anyway) that the camera itself protrudes from the phone.

Same old, same old. This isn't going to sell any better than the S9. It's all about software and silicon, I couldn't care less about phone design as we are all moving towards an all-screen rectangular piece of glass.

Project Fuschia. Weak rumors it will hit soon. Think Google's Fossil deal signals this. Apple may be caught flat-footed.

Not really sure what you are getting at here. So you think Google's new OS will do what exactly? Android already leads in market share, but they are behind when it comes to performance, security, privacy, ecosystem, apps, and support. I am not sure this brand new OS is going suddenly dominate in those areas right off the bat.

I wish I could be interested in Samsung phones but sigh, I quite like my Apple integration with TV, Watch, Phone and Macbook
Agreed. Not super happy with Apple these days, but I've been invested in apple for so long that switching to android would be like starting over.

I wonder if it has a notch, won't that be fun lol

There are better renderings of front and back of S10 series. Very neat in the front, curvey with clean camera hole in the back.

I have used S9+ and it was really a wonderful one from Software, performance, security updates, Camera, Display (one of the best), it came with a clear case(you save straight $39 on that).

I feel S10 will be no different but may bit start boring for Samsung consumers after seeing similar form factor since S6 edge...

Based on my Note 5 heavy usage of 3 years never had battery issues, throttling issues.

They all are wonderful mobiles, too bad Android has great competition at the flagship levels. Not easy to sit funny far too long

All too big, Samsung. If you could manage to put this in an SE-sized version I'd buy it immediately.

the S10 leaks have already shown the front. this is where the "hole punch" discussions in tech have come from. the S10 will not have a notch, but will feature a single hole in the display where the camera is. I believe on the S10+ it'll be two holes.

I was actually wondering what people meant by the "hole punch" ...hmm interesting way to do it.

Android as a whole has gotten better. The biggest problem is the lack of software updates. The standard $1,000 Android phone in the US still does not have the latest Android Pie due to restrictions from mobile carriers. You should never let a mobile carrier tell you when to upgrade your software. Ever.
Not just the carrier, but the OEM themselves as well.
But why do you care? It’s already shown by many here that Android updates are not important.

yeah,

these are the expected fronts. still unsure about it myself. guess I'll wait and see

I'm not(ch) sure which would be more distracting, a hole or the notch. Honestly now, after owning an X and an XS Max, I don't really get distracted by the notch as much. It will be interesting to actually hold one of these and see what its like with the hole.

If you're familiar with other smartphones like Samsung Galaxy their fingerprint scanner is on the back. If you look closely that scanner is no longer there, either they completely switched to face scanner only or added in-display fingerprint scanner. If Samsung adopted the in-display fingerprint scanner it's going to be a big deal just like Apple adopted NFC. Just to show if a famous brand like Apple and Samsung make some feature standard it's going to be widely adopted even Apple might follow.
What Samsung does do not usually translate to wide adoption.
Heart rate sensor on the phone? Iris scanner? Even the Chinese laughed at those Samsung features. Meanwhile, Samsung is now copying the “notch” (having it not in the middle doesn’t mean innovation). And many Chinese phones already have in display fingerprint scanner.

Samsung is just a follower now, to the point that they start ODM-ing phones, ie having a Chinese company make the phones and put Samsung brand on it. Samsung even does a complete lineup to copy Chinese phones, the Galaxy M series, complete with tear drop notch copied from the Chinese phones.

One feature I’ve appreciated on Android is Messages on the Web; granted it’s not iMessage, as such, but if my work phone is on charge at least I can pick up SMS via a web browser.

I'll wait until the event. Might skip this generation due to new techniques they're using.

yes everyone is moving toward all screen piece of glass,
The S10 lineup looks like it has a camera protrusion as well, so not sure how the iPhone looks any worse. Personally, I think the plastic case makes it look cheap, but that’s just my personal taste.
a huge, weird, square lump at one side on the phone isn't worse than a neatly designed central 3 lens camera with slight protrude to you?

Oh, but mate, it's all about curved edges! Whoever thought curved edges were a brilliant idea needs to be dragged out back and hit across the head with a bat. Pain in the butt with the blur and having to be careful even with a decent slim case. Just make the rear a screen and be done with it.
