sim trays? so exciting... do you also have some leaks about the colors of the cables?

Photos depicting alleged SIM trays for the upcoming low-cost 6.1-inch iPhone leaked today in a selection of different colors that include space gray, silver, red, blue, and brown.

The image was shared on Twitter by Ben Geskin, a leaker who often highlights images pulled from Chinese social networks and other similar sources.

It's not known if these SIM trays are legitimate, but rumors have suggested Apple is planning to release the 6.1-inch iPhone in multiple color options. Apple has reportedly considered colors that include gray, white, blue, red, pink, black, and orange.

Last week, images depicting 6.1-inch iPhone dummy models in white, blue, pink, and red began circulating, but at least one of the colors doesn't match up between the dummy model and the SIM tray seen here, as the blue SIM tray appears lighter in color.

Apple's 6.1-inch iPhone is expected to feature an LCD display and a single-lens camera to keep costs lower than the two OLED devices that are in the works.

Rumors have suggested Apple could perhaps call the lower-cost device the "iPhone Xr." Other prospective names have been floating around as well, including "iPhone 9" and "iPhone Xc," harkening back to the iPhone 5c that came in multiple colors.

Apple is set to unveil the new 6.1-inch iPhone alongside the 5.8-inch OLED "iPhone Xs" and the 6.5-inch OLED "iPhone Xs Max" at an event that will take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow morning. For full details on what to expect when the new iPhones debut, make sure to check out our roundup.

The 6.1-inch iPhone could potentially be available in limited quantities at launch or pre-orders for the device could begin at a later date as rumors have indicated that Apple has faced some delays due to production issues.

Please don't call it "low cost" If rumors are true, it won't be a 5c or 5se type phone. It will be the lowest cost new model perhaps but will be about the same price as an 8 last year.

While I'm not buying a phone this year, it would be nice to see the entire phone as one color versus the front face of the phone being black.
No. A phone with a red or blue or brown or other color bezel around the screen would be hideous.

Great more boring colors:rolleyes:, we already have the black, gray and white models for a more formal look, give us something more vibrant like this:

While I agree vibrant colors are more fun to look at, I wouldn't buy any of them...

Remember when iPod Nanos came in a bunch of colors?

I first bought the black one, but then I accidentally left it in a cab. Then I got the silver one, but it was stolen. Then I bought the black one again, which I still have in a closet somewhere. So 3 opportunities, and each time I went with boring black or silver. But maybe I'm just boring...

Can anyone explain to me what a dual-SIM does for the average user?
Dual-SIM tray would be fantastic for me. I work for a UK based company but live in the US. I travel to Europe at least once a month. I carry two SIM cards, one from ATT in the US and one from Vodafone in the UK. Thus, having a phone that can take 2 SIM cards saves the hassle of replacing SIM cards when I travel including losing them in my wallet and having to buy a replacement. Apple still doesn't understand their users are also global users. I also do not understand why they have to launch phones for different carriers in the US. Those phones are all the same. Total BS and an inventory nightmare.

Yes, there's room for a SIM card on both sides of the tray.

Looks like only certain regions will get the dual-SIM hardware.

That's clearly not happening this year.
“Yes, there's room for a SIM card on both sides of the tray” No!

I'm sure they are stuck with regulatory issues that prevent them from making 1 simple SKU, otherwise they would.

Here is tomorrow keynote line "Sim trays 35% thinner and 70% faster. It is the fastest sim trays that we have ever made."

I was looking forward to a Dual Sim Orange one, might even have dragged me away from the perfection that is the iPhone SE.

Yup I live in US and Canada, fly back and forth every 2-3 weeks have 2 phones that I carry on me at all times. Would be amazing if I can ditch them both for a single dual SIM phone.

Also not sure how hard this would be to implement, but with both of my carriers supporting WIFI calling it would be amazing if while roaming the other sim could use WIFI calling off the data that is local to the country you are in.

Apple’s innovation team is firing on all cylinders with a dual SIM card tray. Meanwhile the rest of its competitors had this years prior. Scratch that this is magical, two SIMs. /s
