Well, in a place like the US where most people have data plans it doesn't have much of a market. However, in Europe it can be pretty convenient since many people live in countries that are foreign to them. (ex: You're from Sweden and you live in Spain, carriers in the EU offer you free roaming but only for a maximum of 3-4 months a year as a fair use policy for those who travel. So if you have a dual sim phone you can have a Spanish sim card for your local data, calls and messages and the Swedish sim card so your friends from Sweden can reach out without having to replace a new number.

Or even in your own country, sometimes there are certain carriers that offer you great and huge data plans but crap reception so you may want to have two sim card from different carriers just to have the best of both worlds.
Got it. SIM switching = International travel. Dual SIM = less switching.

Great more boring colors:rolleyes:, we already have the black, gray and white models for a more formal look, give us something more vibrant like this:

I agree, Apple has tons of experience making colored aluminum bodies, and no doubt tons of data on what colors/shades people buy. This rumored lineup is much more subtle and less dramatic than I expected.

"It's not known if these SIM trays are legitimate" - by now I believe almost any leak that comes out - Apple's ability to work in secret or surprise anybody past a long time ago.

While I agree vibrant colors are more fun to look at, I wouldn't buy any of them...

Remember when iPod Nanos came in a bunch of colors?

I first bought the black one, but then I accidentally left it in a cab. Then I got the silver one, but it was stolen. Then I bought the black one again, which I still have in a closet somewhere. So 3 opportunities, and each time I went with boring black or silver. But maybe I'm just boring...
I bought the green one! It's still in a drawer somewhere...
I also had the green iPhone 5c at one point. If they made another green iPhone I'd probably buy that too...

if imacs weren't so colorful and unique looking, these would mmmmayyyyybe ay may be nice, theyreally need better options, or just leave it to 2 -3 colors. even that blue is nothing special. but besides that id ratehr the phone be the same thickness as the camera. now the screens are so wide that the phnes are too big, but thickness is nowhere near being important IMO

that Brown could be the same color depicted in last week's image leak...

*perhaps this has already been said as I did not read every comment. sorry if so.

Lol

OT.
I am amazed by how fast you are (You must be a Professional), the article was published at xx.02, you got the idea, worked on the video and comment just in 3-4 minutes, your post was at xx.05
Thanks! :) I hate to spoil the magic, but I posed a similar comment sans image and then edited it later.

In fairness, most of that time was spent rewriting the webpage that blurs the image; I must’ve deleted my older one.

Wouldn't it make more sense to produce one color, which would inevitably be cheaper since we all are going to put a damn case on it anyway? Seriously...we're not in fruity iMac color world anymore!

Photos depicting alleged SIM trays for the upcoming low-cost 6.1-inch iPhone leaked today in a selection of different colors that include space gray, silver, red, blue, and brown.

The image was shared on Twitter by Ben Geskin, a leaker who often highlights images pulled from Chinese social networks and other similar sources.

It's not known if these SIM trays are legitimate, but rumors have suggested Apple is planning to release the 6.1-inch iPhone in multiple color options. Apple has reportedly considered colors that include gray, white, blue, red, pink, black, and orange.

6-1-inch-iphone-dummies-800x455.jpg

Last week, images depicting 6.1-inch iPhone dummy models in white, blue, pink, and red began circulating, but at least one of the colors doesn't match up between the dummy model and the SIM tray seen here, as the blue SIM tray appears lighter in color.

Apple's 6.1-inch iPhone is expected to feature an LCD display and a single-lens camera to keep costs lower than the two OLED devices that are in the works.

Rumors have suggested Apple could perhaps call the lower-cost device the "iPhone Xr." Other prospective names have been floating around as well, including "iPhone 9" and "iPhone Xc," harkening back to the iPhone 5c that came in multiple colors.

Apple is set to unveil the new 6.1-inch iPhone alongside the 5.8-inch OLED "iPhone Xs" and the 6.5-inch OLED "iPhone Xs Max" at an event that will take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow morning. For full details on what to expect when the new iPhones debut, make sure to check out our roundup.

The 6.1-inch iPhone could potentially be available in limited quantities at launch or pre-orders for the device could begin at a later date as rumors have indicated that Apple has faced some delays due to production issues.

First of all, these are relatively bad fotos and colours are notoriously hard to capture correctly. Second of all, judging from these pictures and extrapolating how much better the real items always look, these phones will look absolutely amazing, in a subtle, classy way. My money is on the blue looking best, but the „brown“, which Geskin in a later tweet called „taupe“, may look better still. I would never buy a red iPhone, but even that red looks darker and deeper (hence, better) than the red iPhones we had before. I am still completely in awe with my silver X and have no intention whatsoever to buy a new iPhone this year, but man, those that are in the market will be spoilt for choice.

Oh, and last and definitely least, everyone who made a lazy, predictable Zune joke in this thread should be banned from Macrumors for at least a week. That crap makes reading threads like these quite painful. I‘m not even kidding.
