Well, so much for having any surprises on the 12th. It seems that maybe Chinese factories are not as big of an issue for leaks as the Cupertino headquarters...Although I guess this could have came from the GM sent to be installed on production units.

New stuff looks cool, though I don't really like that red crown on the AW. Colored crowns is a cool idea, but if the crown is red that seems like it would limit what watchface colors you could go for. And here is to hoping T-Mobile comes out with a free apple watch plan add-on.

Looks like 15A372. Hmm same build as beta 10 with the “5” and “a” dropped. Seems that would explain the quick release of b10 just after b9.
Interesting thanks. Was gonna install on my iPad. But Apple stopped signing it. Really wanted to know how it runs without all the extra beta bloatware.

Touch ID NEVER worked correctly for me until about 8 months ago. Then it worked perfectly, on all devices.

Now it's back to square 1? Yikes :(
Now that is weird. Touch ID worked for 1 day when I got my ipad pro 12.9. I ended up disabling it. My new iphone SE has worked perfect for 1 week now. I assumed my fingers were too dry but it might be the OS?

Would be a great option to enable, but it should only work in closer proximity. At the least it would give a message on the Apple Watch letting them know someone unlocked their iPhone. But it would be extra secure if it used that and the face unlock as an option, so we'll see.

I think that’s the point... just the option to have, to be able to enable it.

Like the best way to keep your iPhone secure is to disable Siri, Reply To Message and Wallet from the Lockscreen... yet the convenience of having them enabled provides a better experience.

The original Macintosh ditched the concept of buying a monitor and computer separately, and gave us an all-in-one. I'm sure if you were there back then, you will be complaining how Apple took away your freedom from choosing a monitor of your liking.

Need a more modern example? Steve Jobs transitioned Apple from PowerPC to intel. While there was rosetta, in the end, powerPC was dropped, and later, 32-bit as well on OS X. Were you complaining back then as well?

I don't get it. I guess the geeks here are the people that most resistant to progress. Such irony.
You mean like stickers for iMessage, a gazillion emoji and morphing iPhone into a Samsung Galaxy S?

girly? how old are you? do you walk through nature and point to flowers and say they're girly? ugh what a stupid thing to think.

lol this made me laugh. i’m just imaging a person in nature pointing how girly everything looks. although there are artistic decisions on the wallpapers so for him to say they are aesthetically feminin could be a valid argument. i personally like them but can see his point as well.

Is this a troll? The Apple Watch is exactly the same but it has a bright red crown? That’s hideous, I hope that’s not true...

Same build as beta 10. Just dropped the "a" from "15A5372a"?
I mean it's not technically the same build. It drops the 5 and the a. It also removes the feedback app and all beta bloatware. Clearly it's not the same build as it has new wallpapers and other tidbits that beta 10 doesn't have.

You mean like the original Apple Watch Edition in gold?

Please no more leaks! Lets wait for the main event on Sept 12th. It's like the run up to Christmas, but before it happens, people are already opening all the presents :):):):):):):)

I know the event hasn't happened and we don't know any details, but unless Apple really sells this Face ID thing, I feel like I would go for an iPhone 7S vs an iPhone 8 just for Touch ID. I don't want to hold my phone up for a "selfie" to unlock the device. The fingerprint sensor made so much sense and seemed so discreet.

Plus, no consumer face scanning seemed to be all that great so far. What about a photo of you? I trust that Apple will implement this right, but eh.

Sometimes I need to unlock my phone in the dark, at night. Perhaps I don't understand the tech, but I'm guessing I'll have to say goodbye to being able to do this.

Red and gold go well together but that bright red on a space grey AW just seems random and seems like a half-assed effort to make it different from the predecessor.

Same apple watch design and the hideous notch cut outs at the top of the iPhone. I still need to see it in person but not happy about it.

Here is the revised AirPod. Note the small dot on the front—either a charging LED or I think it could be a tiny speaker that you can use to locate it it easier if you lose it? I wonder if they've improved anything internally such as the battery life or have a W2 chip.

More battery life is always a plus, but do you really think the AirPods have that problem? Mine never seem to run out because they're always charged. I get 5-6 hours of continuous use and charge the battery case maybe once a week. And I use them for both work and recreation. The insanely great battery life is one of the things that impresses me most about my AirPods.

I'm not really in the market for a new phone but I might pick up the new Apple Watch.

I was prepared to buy the new phone, but I'm not hearing anything that really makes me want to buy.
- I'm not convinced by FaceID, and moreover I just don't like the concept. This makes authentication a passive thing, when really I believe it should be a deliberate action.
- An OLED screen would be nice, but the notch looks like some bone-headed move Samsung would make for the sake of differentiation.
- Wireless charging would be cool, but apparently it won't be compatible with anything and all chargers will need to be licensed by Apple.

So yeah, I might save half the money and also get a new Apple Watch, and maybe the new AirPods. The biggest problem with the Watch is still software, though - the SDK is too limited to really make any interesting or engaging Apps beyond Apple's limited demo usecases.

One thing we don't yet know: Will it cost to upgrade iTunes movies to 4K, and if so, how much?
That’s what I want to know. There have been some good movie sales on itunes lately and I don’t want to be burned with an upgrade price. But maybe they’ll upgrade existing content and make you pay more for new content and I’ll get burned by not buying more movies now.
