I was hoping they'd finally rethink the 12 year old app springboard and dock design, but nope. Exact same old, just with a coat of black.

I think their design team has taken an indefinite sabbatical and it's just MBA dropout product owners running the show.
The grid works, so why change it? People know how to use it. Also, the home screen is like a door, and the icons are handles. You don't pay much attention to a door, do you? I don't know about you, but I don't spend much time on my home screen, so how it looks means very little to me

I’m disappointed that this looks like a small update but that being said, based on the wallpaper and no other changes sans dark mode, this could be a really early design and not actually from Beta 1. I’m hoping to see more UI changes next Monday.

Please change the volume And a phone call taking the entire screen up

iOS is the most well-known UI in the world. Instantly identifiable. Easy to use from toddlers to ninety olds. Why risk it?

What is this dark mode hype about?! It rally don’t get it. iOS in dark just looks awful.

Hoped for a major redesign but it seems like it won’t happen.

I know it's a subtle thing, but why do these "leaks" portray the iPhone X, not the newer Xs? You can tell by the lack of an additional antenna on the top (and bottom I think).

Pure black gives me a headache :(. I was hoping for dark gray. :(
What about a slider to change the dark value? It will be clever of them to do it.

great redesign though
Actually, there is an inconsistency going on with these leaks. First, the dock has a darker tint, then on the taken screenshot, it's lighter.

Plus, why would they use old wallpaper? Not going to mention these are iPhone X, not Xs.

It's gonna be hard for me to keep my SIM card in an iPhone if this minor nonsense is all they have planned for iOS 13 after a whole year with basically no changes in 12 apart from grouped notifications. The iOS springboard was looking really dated last year, much less this one. If iOS 13 is just a visual carbon copy of the same thing, that's going to be a massive disappointment. They've just gone too long without any visual refresh. It's been 7 years since iOS 7, and other than the new icons the functionality of springboard didn't change at all then either.

My main hope is these screenshots leaked from someone who was working on the new Reminders & Find My apps and maybe didn't have access to a build with any UI changes present.

I notice there is a "pull bar" on both iPad apps at the top indicating that both apps will be able to be undocked from the screen to float. Thats a pretty big confirmation to me
That bar's already there, no? One app can currently float above two others in split screen. Not sure it's evidence of anything new.

Interesting icon choices for the tools at the bottom of the screenshot editor. Skeuomorphism gradually finding its way back into the interface.
