Actually, there is an inconsistency going on with these leaks. First, the dock has a darker tint, then on the taken screenshot, it's lighter.
This type of UI inconsistency is very common in betas of a major release. It’s not uncommon for them to even make their way into a final release.

That being said, it’s a little off that they were able to capture a screenshot of the dark dock once (in the first screenshot) but not in the 3rd. That seems fishy.

great redesign though

That looks great can’t wait for iOS 13

Cancelled? Apple never said they were doing it, so it couldn't have been Cancelled. AirPower was Cancelled, because it had already been announced.
Unofficially they did via twitter. It was then confirmed cancelled via the same twitter account.. aka Craig. It's still up on his page.

Interesting icon choices for the tools at the bottom of the screenshot editor. Skeuomorphism gradually finding its way back into the interface.
Skeuomorphism never left. The Apple Watch is nothing but Skeuomorphism. The Apple Pencil is an example of Skeuomorphism.

Plus, why would they use old wallpaper? Not going to mention these are iPhone X, not Xs.
I'll give you the most obvious inconsistency.. look at the time vs notifications. Same time, different notification tags. Definitely redacted information.

Just use invert colours does same thing
Those complaining don’t really want an iPhone or iOS for that matter.
not true i have everything in apples eco system and wouldn't switch but these boring updates are annoying me i don't care for dark mode not used it ever on any app or Mac i want simple things like remove annoying home bar and give me something fresh but nope just few minor updates like everything apple is doing now days

Theory - This is from iOS 12. The pics are showing an iPhone X, not XS. The wallpaper is iOS 12 and in addition, Dark Mode and other features were supposedly initially planned for iOS 12 but got bumped back so this could be a screenshot from what iOS 12 was supposed to have...

I mean, they always use 9:41 but yeah, those "leaks" smell very fishy. 9to5mac did indeed leak the Xs and Xs Max but I don't know why I don't trust these screenshots. More so they include old wallpaper.

Sad to see the overall UI that started with the tacky ios7 is sill tacky. A lot can be said about skeuomorphism, I still think that previous UI designs were far stronger.

You could be dead right. The fact iOS is portrayed in the body of iPhone X, not Xs proves it even more.

"Why change what is not broken, you're hating to hate"

Or because the same basic grid of icons that you cannot change the layout to or add stuff too (like widgets) after 12 years is boring. There are PLENTY of ways to allow customization of the OS while keeping the walled garden. Most customization would not require access to that walled garden in fact (hide the dock, change colors, etc).

Why? Because boring doesnt sell phones and if you didnt notice Apple tanked on year to year device sales. What would perk it up a bit for free (they are updating the OS anyway and paying their team already)?

Updating the UI, make it a bit more customizable built into the OS. Maybe steal some Android people who are there only because of customization (the number 1 reason I know of other than hating Apple to hate Apple and device pricing); that will bring SOME portion of sales in.

Everyone is pretending like if Apple didnt drop a much more customizable homescreen on us people wouldnt like it or care. Sorry but that apologist, that its good enough why bother progressing it forward

I really do think, coming from someone who has owned every iPhone since the 3GS, that Apple has gotten too stubborn for its own good telling users what they want or dont want.

Maybe its just an early build, so there is no lnew wallpaper yet. Also, iOS1.0 and 2.0 had the same default wallpaper. iOS4 and 5 had the same default wallpaper. Maybe thats whats happening

Inside just tweeted saying the redesigned homescreen is iPad only, and the screenshot is an early build. New icons and wallpapers get added later, and even Apple employees don't see them until close to WWDC. He also said to tune into to his podcast tomorrow for more details.

Actually it’s not, when you invert the colors you lose True Tone, I find it jarring.

You might want something fresh and different but the majority of iOS users do not, everything is where it should be, that’s why so many users keep upgrading.

I actually like the home bar, perhaps iOS isn’t for you, no shame in that.
