That is the previous generation MBP, the current one only comes as 2.5 Ghz, that one is 2.4 (in 17" that is)
Edit: beaten to it 3 times... lol
Oh crap I forgot about that version.. LOL I feel like a PC user. Oh yea I said it.

Just to be clear...
Are all the BluRay people wanting a BR drive for the storage capacity or strictly for movie/media files?
I can see why everyone wants Blu-Ray, but I just can't see it happening on the laptops just yet. I think Mac Pro's will be able to have them by next year.
And then maybe Blu-Ray drive in 17-inch MacBook Pro's in late 2009 - early 2010.
User-replaceable HDD's is absolutely fabulous. It's the #1 thing I wanted.
Now for the #2 thing: When will the MBP most likely get a graphics card update?
= l33tAppleInsider also speculates that the Apple logo will continue to be illuminated from behind as it is in existing Apple laptops.

Also any word on when this is doing down? (Too lazy to read through ten pages)
Thanks!!
It probably won't ever happen unless it becomes as easy as a dvd and cd burner. About five years ago, you had to pay extra to find those (at least the dvd burner) in computers.
My old laptop doesn't have one. My parents old desktop does, but they had to pay extra for it.
Someone just needs to make a universal disc drive that does everything, only without all the buttons - I mean, without sucking out all of the battery power.
I sure hope so. *crosses fingers for a dedicated graphics card in the MBs.*
Um...that IS a previous gen. 2.4ghz 17inch.....
if its made of Aluminum, i won't buy one. i have heard that they dent very easily? also i prefer the white plastic of my MB.
I don't know what people are talking about; tapered. The shape looks identical to the current MBPs!
Well, if they put them in Macbooks, I'd no longer want a MBP. That's probably the exact reason Apple doesn't make dedicated graphics cards in MB's.
The dedicated video card is the break down point. I've asked the question before and most user agree. Some are even willing to take slower processors just for a low end discrete video solution.I understand your reasoning, but surely this can't be the only big reason to buy a MBP over a regular MB?
I know it would piss off a lot of people to have to shell out an extra 1k just to get a dedicated graphics card. I know it already does piss off a lot of people. But aren't there other advantages to the MBP? I don't really see anything different in the specs.
Well, even a less powerful dedicated graphics card would be better than nothing.
On the other side, duh!![]()
