This upgrade makes no sense as this should have been last year's iPhone. As a 12 Pro Max owner I felt like Apple held back all of these small features to consider this a sizeable upgrade.
yes, last year they do that flat design change and only because of that they sold a lot
This year, when they dont have any major design change they must come with these under the hood features and changes
This upgrade from 12 to 13 is bigger than the 11 to 12 IMO

It’s about time for some new AirPods so I’m ready for those. The 13…well I love my 12P so it’s going to take some serious convincing on that one but maybe that Apple Magic™ will rub off on me.

This year I moved from iphone se (first edition) to 12pro. A huge improvement, very satisfied. Yet the screen is again almost useless under summer sun especially if you're involved to photography. Perhaps Apple should seriously invest to e-ink display technologies or something that would eliminate this weak portable experience.

Considering how horrific my 12 Pro Max battery is now (83% health)...this is not encouraging.

*Again...some have no issues with their 12 battery.
Many of us do though.

It's like a lousy lottery, hit or miss

What method/methods do you use to normally charge your phone? 83% seems really bad this quickly.. Im hoping to avoid charging whichever way you use haha. My 12 Pro Max is at 93% already (this is the worst capacity I've had after 1 year of use) so I would agree that the battery is pretty horrific at least in long term use.

* I just realized the phone came out late last year too.. so it hasn't even been a year and it being 93% Maximum Capacity already is pretty sad.

"
  • The ProMotion displays of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will throttle to 60Hz when Low Power Mode is enabled."
Sad because with promotion the display could be lockdown to even lower 30HZ to save a lot more battery life...remember we dont care how the displays motion look when you are on LPM..we care to have a functional device until we can charge it

Hey, but at least the ProMotion crybabies will finally get buttery scrolling. 🙄

You do know that there will be a setting where you can easily turn it off right?

I don’t care if it makes me a “crybaby”, ProMotion is the one feature I’ve been wanting for years. Give me that smooth as silk experience any day! It just makes it more pleasant for me and having having a pleasant experience while interacting with the device is what matters to me. I don’t mind losing 40 minutes or so of battery life because of it. I don’t even think it will be that bad anyway because it won’t be full on 120hz locked in at all times, it adjusts and goes down to 1hz depending on the content so it may actually help save battery life? You can easily use low power mode as well. Everyone thought ProMotion would kill the battery when it was first released on the iPad Pro a few years ago but it ended up having amazing battery life.

So stop being such a kill joy, no offence but you look more like the cry baby here.

“Virtually none of the rumors from the equivalent tweet thread last year came true.” That’s hysterical. Leaker just makes stuff up, but let’s report on it so next year we can say: “Virtually none of the rumors from the equivalent tweet thread last year came true.” Really funny

There isn't much I am excited with among these rumors as a current 12 Pro owner. I do think it's going to be time to upgrade my Apple Watch 4 though! 🤩

Had my 12 on release day and it’s still at 100% battery health. My tip is to never charge past 90% and I never charge overnight.

my daily routine,
- HomeKit smart plug starts charging at 06:00-07:00, (5W plug)
- Car charges it for 30 mins whilst I’m using CarPlay.
- wireless charger on my office desk to 90%
- Shortcut pings my phone and watch to say it’s at 90% so I stop it charging.
- After some time using it throughout the day, I charge again in the car on the way home and that’ll last me all night until bed.

Pretty much the same charging habits I used with y 6+, 8+, XS Max (none has issues). Use the phone normally through out the day, come home, charge. I would never leave it on the charger overnight. I'd wake up with 1-2% loss.

For the 12PM, I DID get the 20W brick, MagSafe and used that. I left if off the charger as usual overnight way back in late Feb, woke up to 100% drain, dead phone. I charged...noticed battery was now at 99% health (Apple had no idea why this happened - told me to wipe the phone out, start over) I did..never had that drain again. I went back to low wattage 5W charging.

That 99% health though, although odd..didn't bug me that much until another % drop in 5 days, another in 7...so on. Losing 1-2% every 7-12 days, erratic loss. I've done 2 complete wipe outs of the phone and started over...no luck. Right now, I have to keep it on a charger overnight or I will wake up to a 15-even 30% drain.
My battery is made by Desay (total junk), but also Sunwoda and Huapu make iPhone batteries as well. Seems to be an issue with these batteries - or our phones, or both.

Again, not affecting everyone though. But battery-wise, this is by far the worse performing iPhone I have ever owned.
