That looks really nice. It has a honey golden brown look to it and it looks natural. Mine isn’t quite there yet, I’m going on week 5 now. I can’t wait to see how your red case turns out. I have my “beater” 2020 iPhone se coming in on Monday and I also have the red leather and saddle brown cases for that one as well. I want to compare how those patina over the 11 series cases.
Yeah it’s def natural. I haven’t done anything to the case other than use it. And yes! I’m definitely excited to see how the red patinas vs the brown. I think it’ll look really good. And man ya gotta post pics of the se cases and how they come along as you use them. I’m very curious to see if they patina better!

I’ll definitely post some pics of the new cases.

I’m getting a saddle brown for my SE2 also. IDK how much I’ll wind up using it because I’m pretty obsessed with the Loopy cases, but I’ve never had an Apple leather case, and I’m excited it’ll match my saddle brown Apple leather watch band.

I have a feeling you’re going to like it. At first, it’s really slippery, but after about a week the wax coating (I’m assuming) wears off and becomes a lot more grippy. That may sway you back to the loopy case because of how much more stable the phone feels in your hand. I like the Apple cases because of how slim the phone still feels with the case on.

Well I’m loving my phone right now with no case, but it makes me panicky. I still have the back plastic on because I don’t want any scratches.

One reason I would like to use the leather case is because I finally ordered me a wireless charger, and I can’t charge my phone on one of those in a Loopy case since it won’t lay flat. I don’t want to have to take my phone out of the case all the time to charge it - kinda defeats the purpose of it being easy.

Let the patina process begin!!

Well... saddle brown has turned into a more darker brown almost black depending on lighting while my Forest Green is still GREEN lol definitely different leather for both

Has anyone noticed that when BRAND NEW the Saddle Brown is the only leather case that actually smells like real leather?

I bought the Black and and Forest Green for my iPhone 11 Pro Max (stupid name I know) and neither one smelled like real leather. The Black case actually looked like a dark grey rather than real black and the Forest Green reminded me on the Army which I’m trying to forget so needless to say I returned both and kept the saddle brown. The only thing I dislike about the saddle brown is the fact that it’s real slippery. But of all leather cases it’s my favorite. The smell is just mmmm mmmm mmmm yummy. I’m just weird like that lol.

I got all 3 of those cases but for me it was the Forrest Green that smelt the best. Lovely leather smell. The other 2 smelt too much like plastic?

o_O wth are you serious? I’ve smelled every single leather case for the iPhone 11 and Pro Max and seriously the saddle brown was the only one that smelled like leather. Keep in mind I don’t smoke or vape nor do I use any drugs/alcohol. One thing I never figured out is what kind of leather do they use? Cow/pig or horse?

I think it just goes to show that all these cases are different. I always get the saddle brown but for some reason this year it smells awful? Bought from Apple also so I know it's a genuine Apple case.

Are apple leather cases worth it?

Thinking of getting the black one but £55 is very expensive for a case
They’re really the only cases I use at this point. The fit and finish are perfect for my needs in keeping the phone semi protected while maintaining the slim feeling. They age well and will last the entire time you own the phone. Yes, they are expensive, but worth it if you plan on keeping the phone and case for extended periods of time. I hope this helps, and if you do buy one, you won’t be disappointed.

How do you clean them?

I moisturise my hands a lot (I suffer from dry skin) ...so I'm guessing the oil will transfer to the case and will age badly..
I know you have to be careful how you clean leather as some chemicals/cleaners ruin the leather.

They are definitely worth it! I own a bunch of cases and no matter which case I buy or try... I cannot stop using the Apple leather cases. They really are just soo nice and feel great in the hand and they look gorgeous after using them. Don’t let the price discourage ya. I definitely would recommend getting one. And if you look around u can find them cheaper!

Any automotive leather cleaner should work or saddle soap followed by some sort of leather balm. I prefer Smith’s organic leather balm.

Lotion won’t affect the case much. It may speed up the patina process a bit, but not by much. The case is going to absorb the oils from your hands anyway without lotion.

is that what you use? apple said something about a damp cloth but I don't see how that would work to maintain it.

No, I leave my leather cases alone. I wash my hands frequently and never set my phone down on any surface outside of my house. It’s either always in my pocket or in my edc bag.

As requested, here’s a quick pic (not the best) of my product red case for my new se. Both the phone and case were delivered today about a couple of hours ago. My saddle brown case comes in tomorrow.

Edit: Nevermind, I somehow thought I took a picture of the actual case and not just the box. I’ll post a pic of both cases tomorrow.

Anybody else get a weird smell in their leather case after aging? This case is aged a little over a month and I’m loving the patina but it’s smells kinda funky.
