Yes! Mines the same. Smells weird? I tried to get rid of the smell by leaving outside all day but no, smells awful. My green case smells great.
I found that leaving my saddle brown case that I aged smelled horrible once left outside all day. I wouldn’t recommend leaving the case in direct sunlight.
Haven’t done anything to it just normal wear and tear from daily usage

As promised. Here are pics of my Apple leather cases for my 2020 se. Notice the Apple logo centered on the red leather case ordered directly from Apple and the logo on the saddle brown case purchased from Walmart labeled as the official case for the 7/8/2020 se. The saddle brown case feels so much more like real soft leather than that of my 11 pro cases. It also smells like leather where as my saddle brown cases were hit or miss.
The last picture was taken with my se and it shows about a 5 week old patina on the saddle brown case. What a size difference between the 11 pro and se.

Your 11 pro saddle brown is starting patina really nice. I think the SE saddle brown will patina much quicker and much nicer since it’s the old saddle brown before Apple changed the material on these cases
It’s an old SB for 7/8 labeled as compatible with SE2020. Nice catch: it will develop a wonderful colour 😉
Been a long time lurker of this forum. I'm a case addict like most us on this forum lol. I have several cases for my Midnight Green 11 Pro Max. Nomad, apple leather, etc... Decided I'd post a pic of my new Bullstrap case I received Saturday. The leather on it is awesome and smells sooooo good. Very smooth and has already started to patina and get shiny. I love it. First pic is day 1 and second pic is day 4. Lighting is different too because it hasn't changed that much in person. I am hoping I can use it a while without wanting to switch cases lol
That’s what must of done it. I read somewhere that leaving it in the sun helped develop the patina?
It’s a really nice case. I have one for the 11. The patina is pretty good. I’ve had mine for a few months and the sides are almost black and the case has darkened a lot

ps. This is the case that was very rain damaged. It looks the same but still doesn’t feel very good :/

From what I remember, direct sunlight dries the leather and darkens it a bit. The speedy patina comes from the leather being dry and absorbing any kind of oil quicker than naturally letting it absorb oils since the sun dried it out. It’s looking to rehydrate so to speak with oils. I’m not entirely sure if that’s what helps it age faster.
Thanks, it looks good. I understand the different way it feels. I have an older apple saddle brown I cleaned with an alcohol wipe, saddle soaped and then used conditioner and it feels almost like a rubbery/microfiber texture.

They’re expensive no doubt but they feel like you’re holding your phone naked (they add zero bulk) and they smell nice too! I recommend the Saddle Brown which in my case smells like real leather. The smell is just mmmm mmmmm mmmmmm yummy! I have the silver iPhone so brown goes well with silver. If the Space Grey had DLC coating like the Space Grey Apple Watch I would have gotten the Space Grey iPhone but since it doesn’t I like my silver iPhone which goes great with any leather color. If you have a Space Grey iPhone I’d go with black leather. Either way the leather cases add minimal bulk and they will indeed protect your phone. Expensive? Yes. But they feel really nice in the hand.

I know it’s not an official Apple leather case but I’ve finally found a nice one for my XR.
Never heard of the brand before but it was £24 and it looks great, it even comes complete with the amazing smell of walking into a shop full of leather goods.
Now to see how well it holds up.

Decided to get a fresh saddle brown and let it patina naturally since Best Buy had it for $35.99. Also still have my Bullstrap that’s a week old. Man I have a problem lol.
The adhesive on my leather skin was getting gooey (maybe due to the heat from the phone or the weather, not sure) and leaking out from under the edges, so I decided to retire that skin. I really love how it patina’d though over almost 10 months.
So now I’m starting fresh with a new Saddle Brown case. Man, I love how buttery soft these cases are when they’re new.

Here is the Peacock Leather Folio - I think its a really nice teal colour, you get almost two colours in one, half green, half blue, its nice 
However, I personally still feel that Apple really dropped the ball on leather cases for the 11 Pro, maybe Corona had something to do with it - It’s in my opinion disappointing that the standard leather cases for the 11 Pro never got refreshed with newer colours, and having seen the Deep Sea Blue colour, on the Leather Folio, in person, it is 100% a clone of the standard Midnight Blue.
