That’s is a hard choice. I liked the Bullstrap cases I have for my xr when I had it. The buttons were decent and their customer service was always awesome. I do like how their leather appears to look more natural.

That’s the only con I have with the Bullstrap is the buttons. They stick out slightly more than the Apple leather. I just had 3 screenshots taken while in my pocket because of it lol. The buttons just push so easy is all.

Don't you get scratches on the bottom of the iPhone with that case?
I would actually be curious if anybody has. I've used a ton of leather cases over the years and any time I recommend them chances are high that someone will respond with this as a reason they won't use them.

So, what better place than here? If anybody has damage on the small exposed portion of their phone, please share a picture.

I feel like I've heard it talked about, but am I mistaken or are the relatively new iPhone model saddle brown cases not patina'ing in the same classic way as older ones?
They are different everything from the leather to even the microfiber the new ones don’t age bad don’t, but don’t quite age as nice as the old ones

Started using my back up saddle brown since my old one pretty much turned black. Let’s see how much it patinas until the new iPhones come outView attachment 941403

Took my case off because it might have germs on it. Now I’m not so sure I can go back—the naked phone is SO SMALL! I love it 🤷‍♀️

On the se? Or is that the 8? I’ve got the same case on my 2020 se.

its the 2020 se

That looks really good you should do a side by side with the 11 pro to see the difference in patinas I feel like the previous generation saddle brown had more of an orangy patina vs 11 pro is a bit more on the golden side

dont have an 11 pro haha otherwise that would be fun

When you get marks/dirt patches on the case what are you supposed to clean it with? I am hearing/reading conflicting things

Some people say don't use leather cleaner whilst some say its fine, I have also heard baby wipes are not good for leather. What is the safest way to clean it?

It’s so hard to choose which case is better. This Bullstrap or the apple leather saddle brown. The Bullstrap’s buttons kind of wobble around somewhat loose but has a nicer leather. The Apple leather has rock solid buttons compared to the Bullstrap. Idk

The power button on my bullstrap fell out and they sent me a new one for free. The new case buttons feel much better🤷🏼‍♂️

Hmmm, mine is loose. It kind of wobbles in place when the phone is in it. I just got it 7/25/2020 so I would have figured it was a “newer” one with better buttons

Am I the only one who is not in love with the leather case “patina”? It’s just dirt and oil. Then the couple times I’ve used my go to leather cleaner on them, it removes the dye. I love how the saddle brown cases look and feel when new but after a while they just get slippery and they’re uncleanable.

I mean, the title of the thread is “patina proud”, so you’re definitely in the minority with that opinion :) Sure, it’s dirt and oil, but that’s how leather ages. Some people like scars, and I personally think an older car can look better than a new one. It’s a rugged, been-there-done-that look. Like a baseball mitt, or Clint Eastwood.
You’re not wrong though—it is dirt and oil . . . But it’s MY dirt and oil. It’s the story of this loyal case that took a beating for my phone. It’s a memento of the time we’ve spent together.

Does anyone else’s leather case that is 6mos older + start to just feel grimy and nasty? No matter how much I clean it it just feels nasty
