Anyone have any pics of their SB case after a few months of use without any sort of planned destruction?
No patina huh… you must really baby the hell out of that case. Good for you though these cases tend to age like crap. Lol
Nice. My Pacific Blue looks pretty much the same since day 1 in Nov. 2 barely noticeable black spots on the back edge - one below volume down and power button. Makes sense, my palm hits below the vol. button, middle, ring fingers below power.
always hated the way my red one turned out on my iPhone 6 but loved my how my saddle brown aged over 2yrs. here it is next to my saddle brown for my iPhone X a couple of weeks ago.

I would totally grab the Saddle Brown 12 PM case if I knew it would Patina like the previous models.
In the meantime I'm waiting for Nomad Rugged Magsafe to get back in stock on Amazon (was on the site today for $48..but sold out.) * Many seem they hate the buttons on those?
The Bullstrap bourbon case also looks amazing also.
(I'm actually tempted to to take my ancient leather jacket from 1991...torn and beat up a bit, cut it and try to create my own case - somehow covering it over a cheap clear 12PM case I have here. ) That might be a comical "Why am I attempting this," DIY project. 😂
I have the Nomad rustic brown on the way (non-MagSafe). I’m currently using their natural leather case on my 12, but I liked how the brown was aging on my mini. So, ordered the brown for the 12.

Why would they update just the SB? I have had three different colors age the same awful way.
Please don't do this. I have been using this thread as research for getting a decent leather case that is NOT the crappy Apple leather case. The posts showing alternatives to Apple's cases are VERY useful. What a massive disservice you've done. How could you possibly think that was a good idea?
Totally agree. Just a mod on a power trip. Even the thread creator preferred their being non apple cases here. Cancel culture is going too far these days.
Just a note - I know over 49 pages ago a few members have been complaining that the thread was overrun by non-Apple leather case posts and at the time the thread did have "Apple Leather Cases" in the title. I believe the Mod @Phil A. may have been responding to that at the time. I think the title has since been changed to remove Apple (after Phil A's actions).

My Grams28 case took a very short fall onto gravel and shredded much worse than this - had a flap I could pull over. Made me sad

And honestly, it doesn’t look terrible. I think the biggest issue with the new cases wearing this way is due to the squared off edges of the phones and the case. Personally, I’d rather the squared off phone over the “perfect patina” but if you’re looking for a perfect patina you won’t find it… patina is different in every case. I just wish it would do a little better on the back of the phone. We shall see. This is my second attempt with the saddle brown apple case

The intention was to show off patina... Didn't mean to get all political with the Apple/non-Appleness of it all. Just show how your leather is looking. If you have some great patina, how did you get it? I did a little DIY project today with help of YouTube videos.
Basically wrapping leather on a regular boring case.
(Dont ask, I was bored..and figured I'd give this a try.)
So picked up 8x10 leather "sheets" at Michaels Crafts, - with the online 20% off coupon, one Saddle Brown and Black cost about 13 bucks. - VERY strong leather smell to these which is great.
Grabbed a very basic black silicone case at Five Below. Small can of DAP Weldwood glue - (Like strong rubber cement..downside...whoa that smell is potent - Rubber glue on steroids..LOL !) Leather is on the case very tight, nice seal!
Went back to YT and found this better tutorial so I went with it.
*Plus I also liked how she added a beveled out Apple logo.
Just went step by step, taking my time. So far not TOO horrific I think - certainly not perfect. Just need to tweak a few more things..clean it up a bit. The camera hole is not yet complete.
One problem though...clearly the big problem working with this, the leather I bought is too thick. I need to find much thinner leather. I do a few old wallets, I'll see...take those apart, that leather is much thinner, but maybe way too thin.
Just experimenting..killing time today THIS should patina very well I think!

Update for 13th April wallet and 17th April case. Three treatments with argan oil till now. Details about top right corner in the second picture.
Just seeing this, absolutely love this! 12's case? I'm guessing (I put my phone up to the JPG, it looks it matches, buttons) - Anyway, can you tell me how you got that look?
