Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Anyone know how the MagSafe wallet, the sleeve and the airtags leather patinas? I have two of the sleeves but haven't used them. The leather feels and looks different from the cases.

But on the bottom corner of your decoded case what’s that yellowish colour on the edge of the dark corner, that case too after only a month is turning dark on the edges as well,
just like the Apple branded leather the square edges are forcing leather cases to age oddly and the sharp square edges are wearing the leather rapidly,
I don’t mind the black edges that’s expected with sharp corners lol It’s the fact that apples case does not really change on the back, on the other hand this one does.
Either way I found an alternative and hope others do too! Have a nice evening!

It is a different leather if you look at the description on the case. They still use the higher quality leather like the 11 Pro cases.
Both of my Apple leather cases are slowly changing on the backs, but that’s fine glad you’re liking your alternative,
also instead of calling it evening, I’m going to call this morning, i have have to go to work soon, i have a photo shoot in a couple hours…
I use the belkin 3 in 1 as well and it’s been charging overnight through MagSafe for a while now and I cannot see a MagSafe ring like yours.
Got my Nomand case yesterday. Early days, but already I can tell this is in a different league to the Apple one (which is now in the bin, after only a few months). The Nomad fits properly for a start, so little chance of my 12 Pro popping out like it did with the apple.
But it’s also very nice to hold as it feels like actual leather, rather than the apple leather that felt like sticky cardboard.

Did you get the MagSafe version or the one without MagSafe? I’ve never owned one of their cases but they look bulkier than Apple’s ones. They are also leather back cases since the sides are rubber.
I've never owned one either though I admit I've been tempted in the past. What's always held me back is the fear of to much bulk.
I have one of the premagsafe variants and love it… wish I would have waited for the MagSafe version. They aren’t overly bulky. Like a good tpu case with leather on the back. What got me is the leather isn’t seamless like apple or bullstrap.
Too many people are tossing apples cases like they aren’t any good. There are plenty between here and Reddit that are patinaing as they should… it just takes longer. These cases are doing exactly what the 5 and 5s cases were doing years ago. They are still good cases… I’ve had this Sb case for about a month now, yes it’s darkening around the edges like everyone else’s. But there’s a dude that finally got the perfect patina after 6 months. Takes time. Love the pics here regardless. Leather is art.
It’s only very slightly more bulky that the Apple case. It’s still a slim case, despite the ‘rugged’ description. I much prefer it to the Apple, which never really felt like it protected it much anyway.
Perhaps there is a newer iteration and update of materials from the initial shipments of units. Mine didn’t get better, it got worse. Started off rough and clammy, ended up a rubbery mess. Nothing like my previous iPhone 8 saddle brown. I appreciate my experience isn‘t universal, but clearly neither is that of the people claiming they are fine cases.
I agree they’re a hit or miss, not worth the gamble. So until I see a consistency of good feedback from apple leather, I’ll stick to my aftermarket case
I got the non-MagSafe rustic brown rugged. I wouldn’t say bulky. I think rugged is the perfect description. Feels classy yet utilitarian and high integrity. Mechanical yet organic. Very good side grip yet not rubbery. My Apple saddle brown that it replaces was stickier.
How are you liking the bottom cutouts? Sharp edges bothering your little finger at all?
It doesn't affect me personally but I tend to use my phone two handed and so my pinky isn't used to support the weight of the device. But trying it now I can see it might be a potential downside for some users. I also considered the Bullstrap and may try that at some time in the future. It undoubtedly offers less protection, though.
I think they must have changed/improved this for the newer MagSafe Nomad models, as it’s not an issue at all (I have had cases before where it was).
Looks good! I noticed the case seems to have a good amount of raise bezel in the front. Are you using a tempered glass screen protector?
Yeah I really like how that turned out. Looks a lot like the Apple midnight blue leather from years past. Did you rub out the white numbers or did that happen with normal usage?
I have the same one and like it so far. The quality of the leather is much better than the Apple cases (I have 2 of them as well) and also it feels great when holding. It is soft and supple.
