Yeah I really like how that turned out. Looks a lot like the Apple midnight blue leather from years past. Did you rub out the white numbers or did that happen with normal usage?

It wears off with normal use.

Looks good! I noticed the case seems to have a good amount of raise bezel in the front. Are you using a tempered glass screen protector?

The bezels are comparable to Apple case. But the fit is much better. Does not come off easily like the Apple case.

Just constant rubbing with my fingers and used an alcohol wipe to clean the case in general from time to time

Still using today, no problems with the buttons or anything else. The leather continues to deepen in color with age.

Too many people are tossing apples cases like they aren’t any good. There are plenty between here and Reddit that are patinaing as they should… it just takes longer. These cases are doing exactly what the 5 and 5s cases were doing years ago. They are still good cases… I’ve had this Sb case for about a month now, yes it’s darkening around the edges like everyone else’s. But there’s a dude that finally got the perfect patina after 6 months. Takes time. Love the pics here regardless. Leather is art.

This. They're very much patina-ing like the 5/5S leather cases due to the squared off edges. I think it's partly due to the fact that we've had rounded corners for about 5 years, so half a decade of the same similar patina--these squared off leather cases is a bit of a shock to some people.

Have you guys missed the open button cutout from the previous leather cases? Do you prefer the closed out bottom now? How is swiping to you guys?

Not at all I much prefer the extra protection in the bottom, specially with the iPhone 12 edges scratching so much easier

About to pull the trigger on a Nomad case. Any differences (aside from the obvious) in the MagSafe and non MagSafe versions? I don't use MagSafe but if the newer version is nicer I'll spend the extra $10.

No difference between the two as far as looks go. Maybe a weight difference due to the magnets imbedded within the MagSafe case, but other than that, they are the same case.

It's not like I planned it. Patina just sorta happens. It is what it is. I don't like the unevenness of it. I'm blaming it on little hands, big phone.

No, I’ve been using all of my Nomad cases as-is. I don’t feel they need to be cut in anyway even though the buttons are somewhat stiff. I’d hate to possibly ruin the case. I’d probably end up butchering it.

For what it's worth I don't use MagSafe so I also went for the vanilla Nomad. Cheaper, bound to be lighter, and less likely to attract ferrous dust in any kind of mechanical engineering setting.

Decoded case just arrived. Photos don't do justice. It is more like a reddish brown colour and looks better irl, plus it feels and smells like real leather. Let's see how it ages.

I've ordered it a month ago 4/18 but most of the time was in my main country after it arrived... Blame covid? I'm in Europe btw.
