The top one for sure assuming all else is equal (no issues w/ fit, finish etc.)
Do you use MagSafe for charging? I am thinking about it but hear it leaves a ring mark on outside the case.
Top looks better. My golden brown is like the bottom one, looks like it wasn’t stamped hard enough, and the logo is flush with the rest of the case, not pushed in. Doesn’t really bother me though as it’s a backup to my midnight case (when it finally arrives) and everything else about the case is fine. Buttons are all good, and in better lighting there is some grain to the leather, it’s not as smooth as it first looked out of the box. Feels smooth though.Posted this earlier but what do you think about the 2 cases I have? Which would you choose? (The colour is the same by the way, just the light is different)

Thanks for the pics.
Really interested to see how this color ages.It has been one week. The case looks and feels great. View attachment 1858570View attachment 1858569
I think it is genuine but there is a coating no doubt. I havent used mink oil on it, just Neatsfoot. Thanks for the pics.
I apply some mink oil on my "golden".
Maybe the coating is quite thick.. it didn't penetrate into the leather and darken it.. maybe it isn't genuine leather.. maybe it's polyurethane leather.
Sometimes. You can kinda see the outline but my black one from last year doesn’t show much more than that.Do you use MagSafe for charging? I am thinking about it but hear it leaves a ring mark on outside the case.
I’d like to use it but I’ve seen a lot of rings on folk’s cases. I don’t want to see any rings on mine.Sometimes. You can kinda see the outline but my black one from last year doesn’t show much more than that.
So I kept on going with an old sock…Saddle brown on my 12 mini worn every day since 12/2020. The sides were half worn down so I grabbed a regular old towel and wiped it down to match (kinda crazy how easy the top layer wears off!)

Yes. And then pressing them outwards as well. Phone out of case for bothPinching as in press the power and volume button inwards towards each other? With the phone inside the case or just the case itself?
So I kept on going with an old sock…
Any advice on what to apply on it at this point?that
Looks like you got super lucky with that one! It’s such a shame that Apple totally ruined these cases 2 years in a row now. My handed down xs max case has such an amazing deep glazed chocolate patina these days. Now they upped the ante giving us baby **** yellow with a plastic coating lolSo I kept on going with an old sock…
Any advice on what to apply on it at this point?
I wanted a high quality leather case with MagSafe as well but after seeing all the wear circles and how I neither trust MagSafe car mounts and don’t use MagSafe chargers since they are so slow.I’d like to use it but I’ve seen a lot of rings on folk’s cases. I don’t want to see any rings on mine.
I’m seeing the same thing across al the colors I’ve tried … especially the volume buttons.Does anyone else find the buttons harder to click in this years leather cases? They’re definitely not as clicky as my iPhone 12 ones.
My man I would love a tutorial, I totally butchered mine, to the point that im thinking about applying chocolate brown Leather Dye, from. This point you think is posible to still sand it properly to show a more uniform patina?I’ve sanded mine down. I didn’t think I would but I’m glad I did. Here it is a few days ago after the sanding and a good dose of leather conditioner. I also used a razor blade to scrape the leather smooth, it’s like soft nubuck now. I wasn’t going for a fake patina btw, I just removed the coating to expose the true leather and allow for a more natural patina. View attachment 1851351
The problem is trying to get that Glassy glaze. Like the esr leather for instance is more or less pressed and processed/painted suede so any type of abrasive will basically unmask what it really is.My man I would love a tutorial, I totally butchered mine, to the point that im thinking about applying chocolate brown Leather Dye, from. Looks good Sir. I like the nomad stuff Instill have an AirTag card holder in order with them. I would buy a case from them but just too bulky around the sides on a pro max and how it glues to the back. I would totally get moisture in between the the crack on the leather/rubber on the edges and it would puff up .Pulled our old XR Nomad folio apart, Wife got a new one for my old 12 pro max today, these are the real
deal/leather.

That’s not bad at all tbh. I personally wouldn’t add any dye to it yet - no quick undo if it really turns out ugly! I used 400-600 grit paper on the *dry* case and scraped it softly with a razor blade. Just imagine it’s your face skin - that softly. It will be light brown/ tan, add some conditioner (just a little needed) and after a week or two it’ll darken nicely. The hardest parts are around the buttons.. I’ve hit a dead end with those. My man I would love a tutorial, I totally butchered mine, to the point that im thinking about applying chocolate brown Leather Dye, from.
